Superhero Film - Kunlun Hero
Character Introduction
Moonen Zhang, also known as Dr. Moon. Female, born in July 1968, in Xinhai County, China. Moonen 's mother, Wensen Moon, left her and her father at birth, taking her brother with her. Moonen was raised by his father Xushan Zhang, who took care of Moonen  but never told her of his brother's existence. Since Moonen  was a child, she has been gifted with medical science and has read medical books extensively. Moonen also studied Musical Instruments, dance, and painting and won a scholarship to the school. She later enrolled in medical school and became a psychologist at 28, working in Xinhai County hospital for three years.
Moonen is calm in appearance; she is particularly outstanding in professional knowledge and psychological quality but also mysterious in lifestyle. She appears indestructible, reluctant to trust others easily, and enjoys solitude. She was afraid of being alone and missed her father. Early times, her father was her biggest weakness; later, her brother was her biggest power. The W family are Moonen 's enemies; the Moon ethnic, the zhang family, and Middle Earth make her guardian of the mission.
Moonen is a good and evil character, an antihero in the early stage and a hero in the late stage. She owns half dragon's blood (also called Calamus Draco) and half Moon ethnic and has a birthmark of Chinese Phoenix. The dragon's blood of Zhang's family seals the power in her body but also allows her to enhance the superpower of the Moon tribe in an evil  environment(psychological distortion). Moonen grew up without his mother and was emotionally unloved. Later, her father's disappearance and the torture of the W family caused her psychological distortion.
After Moonen  and his brother met, he was affected by family affection, and the super-power in his body due to evil thoughts gradually weakened. After the W family controlled his brother, Moonen, who had lost his family again, released the sealed superpower in desperation. In the end, she died fighting against the W family to save the Middle-Earth people.
Moonen Zhang did not visit her brother's Tibet house. She has less affection for her mother than her father and brother. However, some descendants have built sculptures of the brother and sister in Tibet to commemorate the history. Her sculpture also bears the imprint of a Chinese Phoenix.
Story
Anterior plot
The Schrodinger's Cat's childhood
Moonen grew up without his mother and suffered from psychological defects. In March 1984, her father suddenly disappeared, so she had serious psychological problems.
Moonen reports a missing person to the police, but at the same time, the department is investigating a serial homicide. The police found special blood at the crime scene and confirmed that it was not the victim, so they began to investigate the suspect who had the special blood. After learning this news, Moonren worries that the pointer is her father (Xushan Zhang has special blood). Moonen suspected her father had even thought about reporting it, but she hesitated.
After returning home, Moonen received an unaddressed letter with Xushan Zhang's name. In the letter, Xushan Zhang explained why he left Moonren and eloped, but Moonen did not believe her father would elope. After confirming the identity of the handwriting and the "father" notes, Moonren's imagination beside her father had been a secret life, and that is her father killed people run, let her stay up.
To cover up for her father, Moonren cleaned out all of his belongings (she hid the most important information). She also secretly embedded herself in the archives, destroying all records about her father.
When police investigated Moonen's home, they raised the suspicion that she had deliberately destroyed evidence. Moonen uses her super-power and psychological tactics to convince the police that her father is missing. This is the first time she has used super-power, but Moonen does not discover her unique ability and thinks her psychological tactics cause it.
Since her father's disappearance, Moonen has received occasional packages of unaddressed childhood toys, letters with Xushan Zhang's nickname, and anonymous text messages. Moonen increasingly believes that this is her father who gave her remaining in the signal, but the content of the letters always reminds her: "your father is a murderer", this psychologically hint lets Moonen can't to live like an average person.
Moonen lived on his father's leftover money and scholarship for two years. Moonen was accepted into Xinhai Medical University in 1986 at 18. She initially chose to major in forensic science and wanted to investigate the murderer in exchange for the truth about her father. However, fearing that her father was the killer, she changed her studies to psychology. This behavior strengthened her superpower and also bought the seeds of evil.
Suffering from the lack of information on Xushan Zhang, the police have not found him in 15 years of investigation. Combined with Moonen's cover-up and superpower, the police have been unable to find the killer.
The past of a psychiatrist
During his graduate and doctoral studies from 1990 to 1996, Moonen personally tested many animals and successfully made them commit suicide while under Psychokinesis. At that time, she found her superpower and the waist birthmark. Moonen believes that the birthmark has some relationship with the superpower because the Chinese Phoenix pattern will gradually appear on the body during superpower use and slowly disappear when not used. To avoid suspicion, Moonen has long worn baggy clothes.
