The diary of Neneru of the Nine Lives, a young mage who wrestles with how best to change the world. As her journey continues she earns gil writing about the places she's seen and the people she's met.
what do you mean i can’t read every book, study every academic subject, taste every food, live in every city in every country, visit every museum, listen to every single song ever produced, learn every language, meet every interesting person, memorize every particle of knowledge to ever exist ???
"I hope whomever I took these clothes from doesn't notice their absence. I promise, stranger, that I will do my utmost to return them.
"I felt as though maybe I was being tailed. Perhaps they were followers from my days as Sister Grimalkin, but as like they are not. Anyroad, this delays my errand at the Alchemist guild. Now, I sit hidden on a roof top and watch the Sapphire Exchange below. I feel so strange about Ul'Dah. Despite all my anger about its rulers, despite her refusal to open the doors to we refugees when we needed her, I've come to love her. I watch the shopping crowds, and I know their patterns like studying schooling fish. I love them in their struggles and victories. I love the petty squables of merchants and the burning lights of young lovers. I love the street performers, and the adventurers that dot the crowd, looking so apart from and yet a part of.
"So it hurts to be so unwelcome here.
"It is better for everyone I stay away for a long time..."
The Undsatzr stopped at Costa Del Sol to drop off precious cargo and acquire yet more from Wineport. Captain Trachynwyda encouraged Neneru to spend a day taking in sun and surf at the famed resort settlement.
A list of potions scrawled in a hasty hand in Neneru’s personal diary

Cherbin Mierqid aboard the Cassowary
I was perhaps hasty in agreeing to make these. Still, it was Mistress ‘Reya’s request. It is her livelihood, and I am her apprentice. I do not carry any alchemical equipment with me since it is not my specialty, and I was only able to find a handful of reagents in the Bazaar itself.
Ul’Dah is a half-day’s ride away. Would this Cherbin see aught amiss if I were a day late? I should be able to get the rest of these reagents and rent out a workshop at the Alchemist’s guild.
On the other hand, it’s Ul’Dah, and I am still as yet a wanted woman. Should I feel truly hurt for time, I couldn’t even purchase said potions to pass off as my own, as they are proprietary to mistress ‘Reya’s shop.
Anyroad, it seems there is naught for it but to walk into the fire once more. I doubt I shall receive any attention from Blades. So long as I avoid Sultansworn or Stone Torches, I think I can evade notice.
Wish me luck.
There is a quiet heartbeat to the Silver Bazaar along Thanalan’s Western coast. Once upon a time its market was one of two focal points of trade for the region, discounting Ul’Dah herself. These days her fortunes have reversed, trade drawn away by the newer settlement of Vesper Bay. She lives ever in the shadow of the large developments moving in to the surrounding hills as monetarists seek quiet plats to build lavish manses and estates, far from the apiary buzz of the city. And in this shadow there is danger. The locals I speak to tell me tales of the many attempts by corrupt Brass Blades and silver tongued merchants attempting to force simple folk from the homes they’ve inhabited for generations.
For the time being, all such attempts have been rebuffed by locals and adventurers alike, but land developers feel it is only a matter of time.
The locals here are fiercely loyal to their home and its markets, still striving to bring in new products and goods. And in the last year, fortunes have slowly turned, bringing more boats into her meager docks. I arrived in one-such today—the Undsatzr—trading in wines from Wineport. Captain Trachynwyda has been gracious enough to give me berth and passage, though the Silver Bazaar marks the end of this particular leg of the Journey.
The Undsatzr is a worthy vessel, swift and lively. Should you find yourself in need of passage or work and she sits in the bay, seek out her captain. As for the Bazaar, what I’ve found is a handful of broken dreamers who still dream of a better tomorrow for the little community they love. Traders and adventurers both would find ample opportunity here. Those who seek to escape the noises of the city for more tranquil shores, you scarce could do better.

I was in an Unsundered kick last night. On a lark I created the Ancient incarnation of my girl Neneru. I wanted to name that would go along with both the sound of her current incarnation's name and the general Greek mythological theming of Amaurot.
I ended up choosing Nemesis. Neneru's long arc these past few years has been centered on the struggle for justice for the poor and oppressed of Ul'dah and the struggle within herself as she discovered the human cost of her methods. Doing a deeper dive on the goddess Nemesis, suddenly I realized how perfect she is.
OH AND I DISCOVERED THAT WHILE I WAS DOING ALL THIS, IT WAS AZEM APRIL.
