The end.
And so we have arrived at the end.
I am officially a registered nurse.
I have completed my LPN to RN and am now seeking a job at the local hospital.
I cannot believe how fast 5 years have gone by when i first started nursing school as a LPN student with no medical knowledge and now i’m a RN with so much knowledge and so much motivation to help others, all the struggles, success, pain, triumphs and failures that have come along my path.
If you’ve been here for a while, thank you.
If you’ve stumbled upon my tumblr and are a student nurse, go from the bottom up and enjoy the process, it was all worth it.
I have no regrets because every choice i took have led me to where i am today.
And with this, i am signing off.
Saludos y mi ta desea tur hende lo mihor.
(Greetings, and i wish everybody the best)
With love,
Michella, RN.

The end has finally arrived..
I passed my last clinical successfully.
I passed my thesis, both the written and the oral presentation.
I am finally here. At the end.
It has not hit me yet but it probably will on the 29th of June when they announce all the names of the graduates...
I will make a final update soon as then my Tumblr has reached its goal.
My whole LPN journey and LPN to RN journey, it’s struggles and triumphs.. i never thought i would become a nurse.
Me, an introvert.. someone who used to spend all my days gaming and being lost in fiction since it’s much more comforting and less scary than getting up and getting into something as terrifying as working with the lives of people... and socializing!
But here i am, naturally gifted at nursing and a LPN and now.... RN??
I am so blessed. All the discipline. Hard work. Sacrifice. It was all worth it.
It feels like such a relief.. almost like i can finally breathe again.
What an honor it is, to take care of people and watch them heal.
What an honor it is to give selflessly to those in need.
What an honor is to comfort the dying and mend the broken.

I am at the end again and it feels surreal.
This time it really is the end.
I have succesfully finished my clinical on the oncology floor and i will start my last clinical at a psychiatric depot clinic in two weeks.
This upcoming week i will be doing a very short internship at a dialysis center.
The psychiatric clinical is at a place where injury and assault is very common since you will have to deal with patients in their home, homeless that are sometimes agitated, aggressive and see you as an enemy.
I also already sent in my thesis which i based it on Pancreatitis.
The thesis is scored the same as the one from the LPN so you have 6 different sections that need a passing grade and then you present a case study which will grant you a go or no go and if you get a go, you get to do an oral presentation defending your thesis and research and if you complete both; you graduate.
So fingers crossed on my last clinical and thesis.. but i’m almost done with my LPN to RN study.. i never thought i’d get here but it’s been 100% hard work, sacrifice and dedication!!

Summer break is coming to an end and so is my LPN-to-RN study.
Allot happened in this summer break, i mean, I got engaged !
Tumblr media
But speaking of my study, on the 1st of September 2021, the last year of my LPN to RN study will begin. The beginning of the End. Like the actual END.
There will be a semester dedicated to theory learning of various subjects and also learning how to start IV’s, IV medications, blood draw etc.
The second semester, i will be at the hospital finishing my study by doing two clinicals at two different wards of the hospital.
The first clinical will be my ‘specialization’ of choice, i’ve chosen oncology and the second clinical needs to be at a psychiatric ward since i’ve already been to surgery and general.
The first clinical will most likely decide whether or not i graduate (the same as the LPN study) and if i get a good grade for that one then i will just have to make sure i finish the second clinical with a passing grade and i’ll be done with my journey.
LET’S F***CKING DO THIS!!

Almost in my graduating year.
Well i’m in my exam-week right now and honestly it’s going terrible.
I’m so tired and in need of a break that i found myself, once more, studying a day before and with so many things to study, my brain just wasn’t having it yesterday and i bombed today’s exam.
I have two more exam’s to do for this week but man i am needing a break, i’m so glad it’s almost vacation time because i am burning out.
So far, speaking academically i am doing great.
No bad grades, even passed two exams that i did yesterday.
Besides bombing the one from today (which wasn’t much to learn but my brain just went into block-mode).
Hopefully i pass the 2 upcoming one’s and honestly, i’m not even aiming for a high score like i did in the LPN study, i just wanna be done with this shit.
Riding my motorcycle really does bring me quite allot of peace of mind and i will be trying out motovlogging/scenery recording on my motorcycle when i’m in summerbreak.
Oh well that’s the last update for now on the LPN-to-RN journey.
Nursing school is tough but it’s worth it.

LPN-to-RN clinicals update! (week 17)
Boy oh boy, i have disappeared lmao.
Tumblr media
So i passed my first clinical at the surgical ward and i’m now almost at the end of my clinical in the COVID-19 ward.
I didn’t update because at first i was so against going to the covid ward since i fell in the risico group with my lung issues and the request was so last minute but i decided to bite the bullet and go for it.
For the first 3 weeks i got bullied off and on by a very insecure nurse that had an obvious personal issue with me but thankfully she left the job and honestly the place is so much better without her negative energy around.
I’m now more than halfway through my clinical and will be done with it by the end of this month. I also got the COVID-19 vaccine and got quite a bit of side effects but i’m all fine now, i’ll take any immunity... even more now after seeing covid at it’s worst and seeing how sick some of these patients get.
In all honesty; working in the covid ward has been pretty tough mentally.
And thats an understatement but we are making it work!
After these upcoming 3 weeks i will be returning full time at school for a year and i’m excited for it if i’m being honest since i really am looking forward to learn more nursing skills.
After a year, i will have the final 2 clinicals and fingers crossed should be done with the LPN-to-RN program.
So let’s get this bread, the end is near..
i’m too sleep deprived to celebrate though!
Tumblr media
If you are reading this update, i hope that your journey is going well, that you are safe and doing okay.
Being a nursing student is absolutely not easy but the lives you get to touch, save, give a second chance to and brighten.. there’s nothing like it.

