Hello! Just a friendly reminder that USERGIF is a blog for GIF EFFECTS only.
Q: WHAT CAN I TAG #USERGIF IN?
A: GIFSETS, TUTORIALS, & RESOURCES WITH EFFECTS LIKE:
Animated elements (moving text, zoom-in, etc.)
Blending/double exposure
Color manipulation (rainbow sets, color palette sets, etc.)
Filters (neural filters)
Multi-gif layouts
Overlays (textures, shapes, etc.)
Transitions (glitch, fade, linear wipe, motion blur, etc.)
Typography
And more effects!
We've noticed lots of users tagging us in gifsets without gif effects and, while we appreciate you as creators, we encourage you to tag other source blogs since we won't reblog those posts. Keeping our tracked tag effects-exclusive makes the queuing process simpler and less time-consuming for our queue managers. We hope you understand. Thanks!

Nik hi! Gif learner anon here! Is there any cheaper editing tool that adobe photoshop? 20$ a month is bit expensive especially since i am doing this as a hobby. Do you have an alternatives?
hi!! there are a few ps alternatives I've heard of (but haven't personally used), the most commonly used one being photopea! I have this list of photopea gif-making tutorials and I believe it isn't software, but a website — so no DL required!
the other options are escaping my mind atm 😅 but photopea is the alternative I've heard most about (and mostly good things)!
way wayyyyy back in the day, before I had access to photoshop, I used to use a program called GIMP (I think?) but idk if that's still around, and from my memory, it wasn't that great lskdfjlsdj
also also, if you really want to try your hand with PS and not use an alternative, I know lots of people have had success getting access to PS w/o paying. check out completeresources for some how-tos: for windows and for mac. or you could ask in a creator network or ask a trusted gif-making friend! I, sadly, have never done this as I'm lucky enough to have PS access through work — so that's as much help as I'm able to offer on this front. but I hope something here is usable for you to get started with gif-making! :)

His eyes were as blue as a desert sky, his hair the light brown of the sands they had just crossed. A close-cropped beard followed the thin of a strong jaw, but could not quite hide the dimples when he smiled. I always loved his smile.

Motion Blur Gif Tutorial
Anon asked how I created the motion blur effect in the first gif in this Boba Fett gifset, so here’s a 5-step tutorial. It’s very, very easy but also very late/early and I suck at explaining things like this so I hope it’s clear!
What you’ll need:
Basic gif-making knowledge using the video timelines method (this won’t work with frame-by-frame animation)
I’m using CC 2020, but any version of Photoshop that has the timeline option will work
Tip: This effect works better on gifs with minimal movement

I’ve gotten some requests to make a tutorial for the effects I’ve used in these sets here and here. Hopefully this all makes sense and is actually helpful! This tutorial is made assuming you already know how to make gifs and will be done using photoshop on a mac. If you have any questions or any other requests for tutorials please send me an ask! I used this tutorial here myself to learn, but I wanted to make a more step by step tutorial for those who are more visual learners like myself.
tutorial under the cut, please help me out by reblogging ♡
