Nywalo, Mich(2013). "From "Badman" to "Gangsta" Double Consciousness and Authencity, from African-American folklore to hip-hop". Popular Music & Society, 36(4),460-475. This journal talks about the true criteria background of what the music has to talk or be about to be considered authentic. For example, in this journal it was stated that "Keepin it real is frequently employed to prove hip-hop's role as a truth teller, especially the truths about poor black urban life that many people want to shove under the rug". It also gives the reader an idea of what and who is considered a great representation of the hip-hop culture. This study researches the different reasons why their is also no real image of an authentic rapper in the culture due to this folkloric figures of what the rapper should be such as a trickster, and badman made it hard for many upcoming artist or rappers to keep it real as they saw real to be to them. This journal will be a great incorporation into my references because it will allow me to give a look of how the older or past generations in hip-hop saw their real authentic rappers as. It also has many supports to my idea of how the criteria that was once was established for an authentic hip-hop rapper who samples music into their owns has greatly changed.

I have to argue with you on that one. Some information that we see or hear we are quick to think its true without taking the actual facts into consideration first and before we check the credibility of the source that the information is coming for. For example, the Kehlani suicide incident the media and paparazzi aided to it and we honestly are not sure that the situation happened the way we are being told.
Annotation 6: On the function of the United States paparazzi : celebrity image control and power
Mendelson, A. L. (2007). On the function of the United States paparazzi:                        Mosquito swarm or watchdogs of celebrity image control and power.                Visual Studies, 22(2). 169-183. doi:10. 1080/14725860701507236
In this article the author discuss paparazzi and what role they play dealing with celebrities. When you think about celebrity image paparazzi is known for  aggressively invading the personal lives of famous people just to post it on the media. The author states that the celebrity deserves as much privacy in their personal life as the common man. However normally a lot of celebrities hide many personal things that they do not want exposed to the media to protect their image. and the paparazzi is known for revealing the true expect that you don’t get to see from celebrities. so in a way the Paparazzi helps reveal celebrity true image. The problem is that so photographers may mislead some photos to get more publicity and it interferes with the true image of the celebrity by posting the photo with a heading that has nothing to do with the celebrity.
This article is helpful for my writing because it a great key point that paparazzi can reveal the true image of a celebrity but you have to be careful the credibility in the source. It also points out how celebrity image is large influenced a lot of outside forces and can by hard to remain authentic when you have the media judging you for everything you do and do not do.

I actually really like this source, and how you are going to work it into your paper. I also will like to get to see your argument on this side and what direction you are trying to take it in.
Annotation 6-Pop Culture Artifact 3
South Park Studios. (2015, Nov 19) Its Not a News Story!? [Video File]. Retrieved from https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IVfslRsNXUc
The video, It’s Not a News Story!? is a clip from a South Park episode where ads are getting so ridiculous that they basically take over people lives. Stephen Scotch, Butter’s father, give his two cents about ads and he gets really bad anxiety from the ads and feels like he’s just in a void full of ads. He explains that the elementary school newspaper is revolutionary because it is ad free. At the end of his rant, he turns to his wife, only to see she’s overly consumed in her electronic device, providing an immediate example for his worry.
South Park is known for taking a current issue and exaggerating it to the max. In this episode, the issue of newspaper versus internet is used. This clip will help my paper by Stephen’s reaction to both mediums. He is fearful of how overwhelming the internet is, and is extremely content with the simplicity of the elementary school newspaper. The simplicity, as well as the fact that newspapers get straight to the point, is one of the major topics for my paper.

McLeod, K., & DiCola, P. (2011). Creative license: The law and culture of digital sampling. Durham: Duke University Press.
This journal talks about the law of digital sampling, how it started as well as the history of the years. It also talks about those rappers and artist that has sampled material illegally such as Vanilla Ice in comparison to other Rappers that sampled other rappers material but did it by copyrighting it. This journals dives into the ways that music should be legally sampled. In addition, to how it should not be.
This journal will help me in my paper because my overall paper talks about the authenticity of sampling, so this was a great resource in aiding me with the general information and have a structured argument to help prove my point on the authenticity in the way that the new generation sample music to recreate new songs. This source also allowed me to get more details about different incidents where sampling was taken to court or illegally sampling was brought upon to different rappers.