Week 10 Clinical update.
7-ish weeks ago, i made a post saying how much i hated my clinical and how bad everything was going and immediately after posting it i had to delete it.
Because that was just stress, new routine and fear speaking.
I am finalizing my first LPN to RN clinical in a surgical ward and i am going to miss it!
I learned SO much, got to DO so much stuff that i never got to experience as a LPN student.
I learned to deal with patients that are totally oriented and alert and not demented for the first time lol and it was just wild.
The funniest memory i have so far that always makes me giggle is this one patient i met, he was 2 days post transurethral resection of the prostate and he was very hyper and wouldn’t stay still and because of that his urine drainage bag came loose and he soiled himself and the bed.
So the exchange went like this:
Whoa. Ok sir i think its a good idea you go take a shower so i can change your bedding as you get clean, do you have your own personal soap or do you need one?
He nods so i go grab a single use soap for him.
He starts smelling the soap and i kid you not. The man ATE the soap.
This completely alert and oriented man just sniffed and ate the single use soap.
Tumblr media
And i ain’t gon judge him cause i used to eat dust when i was a kid and now i’m allergic to every micro particle on earth.
But all that aside. I’ve learned so much and seen so much and also learned from small mistakes that i feel like i’ve grown so much as a nurse.
I also met some amazing patients and fellow nurses whom have become my friends!
Rotations are coming up in two weeks and for my second clinical i’m supposed to go on the COVID ward but i’m trying to see if i can avoid that since i’ve been having many lung issues with my asthma that unfortunately decided to reappear after 20ish years.
Owell. Hopefully i will update if i passed this clinical THIS FRIDAY!

LPN to RN update.
Tumblr media
The lord definitely did not protect me from the insomnia i signed up for lmao.
It’s been 6 interesting weeks.
So since the pandemic, everything is different and my school definitely did not cope well with the whole online thing since it was the first time for many of the teachers and we’ve lost some precious time because of it.
I’m not a big fan of how the LPN-to-RN program is put together because of how it actually is easier and more relaxed if you started straight up in the RN program. (i couldn’t do that due to not graduating with biology from my high school hence why i needed to do the LPN program first.)
The way the LPN-to-RN program is set is that they basically cram everything the RN’s learned in their whole second year AND third year into one quarter semester for us.. so imagine that!
(We start as third year RN’s, the RN program here is 4 years.)
Also a few days ago, i erased my i-cloud data to save space and lost all my notes, highlights and school books from all my devices but for that i blame pure stupidity on my part.
Because i was the best graduate of the LPN program, i am being considered for a ‘permanent’ internship for the upcoming clinicals at my local hospital... it’s basically game-on between 18 students with the highest grades fighting for a spot. (only 15 will be accepted.)
You have to understand that where i live we only have ONE hospital and the chances of anyone being hired as a new grad isn’t very high so with this opportunity + giving all you have + trying as much as you can to step up and become the best nurse you can be = will increase these chances if you are accepted in this once-in-a-lifetime opportunity.
The interview for the opportunity is supposed to be this Thursday and my first exams will be in 3 weeks followed by 20 weeks of clinicals.
I am sleep deprived, tired and constipated but giving my all.
Until the next update!

Back to the grind.
Tomorrow (In less than 12 hours!) i will start my morning with my first ever class as a RN student!
The courses are all online except for just one class that i will have to go to school for but i am excited!
I’m going to try my absolute best to nail my grades by giving everything i can give by studying hard, staying motivated and being disciplined.
I know the LPN to RN study isn’t easy but i’ve always been a sucker for a challenge,
I’m a RN-to-be, LET’S DO THIS!

I’m finally a NURSE.
My main goal with this tumblr has been completed!
Yesterday they announced who graduated from our college healthcare unit.
The unit consists of many students studying to be pharmacist’s assistant, social workers, RN & LPN.
Well i was happy to hear my classmates and of course my own name as a graduate, imagine my complete surprise when it was announced that not only was i the best graduate of the LPN study, i am the best graduate of the whole healthcare UNIT at my college!
I haven’t graduated in 9 years after high school and i never really made it much anywhere, so to study my butt off, make sacrifices and be able to graduate as the best of the best has me quite shocked, still.
But i can finally announce that...ladies and gentlemen,
My name is Michella and i’m a NURSE.
& I’m also the best graduate of the healthcare unit & LPN study of the year 2020 of my college.
I am PROUD, THANKFUL, GRATEFUL and ECSTATIC.
Lpn to RN, HERE I COME!!!

I PASSED MY THESIS.
Ladies and gentleman, i am DONE with my LPN study.
I had to do my oral presentation and i got a 9.8!!
(Our grades are 1 - 10, the minimum passing grade is 5,5 and 10 is the max. excellent grade.) so i almost got a perfect score for my oral presentation of my thesis.
It hasn’t hit me yet that i’m basically a nurse.
I officially graduate and get sworn in, in about a month..
I’ve already sent in my admission for the LPN to RN program..
It hasn’t hit me just yet.
It will probably hit me when i get sworn in.

I passed my thesis.
My retake was successful, didn’t have too many mistake to work on to begin with but guys, i did it.
All i have left is to present a 45 minute presentation on a topic of my choice that meets the requirements of my examinator and fellow teachers.
The best part of it all?
My bestie has also passed her thesis.
It’s kinda weird that basically from the whole class it’s just me and her at the end. I just wish my classmates were more serious with their education but hey, to each their own i guess.
If all is well and the presentation goes correctly we might be graduating in about 3/4 months.
Then the LPN to RN adventure begins.
I’m almost Nurse Michella!
