Imbolc Spread
Here is a simple four card spread that you can do to welcome the changing of seasons!
Tumblr media
Imbolc marks the halfway point between winter and summer, and is the perfect time to prepare for the coming spring. Read more about Imbolc here.
Past: What can you learn from the past season? Winter can be rough for some people, maybe you were put through the wringer this past season too. What is something you can glean from this experience so that you can learn from this?
Present: What energy do you need to bring into this next season? It’s important to learn from the past and plan for the future, but make sure you are able to stay present and grounded even as the weather is bleak. So, what energy should you bring with you into this changing of seasons that can help you to learn, prepare, and pursue what you need to?
Prepare: Anything you would need to prepare for this coming season? This is the time of the year that farmers and gardeners start to prep their lands and plant their seeds for the spring; what is something you can prepare for that you will need to grow or nurture in the springtime?
Pursue: What is something you need to pursue during this time? This could be a goal that you set earlier this year but you have yet to follow through on, is this something you could be pursuing now, during this halfway between winter and spring?
I haven't done this exact spread yet, I plan to do it the day of Imbolc. I'll share my experience with it if I feel like it's ok to share :)
Let me know if you try out this spread, I would love to know how you feel about it!!!

Let’s Talk Litha!: Celebrating the Summer Solstice
June 21st marks this year’s Summer Solstice - the Sabbat known as Litha (or Midsummer)! If you celebrate the Wheel of the Year, Litha is one of the key points in the calendar: The summer solstice marks the Sun’s peak of power, and also marks the longest day in the year!
Litha, or, The Summer Solstice
Litha marks the longest day of the calendar year - the Summer Solstice - and is positioned at the bottom, Southernmost quarter point in the Wheel of Year. Traditionally, this is a great time to commune and connect with the Sun, do solar magic, and use the Sun’s peak power to spellcast, charge, and cleanse.
Colors: Red, orange, and other fiery, bold tones
Incense & Scents: Dragon’s blood, orange, musks (personal correspondences here - use your own for max results!)
Altar Setup: Find stones and crystals that have washed up on the summer shore, local flowers, seasonal fruits, and plenty of candles. A bonfire is traditional (a red candle is practical!)
The Litha Feast: What would a Sabbat be without a feast? Litha is a perfect time to eat outdoors (if possible!). Traditional foods include herbed breads and pastries (baked!), desserts and dishes with summer fruits (try berries, stone fruits, or citrus, depending on what’s local to you!), cold cooked poultry for our omnivore witches, and flower or berry wines. More modern foods for Litha could include potato salads, dishes made with lavender or sorrel, peppery foods, or dandelion greens.
Litha Traditions:
Light a bonfire and jump over it (if it’s small enough!) to cleanse yourself of past ills.
Stay up on Midsummer Eve to wait for the rising sun.
Dispose of old amulets in the Litha fire.
Work magic with stone circles.
Make speeches to Fortuna, the lady of Fortune (is my Hellenic Revivalism showing?).
Phone past friends and invite them over.
Honor the Oak tree by paying one a visit in your local neighborhood.
Lead the way to your Litha celebration with a torchlit procession (or lantern or sparkler-lit, as it were!).
Magic for Litha: Healing, purification, cleansing, fire, protection, rebirth, power, sun magic, magic with stones and crystals, reaffirmations, and oaths.
Have at it, witches! (and link me to your Litha altars/plans/feasts! I’m a sucker for peeking on all your aesthetics & magics :>)

✨ Tarot Myths ✨
❌ Real tarot readers are never wrong
You are probably going to be wrong sometimes and your predictions might not come true, especially when you’re just learning how to read for yourself. It’s completely okay. Reflect on what you might have done wrong and learn from it. Don’t stress yourself about it.
❌ You need to get an official tarot deck
No deck is better than the other. And there is also no superior or ‘official’ deck. You can use whatever set of cards you want, you can even create your own, it is all about the reader at the end of the day. It doesn’t matter how expensive or cheap your deck is. But also don’t support anyone stealing any artist’s design!
❌ You shouldn’t read for others if you aren’t confident/qualified enough
Reading for others might actually be easier because your personal emotions aren’t getting involved. Now, I definitely wouldn’t charge clients if I wasn’t confident on giving a good quality reading, but reading for your friends is essentially harmless and great practise.
❌ Tarot decks have to be gifted
Definitely not. I know that it is a tradition for some to receive their first tarot deck from their elders. But that doesn’t mean you can’t buy your own cards. And you really don’t have to be afraid about the deck becoming any less magical or special.
❌ Having more tarot and oracle decks makes you a better reader
This is kind of a no-brainer but I wanted to mention it anyways. It doesn’t matter how many or what kind of cards you use. Having hundred different oracle and tarot decks doesn’t make you a good reader.
❌ You need a certificate to become a professional tarot reader
There are many different certifications you can get. You usually go through a course and at the end you have to pass an exam or give a reading. I find these so unnecessary. Most professional and good quality tarot readers don’t have any certificates. Tarot is a life-long study and getting a certificate doesn’t make you any better. Also, please don’t pick a reader based on their certification.
❌ There is a one right way of interpreting each card
Everyone interprets the cards differently and that’s absolutely okay! It is actually very important to learn what the cards mean for you and to understand how to use that for different questions and situations.
❌ There’s no need to read reversals
I know that some of you might have a different opinion on this. When I first started with tarot, I also didn’t read reversals but later on realised how significant they are. If the card clearly comes out reversed, it wants to be read in that way.

