I know I’ve been absent, flare after flare have been keeping me away from my laptop. 

Also, I decided to take a break to decide the fate of my blog. I’m keeping it but I’ll have some changes, the most drastic one is that I’ve moved Kurt to a main blog.  You can find him here @bothsidesofaquestion​

If you feel like your muse has been waining recently, it’s probably because of current events. 

This is a stressful period we’re all experiencing. You are not alone right now. Trying to battle the complications of real life takes energy, that energy detracts from the energy you use for roleplay.  

And this can be especially frustrating when RP is something you’re trying to use to escape from reality.

So remember to love yourself, treat yourself nicely, and not blame yourself for feeling under-motivated.   If you need to take a break from everything that’s okay.  Don’t be angry at yourself.  Do what you have to do to help yourself relax.

The world has fallen to a virus unlike anything humanity has seen before. Whole countries have dissolved into chaos as the infected vastly outnumber the healthy, their ravenous hunger for uninfected flesh spurring them forward like monstrous locusts. Asgard was the first border closed, the slightest whiff of a disease that spread so quickly without cure drove Odin immediately to action. The intergalactic allies of Earth soon followed suit, seeking the safety of distance. Soon, forces greater than anyone could fathom sealed the universe, so that no other part of the multiverse could be affected by the contagion.

But all hope is not lost. Superheroes, based safely behind high walls, are gathering survivors into their care. Haven began as a single house, with room to spare and many underground floors, to be sure, but still just a house. Over time, the house became insufficient, and now Haven is a fully-fledged town. Here many people have built a new home, and while there is no hope for a cure, there is a chance for immunisation.

Many superheroes in the past have rejected the idea that they are soldiers. Now, there are few other ways to describe these paragons of Earth. They are prepared to fight and die for the tiny nation they have built, to protect those less able to fight for themselves. This may very well be the highest stakes for any war the Avengers or the X-Men have ever fought; a fight for the survival of mutants, inhumans, and humankind alike.

“Look, Steve, you do it.  You’ve got that rousing ‘I punched Hitler’ attitude people like.”  Tony pushed the paper towards Steve again. It wasn’t that he didn’t love the sound of his own voice, more that he was worried he had a less trustworthy reputation than the Star Spangled Man.  When was the last time Tony had a plan? “Is that really the attitude we’re after?”  The super soldier raised a single querying eyebrow as he looked over the page.  It was actually not a bad speech, Steve just thought it would be better if Tony was the one rolling out the welcome wagon.  He had started this, after all. “Well, no,” Tony conceded, realising that he was going to have to aim for sincerity on this one, “But out of everyone we have here, you’re the one who’s gonna make people feel like they’re heading for safety. Captain America, here to protect the people.” “What does that make you?” “A billionaire who’s been drunk on TV too many times, and who happened to have a very well fortified mansion to share.  Besides, with all the expansion we’re doing, this is way bigger than me now.” Tony leaned back in his seat and pushed the recorder across the table, “I’m really not the guy to be the face of this fortress, buddy.” “You called the place Ironhaven, Tony!”  Steve blurted out, incredulous, “You can’t get all shy on us now.”  Tony just looked pleased with himself, Steve felt like his eye might start twitching.  Decades later he still needed to be the dancing monkey sometimes. “Fine. But I’m not calling it that.“ Tony snickered and hit the start button on the recorder.

"This is Captain Steve Rogers broadcasting on the emergency frequency.  If you’re hearing this message, I hope it finds you safe. I am speaking on behalf of the Avengers and our friends here at Haven to invite all who hear this message to come join us at Haven.  Our walls are tall and thick, and the safezone is expanding every day, all we ask is that newcomers help us to build a community here. Coordinates will follow this message. Until we see you, stay safe out there, and good luck.”

Tony had silently gotten up and moved around the table so that he could be close to the microphone when he read the coordinates out.  He ended the recording, “See? This is why I got you to do it. Rousing.” He clapped Steve on the shoulder, the super soldier rolled his eyes and got up to leave, suppressing a chuckle.

Speaking of time off, I did that. I’ve been going through a difficult period but it’s hopefully ending. 

Besides I had a nasty flare ugh, I think the flare is gone tho. At least I don’t feel as sick as I did a couple of days ago. 

Still no muse, only Kurt remains.. I’m 90% convinced of moving him to a separate blog, it’s a damn shame not having muse but that’s how are things atm.
