I do not usually make posts like this but recently I have seen a lot of content on Instagram, Twitter and I think tiktok too misunderstanding the meaning of intrusive thoughts, which may cause people experiencing them to be upset.

I have tried to shortly explain the difference of impulsive and intrusive and hope it will help people to understand and use the words correctly.

Since the r-slur is making a comeback (you know, the word that starts with R, has six letters, and ends in D), I'm gonna make a little PSA:

Yes, it's an ableist slur.

Terms like "asshat," "head-up-ass," "up their own ass," and "high on their own farts" exist. There's also words like crap, dogshit, half-assed, assclown, and chucklefuck. And on the less vulgar side, there are terms like ridiculous, nonsense, train wreck, pointless, insipid, self-absorbed, pretentious, annoying, boring, contemptible, vile, and disgusting.

Substituting words like restarted, poptarted, brain damaged, smoothbrain, etc. is still ableist, because either 1. you obviously still mean the r-word, or 2. you're still using disability as an insult.

#I like to think he was close with his crew before he got greedy #like he saw them as a new found family once #and then he gets this odd yet powerful device (the map) and with that ALOT of gold because of this device and with that ✨paranoia✨ #more specifically paranoia of people back-stabbing him and stealing the device which would also be stealing his fortune #so he eventually becomes disconnected with his crew even his most trusted and just sees all these people as potential enemies #the saddest part about this headcannon for me is when he tries to dispose his own crew #like just imagine the confusion and horror of witnessing not just your captain but your friend suddenly starting picking off #your fellow shipmates (who you now see as family) out of the blue for no apparent reason just swinging his sword left and right #like some mindless raging beast #a beast that needs to be locked away since it can’t be killed or maybe they didn’t have the heart to him (for some reason) #so they all just left and didn’t come back #sorry if none of this makes sense 😅