Lindenbaum, J. (1999, April 8). Music Sampling and Copyright Law.
This journal gives a brief history of music sampling focusing on mainly hip- hop artist because of the culture and the need of mixing and spinning songs together. It also talks about the copyright laws and how they come into play with music sampling. This journal really narrows down on how songs are considered to be illegally sampled as well as listing examples of some rappers that has illegally used someone else’s material in their work.
This journal will help me in my paper because it will help me explain why the  that the new generation use samples of songs in their work is considered authentic in the way the use them and the creditation that they give to those artist that the material is sampled from. It also has examples of rappers in the older generation that has used sampling illegally and it will help me strengthen my argument in favor of the newer generation technique.

This makes me interested in finding out what your paper is going to be about. Because with Kanye west and the Kardashians in the media all the time and using the media to their advantage maybe that could be a suggestion to talk about in your paper
Annotation 5:Identifying the Antecedents of Celebrity Authenticity.
Moulard, J. G., Garrity, C. P., & Rice, D. H. (2015). What makes a human brand authentic? Identifying the antecedents of celebrity authenticity. Psychology & Marketing, 32(2), 173-186.
This article talks bout what factors make the celebrity authentic. it mentions that stability and rarity are the main factors that validates authenticity. celebrity authenticity is recognized by the celebrity being consistent with its true self over time. This article is really valuable for paper because it gives  support to my thesis  statement and my argument about the celebrity image and how it is perceived in social media and tabloids

Since I am reading your paper now, I kind of got an idea , so I think adding this source into your argument will strengthen it as well
Jenny McCarthy Interview
FRONTLINE. (2015, March 23). Retrieved March 17, 2016, from http://www.pbs.org/wgbh/frontline/article/jenny-mccarthy-were-not-an-anti-vaccine-movement-were-pro-safe-vaccine/
This article that was published last year gave interesting insight and history to Jenny McCarthy’s strong opinion regarding childhood vaccines. In the article, she claims that she is not anti-vaccination, but pro- safe vaccination. What she means by that is that there are too many shots being given too soon. In addition to the surplus of vaccines scheduled to be given to children, she feels that parents should be able to choose which ones their child receives. When her son was diagnosed with autism she took it upon herself to research and work to find a way to help her son recover. In this article she provides her timeline of the events that lead up to her son’s diagnosis. She pleads with science to study the claims that she has made regarding mercury, MMR, and aluminum. She feels that the studies are not being done.
I can use this article in my paper because it shows various themes that parents claim when avoiding vaccinating their children. Jenny McCarthy focuses on three major reasons, and ends her interview stating that her family has history of auto-immune disorders which would lead her to not vaccine if she were to have another child. Her strong opinions, quotes, and position are good representation of parents resons to not vaccinate.

Smith, M. R. (2014). “Or a Real, Real Bad Lesbian”: Nicki Minaj and the Acknowledgement of Queer Desire in Hip-Hop Culture.Popular Music & Society, 37(3), 360-370.
This article talks about the masculine image the female rappers had to have to be considered a rapper to their fellow opposite sex competition in the industry. It also talks about the new generation female rapper Nicki Minaj and her image that she is upholding through her music to be considered one of the best female rappers. It gives some examples and descriptions about older generation female rappers as well, and the image they had at the time to be considered authentic. Nicki Minaj authenticity is defended in this article saying the hard queer image that the males fantasised about in actuality are the image the older generation used to judge the female rappers off of to see if they were real rappers.
This article will help me to strenghten my paper because it will allow for me to build on the argument about authenticity on for the females in the hip hop industry, and also to see what image older generation female rappers had to be considered authentic. Also, it gives me an example of a female rapper that is in this generation that has gotten the title of a real authentic rapper which is Nicki Minaj. This article allows for me to put in information about the transition of hip hop for the female rappers as well for their music to be considered authentic, so this will help strengthen my argument.

Kosoff, E. (2005). Music Cultures in the United States: The introduction. Psychology Press This book explores the background differences that occurred throughout the hip hop culture. It touch base on how mtv has changed how the hip hop culture in some aspects was broadcasted and had became one of the main programs to broadcast hip hop in the 1980s. This book also talks about the things that changed or had an impact about the typical figure of a rapper at that time that was considered authentic or original hip hop. The way that women are looked at as being authentic in the hip hop world and what they were considered to be novelty acts for them.
This book will help my paper because it will help me one reach out to investigate the female side of the hip hop culture and what standards or criteria they have to be considered authentic. This will also help me when trying to explain and reason with the the differentiation between why the new generation hip hop is still authentic due to the change that had occurred throughout the culture.

