Once upon a time before the Hollow Knight we knew was selected, there was another Vessel who was thought to be pure to seal the infection. Alas, they were violent and dangerous. And it only got worse as they grew. One day during training the Vessel would snap and go on a killing spree within the White Palace, the Pale King stepped in and put a stop to the madness.

Renouncing his mistake, the vessel was bound by chains, a seal of binding, and heavy regret the Pale King would cast the shell of madness back into the depths from whence it came, and selected another to he the Pure Vessel. However the bug beast did not die. Scorned and unwanted, now once more awakened with the shadow of revenge in his heart. Cloaked in dripping nightmares, draped in the desire of bloodshed. The unwanted vessel, the scorned child. The Pale King and White Lady’s biggest mistake to roam Hallownest’s corpse once more.
