one thing i've learned after years of struggling with clinical depression is to train myself to find joy in the little things even when i'm at my darkest. a bird just landed outside my window? adorable. i remembered to pick up more tea at the store last week? wonderful. that toddler at the store smiled at me? ah the sweetness. it doesn't cure the depression but it adds some light to the day.

My ancestors, watching me dump an entire stick of cinnamon, two cloves, an allspice berry, and a generous grating of nutmeg into my tea, sweetened with white sugar and loaded with cream, while I sit in my clean warm house surrounded by books, 25+ outfits for different occasions, and 6 pairs of shoes, in a building heated so well I have the windows open in mid-autumn:

in goblet of fire, why didn't harry (or even hermione) think to use the polyjuice potion for the second tournament?? i mean i doubt it would have worked to try to turn into a fish or something that could breathe underwater since hermione's polyjuice potion in chamber of secrets only partially turned her into a cat... but it never even crossed their mind? you'd think they would have at least considered it... or ron or harry would bring it up and hermione would shoot it down? it just doesn't make sense
