lesser known deities of the celtic pantheon that are underappreciated
Tumblr media
(i did one of these for the hellenic pantheon but there are A LOT more lesser known celtic deities since they’ve less influenced pop culture, so i may do a pt 2) (these are both welsh and irish)
1. Cordelia - goddess of summer and flowers
2. Domnu - goddess of the elements, ruler of the land of the dead
3. Gwydion - god of magick and illusion
4. Dagda - god of protection, warriors, and knowledge. also a fatherly deity. (he’s not super unknown, but i love him and think he’s lovely so he gets a mention)
5. Oghma - god of eloquence and writing
6. Rhiannon - goddess of horses, faeries, and the wind (again, not super obscure but i work with and honour her on my altar and she’s amazing and so she’s on this list)
7. Teutates - god of fertility, war, wealth
8. Scathach - goddess of healing magick and martial arts

Small Bottle Charm for Stability on your spiritual path
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Short Description
This bottle charm is for all of you who sometimes struggle on your spiritual path, who sometimes feel lost, who are having trouble with finding their own believes or simply for those who already have found their spiritual path but they are afraid that they might get lost again at some point in the future.
Ingredients
Salt
3 Mistletoe berries
Mistletoe leaves
Oak leaves
Lavender
Rosemary
Green candle (for sealing the bottle - you can use any colour that you associate with your spiritual path)
Note
When it comes to the preparation, you can check out my previous "Small Bottle Charm for Protection" post. The meditation will be different of course, but you should create your own for this spell, since my path is not same as yours and my meditation probably is not appropriate for your spiritual path.
Good luck!

Small Bottle Charm for Protection
Tumblr media Tumblr media
For my Protection charm I have used: - Bay leaf - Mistletoe - Rosemary - 3 small Quartz crystals - 3 Frankincense - Salt - 1 small bottle with cork (I believe mine is around 12 mL) - Black of white candle (I used those small cake candles)
Physical preparation: As in any magical or spiritual work, first, give yourself a bit of time to get in the mood for such things. The preparation could vary from listening to some specific music to meditation - it is important that you feel safe, prepared and ready.
Next, you should prepare the ingredients. In this stage, you can start to imagine, that is to visualize how the energy of protection is becoming stronger. While other ingredients are obviously very simple, leaves could be "troublesome" for some of you, so basically, if the leaves are already dry, you can crush them with your fingers - be sure that you use some plate underneath. If the leaves are dry, then you can use mortar and pestle or if you do not have one, you could cut them with scissors, knife or something similar.
When pouring ingredients into the bottle, I recommend you to start with the salt for a better aesthetic look of your bottle. Then you can add leaves and on the end frankincense and crystals. Close the bottle with the cork, but do not seal it with the candle yet - you have prepared your bottle physically, but the spiritual part is not done.
Spiritual preparation: Now, take your bottle into your hands, prepare yourself and start to visualize. First, visualize a protective energy which rises and starts to protect your whole body. When you feel ready and protected, imagine that the same protective energy is wrapping your little charm bottle too. Next, start to visualize how the bottle and ingredients in it are protecting you from any harm, you are almost like some sort of a superhero who cannot be harmed, anything that tries to harm you is being repelled. When this picture and energy becomes enough strong, see it entering your charm bottle - now, the charm bottle is a vessel for your strong protective energy. When you feel that the bottle has completely absorbed all of the energy, light your white or black candle and seal the top of the bottle. That is it, you have created your small protection charm.
Note: Feel free to add or remove any ingredient or slightly change the making process. I used those ingredients that I am associating with the protection energies, and also those were available back then when I was making this charm.
Good luck!