a spell to make a home cozier
Tumblr media
here is a little ritual you can do to bring warmth, joy and harmony to a home to make it feel cozier and more welcoming. best done during a full moon, but you can do it any time. you will need:
☾ a small bowl of ceramic, wood or glass
☾ a clove of garlic (bringing warmth + togetherness to a home)
☾ a sprinkle of lavender flowers (tranquility and calm)
☾ a sprig of pine (home blessing, cleansing, grounding)
☾ a brown candle (home and hearth magick)
sit in the main area of your home. light your brown candle; sit comfortably on the floor or couch and meditate on the candle for a while. warm your hands with its flame.
set the offering bowl in front of the candle. take the garlic clove in your hands and visualize the way you want your home to feel: warm, lived-in and welcoming. warm the clove over the candle-flame briefly and set it in the bowl.
take your lavender flowers in your hands. close your eyes, take a deep breath and inhale the scent of them. let it calm you, as it will calm the energy of your home. place the flowers atop the garlic.
lastly, take the sprig of pine. use it like a wand; point it toward all four corners of the room you’re in. place it against your heart, and set it in the bowl.
whisper to the bowl: “may your magick bless this home with kindness and warmth.” blow out the candle; place the bowl on a windowsill, mantle, or coffee table for three nights. on the third night, sprinkle its contents outside your front door.

Witchcraft for the Chronically Fatigued
Tumblr media
Fatigue looks at things such as tiredness, drowsiness, exhaustion, weakness, lethargy and memory issues and says “I can do all that and more!”. It leaves you feeling utterly trapped in your own body; unable to move, or even think at times. It fluctuates, but is always looming.
While this post is open for all, it is written for those who truly relate to this all-consuming feeling (due to ME/CFS, other chronic illnesses, mental illness, or undiagnosed causes). Not all of these may work for you, but hopefully they inspire something that will. For general low energy witchcraft, check out my Bedridden Witch Series!
As always: witchcraft is to be used in addition to proper medical care, treatment and medication; not as a sole alternative.
To draw energy:
If you cannot produce your own, magically created will be just fine!
Crystals.
I tend to use clear quartz for an energy boost, but trust your intuition; if something calls to you, it’s for a reason.
Keep it near your bedside table, under your pillow, hold it in your hand or place it on your body where you feel the fatigue most strongly centered.
When on the go, carry it in your pocket or wear as jewelry. If it is larger, carry in a bag and hold it when you need it.
Charge using a charging board or the elements.
Crystals for fatigue
Waters.
Physically touching water brings me energy. I keep jars of snow, rain, storm, river, stream (etc, etc.) water and will dip my fingers in it and mark that parts of my body where the fatigue feels strongest. Be aware of pollutants and do not ingest!
The same method can be done with tap water (or water charged under the sun or moon)
Drink sun water or sun tea (start with drinking safe water and let it absorb the energies of the sun).
Some people find moon water to be energizing (same process as above, just with the moon).
See also: Bedridden witch: Bath edition.
Other elements.
Note what is energizing to you and what is draining to you. Consider: the sun, moon (and it’s phases), weather (rain, overcast, snow, storm, wind), cold vs. hot, the earth, fire, air, etc.
Once you find which elements are energizing to you, find ways to incorporate them into your life. Examples: jars of different waters or soils, rocks collected from places, candles, and more.
I usually draw energy up from the earth by placing my palms flat towards the earth by the sides of my body. So if I was lying down, my arms would be at my sides with my palms facing down.
Expose yourself or protect yourself. I’ll use my personal experiences as an example here… Rain often energizes me. When it rains, I’ll open my windows, and if I’m able I’ll step outside or collect some water. On the flipside, full moons often drain me. I’ll close my windows and curtains, hang an extra blanket over my bedroom window, use water to paint protective sigils on the window and increase my wards.

To manage symptoms:
Brain fog:

Fatigue:

Headaches (and migraines):

Memory:

For more categories of symptoms please see my posts for symptoms relating to chronic illness and mental illness!
Practicing the craft with energy limitations:
Tips and tricks:
I highly recommend preparing things when your energy allows, so it’s always ready to go when you need it (and isn’t dependent on current energy levels).
Cleansing: Let other things do your work for you. Open your windows/get fresh air, steam or smoke, sound, etc. Bedridden energy cleansing.
Divination: Use apps when physical movement is hard. One card spreads, shorten your pendulum so you don’t need to lift your arm, divine using the elements, etc. Bedridden divination.
Spells: Make your own spell kits. Spell jars and sachets are also an excellent way to already have the spell prepared, set it up so you can simply shake it to re/activate the spell.
Warding: Create physical ties for your wards that aren’t reliant on consistent upkeep (as a failsafe), and reinforce your other ward layers when you have the energy. I create far more layers than I need so when I am unable to reinforce them, they still protect me.
Worship: Compile prayers and devotions somewhere you can easily find and read them, have a wall altar for easy maintenance, keep offerings simple (a glass of water, for example). Bedridden worship.
Many more tips and tricks in these posts:
Bedridden witch series (masterpost of all my current bedridden witch posts, including some that weren’t linked here!)
Limited hand mobility + witchcraft (divination, spells, working with flames, recording information and more)
Nonverbal witchcraft