I would honestly agree to this because I get mad every time I see it on tv. I feel like your paper will be very interesting because it is a sensitive situation when it comes to females and their pregnancies and I can't wait to read it when it's done.
Annotation #2:
Father-Daughter Communication About Sex Moderates The Association Between Exposure To MTV’s 16 and Pregnant/Teen Mom and Female Students’ Pregnancy-Risk Behavior
This particular article highlights the impact father’s have on their daughter and their sexual life or lack thereof. They did a survey that gathered date from 313 female students. It says that females are more likely participate in sexual intercourse after talking to their mother where as when they talk to their father about sex they are more likely to shy away from the thought of having sexual intercourse.
Researchers guess that televisions representation of sex is painted as a recreational activity that doesn’t come with consequences. Instead they say that it glamorizes and gives them stardom by becoming a mom at a young age. They said that the programs “16 and Pregnant” and “Teen Mom” were made to show the young teens the “honest and unpleasant truth of teen pregnancy.” (Dolgen, 2011)

I like the idea that you decided to use a chart to help make your argument in your paper. Personally I feel that would be a great source and that's a great idea I might true to incorporate into mines

“How Much Should I Weigh?” Rush University Medical Center. Web Accessed. March 1, 2016.
This website shows what the healthy weight is for certain heights from a University Medical Center. On this shows the heights of models and how much they should weigh according to their BMI.
This can help me because countries are claiming that they only accept models within a certain healthy BMI. Although the BMI might be deemed healthy and accurate according to this website of a proper BMI chart there are flaws in which don’t calculate bone structure of gender differences in which the BMI’s might not be an accurate reading of health.

Riesch, R J., "Hip Hop Culture: History and Trajectory" (2005). Research Papers. Paper 32. http://opensiuc.lib.siu.edu/gs_rp/32 This research journal talks about the hip-hop culture from when it started and how it changed over time. Though out this journal it was stressed how important authenticity is in the industry and how many artist establish it in the genre. This journal explores the overall concept of hip-hop from the criteria that some use to say that you are real hip hop culture. It also laid out the basic criteria for someone to be considered authentic or real in the hip hop culture as well. It has general history and information about past artist that helped shaped the hip hop culture as we know today. In addition to addressing the inclusion of other genres that helped contribute as well. This journal will help me in my paper because it state some criteria that matched mines when it came to the standards of authenticity. And it also will help me because it has the general knowledge of hip hop from how it started and how it transformed and how the music was created. That particular concept will help support my overall argument in my research to why the generation of hip hop should be considered authentic. #ENG211c

As I read your sources I'm actually interested more and more each week to read your paper and see what you come up with.
Annotation 5: 2nd article from ODU Database
Rabinor, J. R. (1999). The Therapist’s Voice. Eating Disorders, 7(2), 157.
The main purpose of this journal is to discuss eating disorders in women and women body images. The journal does focus on a few different things. First, it focuses on how eating disorders come about and what kind of treatments there are. Second, it focuses on body image disorders in women. Third, it focuses on how deep psychic pain looks like. Fourth, it focuses on how anorexia and bulimia start. Lastly, it focuses on women having an obsession with working out, losing weight, and getting the “perfect” body.
This journal could be useful in my final paper on the “perfect” body. I could use this journal to talk about eating disorders such as bulimia and anorexia. This ties into there being too much pressure put on women to have the perfect body because the pressure starts to affect their health. It could also be useful because it shows that the pressure put on a woman starts to affect their health because she tries to achieve a “perfect” body.

This is true with me actually, I eat a lot and it seem like I never gain weight. Which I am actually happy about lol. But like you said most people think that I diet or I have an eating disorder which I do not my metabolism is just fast.
Annotation 2
Rees, Alex. “7 Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show Models Reveal What They Really Eat: “I don’t diet”” Cosmopolitan. Dec 2, 2014.
This article is about Victoria’s Secret models being interviewed on what they really eat and their diet. A lot acknowledged the fact that they don’t diet by talking about the fact that they do have a fast metabolism, they can and do eat whatever they want encouraging really good restaurants and food.
This can help me in my argument 2 paper because as a counterargument models are healthy and no matter how hard they try they can’t gain weight and not all models have eating disorders. Even though this is my argument my counterargument would be the statistics are far more in women who don’t have a fast metabolism compared to those who do.
