Things that have actually happened in band

A drummer climbed into the ceiling in the band hall and then fell through it

A flute player left their flute at home when we were at a FAR away game, so they had to march and pretend to play a ‘flute’ that was actually a drumstick

We played Seven Nation Army as a warm up before a concert contest and then got three points added for creative warm up

Our band director duct taped our drumline captain’s legs together for yelling cuss words

A saxophone player slept in the storage area inside the bus on the way to a football game

Our entire drumline fell in a domino-like way due to a passing cat at the front of the line

When the band came to attention at a marching competition, a slide from a trombone went flying across the field because it wasn’t locked

Recent Doctor Who Fandom

Fandom: Ugh Moffat makes the Doctor out to be some godlike figure because he’s a male lead. Moffat: *massively expands Clara’s role, makes her the Doctor figure in multiple episodes, gives her her own TARDIS and companion* Fandom: Ugh Moffat it’s not ‘Clara Who’

Fandom: Ugh why are all the important Time Lords always male, this is totally Moffat’s fault Moffat: *has the Master regenerate into a female incarnation* Fandom: Ugh Moffat stop trying so hard, you’ve ruined the Master now, bring back John Simm!

Fandom: When are we going to get a female Doctor? Moffat is so sexist for not making Twelve female Moffat: *writes the first ever episode confirming Time Lords can change gender, continues adding references to said information, makes Master female, writes first ever on-screen gender change regeneration, writes the Doctor acknowledging he could be female one day, writes Clara taking the Doctor’s role multiple times to prove it works* Fandom: *overwhelmingly votes against the idea of a female Doctor in multiple online polls*

RTD: *writes Donna’s exit where she begs the Doctor to stop what he’s doing and he still does it anyway, erasing every adventure from her memory, followed by much manpain from him over what he ‘had’ to do* Fandom: Such writing! Such good female characterisation! So positive! Moffat: *writes Clara taking a stand against being made to lose her memories, the Doctor agreeing that such action is better when they are on an equal footing, resulting in the Doctor losing his memories of Clara while she retains hers, continuing to adventure and live and own her life* Fandom: Oh my god just let Clara die! This is so stupid!

Doctor Who Season 9: *has almost every guest female character in a position of authority, has people of colour in every single episode, has DW’s first transgender actress, has DW’s first deaf actress - playing a character who is also deaf and not defined by her disability, passes the bechdel test almost every episode, has more female writers than any prior season, has more female directors than any prior season, has the first on-screen gender change regeneration, has the most positive exit for a companion ever* Fandom: Bring back RTD! Moffat has ruined the show! This season has been the worst!
