I need this fic so bad. I'm just thinking of Will taking a pint of his own blood and surprising Hannibal with Sanguinacio Dolce for their first anniversary. A cathartic experience for the both of them to know that Hannibal is consuming him in some way.

I think Post-Fall Will would stop Hannibal from killing Alana, NOT because of any lingering compassion or moral standing but out of jealousy.

I mean, just think of how intimate him killing her would be, how intimate Hannibal would make it, how he would allow nothing else. Killing Alana wouldn't be like killing just any other "pig", its personal for him.

He liked her, found her interesting. He enjoyed observing how much her morals differed from his own and how steadfast she was in adhering to them. He liked how confident she was in her decisions and how unhesitating she was to call out others for stepping out of line. All of these are traits that elude Will, all things he's insecure about, all things he himself was attracted to her for because he was probably envious of the ease to which she did it. And Hannibal liked those things about her.

When he told her he would kill her, it wasn't just a threat, it was a warning. He gave her a chance to leave unscathed, and she was the only person besides Will to get that chance ("we could leave tonight"). She was the only person besides Will to get that much care from him.

So he would hunt her down and, when he finally did kill her, it would be intimate. He would engage her til her very last breath. He'd fulfill the promise made between them.

And I have no doubt that he would eat her. He'd take her apart piece by piece. He would taste her body on his tongue, and once his stomach broke her down, she would flow in his bloodstream through every part of his body. Through his very heart.

And Will may be the only person Hannibal is unable to kill, but that also means that Will is the only person that will never experience the intimacy of having his life coaxed from his body by Hannibal's hand. And as long as Will is living, he will never be so intrinsically joined with Hannibal that they cannot be physically distinguished from one another.

And I think Will would fucking hate the idea of Alana ever getting to experience Hannibal in a way that he himself could not experience.

so i have a mildly popular “reblog and put in in the tags” post going around and its. very clear how many people don’t know how to interact with a tumblr post

so, first of all, tumblr’s culture has changed a lot in the past couple years. there’s a genuine community effort to not start any drama, and ironically a lot of the current hostility is an effort to keep things calm. there’s also a change in how people interact with posts, so if you haven’t been here in a while please skip down to the tags/replies/reblog with text section.

for newcomers: you should be reblogging posts about as liberally as you would like something on twitter. if you only like stuff, people will think you are rude/a bot. you’ve probably heard people talk about “cultivating your dash,” and thats because this platform is 100% centered around your dashboard. trending matters less, unfollowing and blocking in order to shape your dash into it’s best form is widely accepted, the majority of the content you’ll find and interact with will be because of your dash, and the only way to put things on your dash is to reblog them. tumblr users are deeply distrustful of algorithms and have largely turned off the “see posts your friends have liked” function (i recommend you also turn of the various algorithms in settings → general settings → dashboard preferences).

so, once you’ve reblogged a post, there’s three ways to add content to it. the tags, replies, and reblogging with text. all of them have different connotations

the tags: an inside voice. originally they were meant for organizing your blog (and they’re still used for this), but they’ve also morphed into a way to share thoughts that aren’t funny/insightful enough for non-followers to be interested in. when in doubt, put your comment in the tags

replies: basically talking to your friends in class. your followers have no way of finding your replies (they don’t pop up on the dash, nobody gets notified except for the original poster) so chances are, only the person who made the post is gonna see your comment. it’s for quick one-offs that you’re okay with other people overhearing, but really is only made for one person. they’re like a public dm

reblog with text: an outside voice. you’re getting up on a stage in town square and entertaining people. make sure it’s funny or insightful— bottom line, add something new to the conversation. you should use this the least

general rules of thumb: 

when in doubt, reblog. people will judge you if your blog is only personal posts and you only interact with other content by liking it.  

the only things people will judge you for reblogging are personal vent posts. leave a like to give a little virtual hug

if a post is asking about your personality/opinions (i.e: tell me what’s the last tv show you watched, that kind of thing) put it in the tags 

also if you see a nice edit, gifset, or art, reblog and say something nice in the tags! it’s that nice sweet spot of common enough that no one will notice but uncommon enough to make the artist’s day

The penetration. The blood spurting. The arch of Will's neck. How wide his mouth opens. Dolarhyde's thighs spread over him. His hand sliding down to Will's chest.

The way he's destroyed Will's face, probably damaged his teeth and palate so he'll need reconstructive surgery and speech therapy. The way people will stare at his scar like they stared at Dolarhyde when he was a kid, making Will more of a social outcast than he already was.

The way Will spent a month getting inside Dolarhyde's head and understands him better than anyone else in the world. The way Will imagined himself killing and doing unspeakable things to the Jacobis, Leedses, and Molly. The way he watched the video of Dolarhyde biting off Chilton's lips, vividly experiencing that violence from the perspective of both victim and perpetrator, all while having orchestrated the scene, wielding Dolarhyde like a weapon. The way Will is now experiencing the victim's perspective in reality, after already dying once in Dolarhyde's arms.

The way that, once he's changed, Dolarhyde is not flesh, but light and air and color and quick sounds quickly ended, like a balloon of color bursting. The way he's more important for the changing because he has aided in the glory, the majesty of Will's Becoming. The way he becomes a part of Will, sharing with him the way he couldn't share with Reba.

I've read two robot/ai AUs to-date and I'm starving for more, so I will pick it 100 times over, but there is some fantastic potential with these other AUs.

Nurse!Will with atrocious bedside manner, a bleeding heart for certain patients, and zero patience for others would absolutely catch the attention of the esteemed Dr. Lecter.

"Ritual Gone Wrong" feels like a direct parallel to S2s "I'm a great fisherman" Arc, where Will would realize how absolutely fucked he is because he doesn't have a hold on this monster that he invited into his life. He would love Hannibal. And he would be unable to hate Hannibal for the ways he hurts Will because he'd just be following his nature.

Lost at sea has some perfect opportunities for injury care and cuddling-for-warmth tropes. It also has a great setup for Hannibal waring with himself over whether to eat Will & satiate his (literal) hunger or to experience Will & possibly starve to death. Great angst potential if he chooses wrong.

Drug!Will also has some fantastic angst and mindfuckery potential. Hannibal hallucinating a drug as a cognitive individual who only shows up when he's high, who's unlike anyone else he's met in real life, and who gives him companionship in a time where he feels the most alone. Comfort, followed by pain every time he sees Will. The destruction of himself the more he seeks out Will and "you and I have begun to blur".
