Okay but imagine Sokka does pick up painting and sketching, really having a good time just having fun and being creative. But after a few comments from others and friends, his love for it just becomes… less.

After another snide comment, Sokka ends up just crumbling up the paper and throwing it away, wanting to get rid of all of it’s existence. He was SO proud of his work and all he did was show a friend who just promptly laughed at him. Sokka vowed to never pick up the hobby again.

But Zuko found that art in the trash, just ended up passing by and stumbling across it. He instantly recognized it was Sokka’s. He’s clearly blown away, because Sokka’s art has been improving! But why would Sokka throw it away… maybe he accidentally tossed it? So he keeps it and goes home, where he hangs it up on his bedroom’s wall.

And one day Sokka goes over and sees all the art and doddles Zuko’s kept from him all over his walls. All this stuff that he created was being loved for once.

So he picks up art again, with every intention to dedicate each work towards Zuko. And he becomes really damn good.

what I like most about this is that it could go either way and still work perfectly. I like to think Zuko owned the pink one and Katara made the blue one for Sokka forever ago, and then when Sokka got too tall and Zuko peaked height-wise at thirteen, Sokka just gave him the blue nightgown as a gift

And then Zuko thought he needed to give Sokka a gift back and so he gave him the pink robe and Sokka never takes it off.

I like to think Haru noticed Zukos crush on Sokka, noticed he wasn’t doing anything about it, and so he started to flirt with Sokka infront of Zuko to make Zuko jealous. It worked.
