I hate, hate, HATE the term “affordable housing.” I hate that we’ve normalized it. I hate that we just accept that the majority of housing, a basic human right, is unaffordable to much of the population. Housing should be affordable as a baseline. If rich people want to add arcades and gold-plated hot tubs on top so be it, but everyone, everyone, regardless of income level, should have access to a clean, comfortable home with enough light and space to make life worth living.

Parents are supposed to love their children, right? It’s one of those values so hard-coded into our societies that we almost take it for granted. We know, though, how often parents don’t love their children, and we know how often parents put their own self-interest ahead of their kids’ futures. Succession’s argument extends this core sadness out to an entire species and an entire planet.
But we keep believing anyway. The children of abusers hope that, finally, their parents might see them and love them, and Succession puts us in the shoes of abuse survivors over and over again, as they hope that Logan will just turn some corner and do the right thing. But we know he won’t. He can’t. He’s too far gone. Sometimes, parents don’t love their children. This is one of those times.
So you find love elsewhere. And what changes in season three of Succession is that Kendall, Roman, and Shiv finally realize they have each other. Nothing has changed; everything has changed.
-  Nothing changed and everything changed in Succession’s third season, by Emily VanDerWerff

I think the most unrealistic thing about stranger things is that everyone could climb that rope in and out of the upside down.

Sometimes my brain likes to conjure up the saddest little backstories for Steve Harrington like how his mom wanted a huge family, Steve was their first baby to make it all the way to term but after him she kept having miscarriages. She lost herself so much while trying to have another kid that she forgot the one she already had, Steve never understood why she cried so much until he was older. Right around the same time, it clicked why his dad was never around anymore either. Cause after years of only having sex to try for a baby and then witnessing his wife being miserable and depressed, Mr Harrington started going on business trips all the time to cheat on her… so basically Steve was left alone with his grieving mother to practically raise himself until she started following his dad around to stop him from cheating on his trips.
He was always supposed to be a big brother, there’s 4 empty bedrooms in the hallway beside his own, just waiting to be filled and yet he’s all alone in the house most days.