Samhain Celebration - Ritual
Tumblr media
Introduction (Meditation)
Sit in front of your altar and relax. Visualize that you are outside, somewhere in the fields - they are barren and harvested. The weather is slightly cold but you are dressed up well, only on your face and hands you can feel cold air. The sun has gone down, but it is still not dark yet. The sky is pretty much cloudy and you can notice that fog started to appear above the fields. In the distance, although it is not very far from you, you can see a light. You go towards that place.
After walking there for about 2-3 minutes, you see an interesting, a bit strange or even a spooky scene - in the middle of a field there is an open empty coffin and candles around it, you approach it. The light of the candles became much stronger since it has become dark. After a short examination of the place, you should enter the coffin and close it, once you are in. Now, think about the passed year - what positive and negative things happened to you? What have you left behind, what is not a part of your life anymore - it could be people, some of your traits that you wanted to change...? Give yourself a bit of time to think about it, and even allow yourself to feel sad, it is a time of separation and moving on after all.
After you have done contemplating, imagine now that your spirit is leaving your body and it goes out of a coffin. Note that you do not open coffin anymore, since you are a spirit, you easily went out. As you left the coffin, in the contact with the air and the earth, you got your new physical body. It looks the same as the previous one but still it feel very new, different. You also notice that you on changed a psychological level, you have become a new person. Now, stand in front of the coffin, give thanks for all learned lessons in the previous year, give thanks to your old body, bid it peace and farewell, then turn around and without looking back go back to the place from the beginning of a meditation.
When you are there, you look at the sky and you notice that the dawn is near. You take few deep breaths and feel energized, cleansed and consecrated by the chilly air. When you are ready, slowly return to the real world, to here and now and open your eyes...
Sacred circle
If you have a habit of drawing the circle, now it is time to do so. I would write the words I usually use, but since they are not on English, it sounds a bit silly when translated. It is important that you visualize and feel your sacred and safe space.
Invocation
After the sacred circle has been drawn, you can call those who you want you to join in your ritual. I have a habit of inviting goddess Morrígan, to who I pray often, my both family and "spiritual" ancestors and the nature spirits. (I call spiritual ancestors those people who I am not connected to by blood but who had a great influence on me, whether by spending time with them while they were alive or people that inspire me: artists, politicians etc.)
My invocations are usually like this:
"Goddess Morrígan, my dear ancestors and nature spirits, I invite you on this day when the veil is thin, so we can together celebrate the holiday of Samhain. Welcome!"
Celebration
This part of the ritual is classical religious ceremony. These are activities that I will do:
Giving thanks to the deities, ancestors and the nature spirits, with my own words
Making a small list consisting of 3 goals that I want to achieve in the next pagan year
Special prayer dedicated to my ancestors, with my own words
Divination
Feast and celebration - eating and drinking, listening to some music that we find suitable for the holiday we are celebrating, dancing etc.
Closing
Giving thanks and bidding a farewell to the deities, ancestors and the nature spirits and after that closing the sacred circle, if you previously have drawn it.
Small note: My personal practice is that I carve a pumpkin and make the dumb supper before the ritual.

Small happiness spell 🍊
What you’ll need
An orange
Sugar (brown or white)
Honey
Cinnamon
Lemon juice
Red wine or cider
Steps
Tumblr media
Peel the orange and separate its wedges
Place the wedges in a circle on a plate and charge them with your intent, in this case, happiness
Sprinkle sugar over the circle for sweetness, then cinnamon for spiritual power
Let honey drip at the center of the circle while saying: ‘For days doused in sunlight, I drip honeyed delight’
Add a few drops of lemon juice at the center of the circle and say: ‘For luck to come my way, I keep hexes at bay’
Now drip the alcohol at the center while saying: ‘For blessings along the road, I invoke powers of old’
Eat the orange one wedge at a time, starting from the top and working clockwise. Dip each of them in the mix at the center before eating.
Enjoy!

There are hardly any female werewolves because they break all the classic rules of femininity. They force you to confront female violence, strength, size, grotesqueness and uncontrollability. Historically female shapeshifters always shift into something dangerous (snake) or sleek (cat) or dainty (bird) but female werewolves ignore the masculine gaze completely. They're distorted beasts that have no ulterior motive except to destroy. Nothing about them is nurturing or modest. They're the opposite of what a woman "should be." Their omission from pop culture is not an accident.
