saw a tiktok of a mother taking her very tiny daughter to an art museum and she’s just walking around going “whoooa” “woooaah” to everything but then they got to a marble statue of a nude woman lying on her back and the girl points and goes “mommy🫵” and i just immediately welled up with tears and all the comments are just laughing about it and of course it’s funny but how are you not insanely moved by the way art connects everyone on earth from a centuries-old sculptor to a toddler in 2023

#i love finding children in museums!!!! #i went to the miró / picasso exhibition in Barcelona last winter and this pair of little tourist girls were going around pointing out stuff #and their comments were so smart and funny actually i think children might get abstract art much more than adults and that's the whole point

So I'm currently in Japan for a short holiday + then work (but pls don't mention it) trip and my toxic trait is I will 100% try to talk to the people in Japanese because why would I low miserable tourist have to force anyone to speak English, and then they'll reply in Japanese and 9.7 times out of 10 I will not understand a word because I, in fact, do not speak japanese
