So this drawing is my Secret Santa gift for my colleague. His name is Cicúr (Mr KittyCat) and a really playful fluffy boy. He didn't have a good summer, but I am sure he will have loads of fun in his new house with his family. His markings were a bit of a challenge (this is like the 3rd version, but I ran out of time), so I went a bit more painted semi-realistic style this time compared to my usual more comic style. Learned a lot again.

So here is my tiny "secret" inktober sketchbook. The sketchbook is a talens 12×12 cm sketchbook and I used pilot preppy fountain pens.

I really wanted to join Inktober this year as usual, but I was already a bit sick beginning of October and was already stressed by other things, so I went the simple route this year.

To be honest, I am always a bit overwhelmed by these types of daily drawing challenges (even if I did join most of them many times), as I don't draw or do art daily usually, as I always want to do everything perfectly in my drawings and it takes lots of energy, so to lose some those perfectionism (and to relieve some daily stress) I decided to do some random doodles and zentangles without a prompt list for this inktober. The only rules were that they should be with black ink only (with minimal pencil sketching if not at all) and all with free hand (minimal ruler use), can't draw persons (to avoid drawing the same theme as I always do) and not post online about it.

I wanted to learn to use fountain pens properly for a long time so I thought this was a PERFECT TIME, as I am not good with them due to some past traumatic school experiences 🤣 I think this part I have achieved, I was so surprised by day 28 (the straight-lined one, that looks like triangles) compared to day 1, I mean, I've never thought how steady my hands can be just under 31 days. Just look at those lines, LOOOOK! All without a ruler. I think I am most proud of that piece.

The biggest takeaway was that I did take some time to draw almost every day, even if it was before going to sleep, during an online lectures or waiting for something like a train, or model simulation to end, etc. Even got a nice little kit together which fits my purse as well to carry my stuff around. And I did have fun. Usually, these monthly challenges can be overwhelming at some stage, but this was mostly fun apart from the usual frustration that some pieces were... not so nice or not interesting.🤣🤌 But I am glad I did it this way.

Havanna

So we are back to cats again 🤣

Havanna is the family cat of a family friend. She is sassy lady and her human Mom loves to read, so we needed to include some books there. I need some personal perspective studies to be done, because those books are a mess 🙃 but well.. at least I tried.

Tears of the dragon

What a ride it was! Both the game and this drawing. I haven't drawn such scale lately, so I am really proud I could commit myself to it. I wanted to do a short summary video of it.

Recently I am playing the new Zelda game, and having so much fun and really liked the Light Dragon storyline (if you know, you know), and thought I would draw it for myself for my birthday, as the merch is not there yet. It got a bit more.... complex as I started to draw it. Sketching and inking took extremely long as the pattern was really complex, especially in the background, but I was mostly happy how it turned out.

First up was coloring the Light Dragon. I was a bit torn about the colour of the scales on the back and the belly so I had to double-check in the game like 3 times (extremely tedious to get her as I am lame), so I went with the more warm grey way, so I can add the golden accent to her belly and hopefully, it worked nicely with the planned blueish-greenish background.

Next up was the upper circle part. I wanted to do greenish-blueish background to have the feeling of the Zonai ruins that were over grown with the plants over the thousands of years and to make the dragon pop with the Master Sword. The shperes with sages' marks were originally planned to be light teal colors like the zonai devices in the game, but it would have been too similar to the other parts with pens I currently have so I went with the old gold glow to show they are ancient. I left the original Ocarina of time marks on the spheres as I prefer those over the new markings. This stint was one long run, but we are not far from the end.

Last stint was the lower part of of the picture. Wasn't sure about the background there, but it really pulled it together in the end and I was really tired and fed up with the drawing. All together I spent on it around 20+ hours not including the planning phase, but I am happy I could pull it off , hope you like it 😊

I have noticed that I haven't posted that many sketches recently. It is just a sign that I am still alive, it is just too hot to do anything (plus I am waiting for some pens to arrive at last for my dragon) and psssst ....please don't mock the boy sketch that much. He is a rare sight (we don't want to scare him away) and he can't help it that I am lame at drawing guys.

Hi there! I’m having some health related problems so I’m going to open commissions soon. I know this webbed site doesn’t really like when someone’s trying to make money but :’))) These are the things that can be expected:

Character portraits/half body drawings with decorative/ solid color/ no color backgrounds. Prices will go from $80-120 but I’ll make a proper post about it very soon. Also, since it seems people like my ghost lady I was thinking I could make a ghost category (plus white linearts are fun :) I will update my ko-fi shop with premade original paintings as well. Space cat Bubu - I made this portrait of my friend's cat Bubu. Bubu is adorable lady who is gonna be 18 this year. Her human Mom is big fan of astronomy and NASA, so I wanted intercorporate that.
