Do Material Goals and God Consciousness Mix Together?
Namaste My Narayani-Sena,
In short, the answer is YES. It does, but only with a very specific mindset. As a human being living in the age of Kali-Yug, it is important to have daily affirmations about the circumstances in which one lives. This will go a long way!!
In this age, we have to go to school, we have to have jobs and careers to survive, we have to purchase the things we want if we want to survive without significantly facing the wrath of the bare elements on our backs. We must and I’m sure many people wouldn’t have it any other way.
This is not like any other age, where you can go off into the forests and meditate and make your cottage home wherever you feel like without obtaining a real estate agent. We can’t go off into the wilderness and expect to find nutritious berries on the trees without having to account for the vicious creatures we might encounter.
Realistically in a Material Age, we need ... MATERIALS. This does not inherently mean that you forsake the Lord when you obtain materials, or that you relinquish him when you WORK for things. There is a difference between WORKING and DESIRING/WANTING.
Let’s take some outrageous goal as an example:
Having a huge, technologically savvy house.
There are two ways to go about this:
1. I can focus on my work at hand, without feeling greed to live only in a huge house. I can go about my daily activities one day at a time, making ethically sound decisions, chanting the Lord’s name, dedicating the results of my actions as a sacrifice unto him. I can utilize the breaths that I take to carry out my daily actions as a sacrifice unto him. That is invoking the Lord in all MATERIAL activities and purifying them, regardless of any unknown errors that were made. Overtime, your interests grow to include pleasing the governing Lord, who after being impressed with my utmost devotion, rewards me with something worthy like for example, a huge house. He knows that I will be able to continue to live my life in exactly the same way I’ve been doing for many years to come. In that way, the house came as a result of my KARMA, not desire.
2. In this situation, I can say continuously “I want a big house,” “I’ll do anything to get a big house,” “I’ll cut this many corners,” “I’ll deceive so and so,” and all these acts together will get me to my goal. One thing I’ll say to that is yes, I may very well succeed, but that success will only sustain itself for a short period of time, until the foundation crumbles on itself.
In situation 1, the Lord sustains that achievement with his might through my sustained devotion. In that way you can achieve nearly anything material through the Lord, not by going around him. Situation 1, may be fruitful in this lifetime or the next, it’s slow but its SURE.
One piece of advice I have, is that I have never experienced any greater pleasure other than having the Lord’s name on my tongue. I have achieved most of my material goals without directly going after them and I’m only in my early 20′s. They just seem to fall perfectly into my life like magic, but I know it’s the Lord’s doing. I just do my duties and he does what he loves to do, bless his devotees.
Liberation is 3 simple words, Jai Shri Krishna.

You cannot be God (Krishna) Conscious if you are a bigot, a racist, a misogynist, a homophobe, or transphobic PERIOD.

My Narayani-Sena,
It’s mid-week, it’s time to reflect on the right things that we are doing and identify where improvements can be made so that we can be on our way to Lord Krishna’s abode in a few short years. We have to ask ourselves,
Did we call the Lord’s name upon waking up?
Did we pay our respects to the Devi’s and Devata’s daily?
Did we consciously and intentionally attempt to identify the supersoul in other beings and treat them equally?
Did we turn our spare time into spiritual productivity by chanting the holy name of the Lord?
If we did some of these items, then you might have noticed profound moments in mundane activities in which you sense that you are making progress and seeing the world through clearer lens. More specifically, I’ve noticed that I react less dramatically and outrageously at something that would otherwise have elicited an “ignorant” reaction had I not engaged myself in Krishna Consciousness.
Let’s proceed towards completing this week successfully!
Jai Shri Krishna

From personal experience, it really does take A LOT of energy and mental power to do major things without thinking of what benefits will be achieved. That mental struggle is how you know you are making progress, because it highlights self-awareness. At that point, you are aware and making a conscious effort to relinquish those potential fruits of your actions. Trying to be better and overcome our natural human/materialistic tendencies indicates you are on the path to self-realization. Keep going!!!
ॐ “The Meaning of Karma is in the intention. The intention behind action is what matters”
Those who are motivated only by desire for the fruits of action are miserable, for they are constantly anxious about the results of what they do!  ॐ

Namaste my Narayani-Sena,
As the work week commences, there are a few points we need to cover that will serve as a gentle reminder of our goals and purpose of our time on this planet, while we fulfill the responsibilities of our material lives. While performing these activities, we must beware of our actions and NOT be carried away in mundane material life.
All forms of life have a soul, which is part and parcel of Lord Shri Krishna. He is present as the supersoul in all beings alongside their souls (this includes you).
Be kind to all who cross your path, the Lord is actively witnessing your actions. For every action is an equal and appropriate karmic reaction, act accordingly.
Since our souls are part and parcel of the Lord, we are all EQUAL. There are no levels of superiority among created beings. This little detail will serve in remaining HUMBLE.
In return, humility will strengthen your relationship with the Lord and he will reveal himself to you when he senses true and PURE intentions of humility.
Be cautious of all opportunities that are presented to you during the day to perform an act of kindness and selfless charity. Turning away such opporunities are offensive and one must grasp at all instances to prove their character and attract the Lord to them.
While our journey towards Lord Shri Krishna is personal, we can certainly help each other along the path. Bhakts helping bhakts, irregardless of where they are in their journey is what brings incredible joy to my friend, Lord Shri Krishna.
Jai Shri Krishna

Good Morning Narayani Sena
Every morning is an opportunity to start anew and reset the tone for your day, your week, even your life as you see fit.
Things you need to remember when you wake up
1. Call on the name of the Lord. You can say “Jai Shri Krishna,” “Hare Krishna,” “Ram Ram,” “Jai Shri Ram,” “Om Namo Bhagavate Vasudevya,” - this is not an exhaustive list, he has 1000 names, pick one.
2. Pay respects to the Sun (Surya; Vivasvan), the Earth (Dharti Ma), and Tulsi Devi
3. Pay respects to Hanumanji via Hanuman Chalisa
4. If time permits, engage in listening or singing bhajans
Have a productive day,
Jai Shri Krishna

The cosmos, math/physics, and love for Krishna all exist hand in hand. There are so many topics throughout the Purana’s and various scriptures that make you wonder exactly where in the geographical universe is this event occurring, what it must look like. There is a great satisfaction in knowing exactly how these universal processes occur, what events take place on these celestial bodies, and when simply by opening a book. You just have to open your heart to Krishna and he will show you all the secrets to the srishti.

Quote
As a man discards his threadbare robes and puts on new, so the Spirit throws off Its worn- out bodies and takes fresh ones. Weapons cleave It not, fire burns It not, water drenches It not, and wind dries It not. It is impenetrable; It can be neither drowned nor scorched nor dried. It is Eternal, All- pervading, Unchanging, Immovable and Most Ancient. It is named the Unmanifest, the Unthinkable, the immutable. Wherefore, knowing the Spirit as such, thou hast no cause to grieve. Even if thou thinkest of It as constantly being born, constantly dying, even then, O Mighty Man, thou still hast no cause to grieve. For death is as sure for that which is born, as birth is for that which is dead. Therefore grieve not for what is inevitable. The end and the beginning of beings are unknown. We see only the intervening formations. Then what cause is there for grief? One hears of the Spirit with surprise, another thinks It marvellous, the third listens without comprehending. Thus, though many are told about It, scarcely is there one who knows It. Be not anxious about these armies. The Spirit in man is imperishable.
Bhagavad Gita, II: 22-30 (via aham-braham-asmi)
