A COUPLE DAYS AGO, a 12 year old girl asked me if I had any siblings, she's an only child and was hanging out at the gas station where her mom works as an attendant. I told her "I have 5 sisters and 2 brothers." Her next question was, did you like it?" My response was, "I love it." She looked at her mom encouragingly, "See?" Of course, I was flooded with so many great memories that couldn't have possibly been the same without the presence of my siblings to share them with- my best and closest friends and kindred spirits. I'm lucky enough to have sisters like @mheitz and @tmpatterson127 who surprised me for my birthday and my inaugural "Voices Aloud 2013" fundraiser in Seattle few years back. It's so easy to take these moments for granted and to overlook the bonds we have with our family members. I just wanted to take a moment to acknowledge these two who live in Portland, OR and let them know how special they are to me and how much I love and miss them! ❤️ #ThankYou #MissYou #LoveYou

BUILDING A MASTERPIECE: Seeing this picture pop up this morning on my FB Memories was a shock 'cause it's hard to believe a year's past since Michael Teehee snapped this photo of our team in Los Angeles, California. This was the first time Shyan Selah @shyanselah Candice Richardson and myself to Alonzo R. Robinson (industry legend) at Jerry's Famous Deli. In the last year, our company has experienced so much growth and been privy to amazing opportunity; fortifying relationships in the community, music, television, film, finance and tech worlds. I've learned so much from Shyan in my six-year tenure with BNW Global, but in the last twelve months, I've seen the greatest lesson pronounce itself; building a great company is like creating a masterpiece puzzle-- it takes time, and the big picture won't make sense unless all the pieces fit just right. Take your time. All corporations are, are large bodies of individuals making collective decisions-- and each individual is paramount in developing the big picture so the right synergy has to be there. In our organization, the integrity of the people involved in the development of our projects is more important than the skills they possess, skills can be taught. Passion for humanity you either got-- or you do not. We build projects/products with "forever shelf-lives" that have the ability to affect a consumer's energy and emotions. Once we release a song or a film, it's for the world forever-- so patience is a virtue when it comes to building a team. I signed my first industry deal over a decade ago at 18 years old and have since been a part of many deals, teams, and companies. I have never been a part of another organization that was a better fit for me than Brave New World Global, this time; these people. Thus, I've never been more excited to create and disseminate entertainment products. I say all this to say, I hope all of you find a company that's more like a home, a team that's more like family, and work that's more like play. If the fit isn't right- don't force it. MAGNIFICENT MAN MONDAY: Bernie Sanders in Santa Monica, California today! Come out and support him! "Even Santa Monica local Arnold Schwarzenegger, the former governor who lives north of the city and owns property just south of it, is the most liberal Republican ever. Sanders, with his tirades against big-money political action committees, the college-loan debacle and the plight of wealth inequality, will fit right in. In fact, the Vermont senator's Southern California rallies have turned into rock shows without the music. There's mad adoration for him here in Los Angeles. We predict much of the same today. SALSA DANCING LAST NIGHT: Was an exceptional evening at Granada in Pasadena, CA. It's been a few years since I've been salsa dancing (last time was at Century Ballroom in Seattle). If you've ever gone you know how awkward it can be at times to show up to a new place and look for a suitable partner who'll not only help you step your game up but also-- not step on your feet or run you into other paired dancers in all the commotion. I had such an amazing time as I had the opportunity to practice not only my salsa skills but my merengue and cha-cha techniques as well-- best part was, the person who was just standing there that I chose, also just so happened to be a professional instructor who gave me lessons the entire evening! I think I got 100% better last night! Can't wait to go back. 💃💃💃💃💃💃💃💃💃💃💃💃💃💃💃💃💃

A BEAUTIFUL DAY ON THE GREEN FOR AN AMAZING CAUSE: It's been some weeks since I had the opportunity to attend the Silverman Memorial Foundation's annual Golf Classic in Tarzana, California to raise funds for beneficiaries who provide counseling services and other support for suicidal youth and young adults. It was wonderful to see such committed people come together to support this mission and to meet @robbykrieger, @davidarquette, and @breckinmeyer who were all so down to earth and present in the purpose of this event. We, at The Gifted Stars of Venus Fund extend a special thanks to @damalife for the invite. Depression and suicidal thoughts and behaviors are unfortunately a common topic when working with foster/former foster children. With the aid of organizations like the MSMF we can begin to decrease the 1 Million+ attempts that happen each year among young men and women ages 15-24.