In 1999, at 31, Moonen had been working at Xinhai Hospital for three years. By this time, she was able to successfully use her superpower- “Psychokinesis” to control the patient's mind and make her fully believe in her guidance.
As a psychology teacher, she is to pass the business level, has an extremely high IQ, and has a unique superpower. But Moonen's motivation is different from that of ordinary doctors. She can cure patients, but sometimes she doesn't do it.
She often uses superpower Psychokinesis over her patients and advocates stimulating therapy. Moonen is willing to use this kind of superpower, let the patient in the trap of their design can't distinguish reality and dream, and finally get crazy and suicide.
Moonen is both a victim and a perpetrator of Psychokinesis. Moonen's behavior stems from mental illness. When she looks at patients in a state of self-fear and refuses to release themselves, she also sees people like herself. But Moonen thinks some people got what they deserved.

Story Plot
First Part
In 2000, Xinhai county environment development construction crews cleaned Xinhai Lake to retrieve a 15-year-old sunken body. Police questioned the body and suspected it might be that of missing Xushan Zhang. They found Moonen because they had no information to identify him. After a DNA match, police identified the body as Xushan Zhang.
After learning her truth, Moonen broke down and said she would work with the police to investigate the murderer, who she believed was also a serial killer. They set up a trap for three months and caught the killer Ren Chen near Moonen's house, finally breaking the 15-year serial murder case.
Ren Chen pleaded guilty to the behavior of the crime. He told the reason for killing Moonen's father because he wanted to gain custody of Moonen.
Moonen does not believe Ren Chen's reasons for killing her father, and she uses superpower to control the prison guards to see Ren Chen. Ren Chen said that he killed Xushan Zhang because he was a member of Zhang's family. Moonen was dissatisfied with his answer and mentally tortured Ren Chen. During the fight, Ren Chen sees her Chinese Phoenix birthmark and asks Moonen if she is a W family too. Ren Chen showed his Chinese Phoenix mark to Moonen and mocked her and her mother as traitors.
Moonen didn't believe Ren Chen's words and continued to torture him mentally. Finally, Ren Chen's spirit broke down and suicided by hitting the wall.
When Moonen leaves prison, he modifies the guards' memories. Police later became suspicious when they disposed of Ren Chen's body, which they suspected resembled the characteristics of premature deaths of mentally disturbed people. Police investigate Moonen, who they have been in contact with, and find clues from medical records and letters in her room. Police convicted Moonen of passive shielding, passive homicide, and misdemeanor medical practice and suspended her medical license.
Moonen was sentenced to 10 years in prison in 2001, and she never used super-power to get out of prison.
Second Part
In 2009, brother Moonrain Zhang came to Xinhai county and met Moonen. Moonen is hopeful about life after learning that his family is still alive. She chose to use superpowers to get herself out of prison early. After that, they both bought the cenotaph for their parents.
When they lived in Xinhai county from 2009 to 2010, Moonrain told his sister about Moon's ethnicity and shared the historical dispute between the W family and the zhang family he had researched over the years. Moonen remembered Ren Chen's words from eight years ago and the information about his father that he had hidden. Moonen told his brother about his superpower and the Chinese Phoenix birthmark. Moonen also found that his superpower gradually diminished after meeting his brother.
In July 2010, the siblings decided to go to the birthplace of the W family to investigate. When they left Xinhai county, they took away these documents about their father.
In August 2010, they entered the mountains with a tour group. Later, they found anti-W family members in the tour group, including ultra-capable, zhang's family, grave robbers, Tibetans, and former W family members.
In September 2010, they fell into the W family's trap, and during the game, Moonen found herself unable to make superpower. Moonrain Zhang used his superpower to help everyone escape from the whole set, but the evil spirit of the organizers and the W family controlled him. Eventually, everyone escaped the mountains, but several were killed in battle.
In October 2010, heavy snow fell in the Himalayas, and they had to decide to re-enter the following year.Moonen has been in a bad state after losing her brother, which has caused her superpower to recover rapidly.
In December 2010, they were attacked and disturbed by W's family. That same year, they were rescued by another ultra-capable group and worked together. They retreated to the valley extension and set up power protection measures. During this period, they put together their goals and views.
In April 2011, they packed up and took a different route into the mountains.Under the protection of their superpowers and Moonen's Psychokinesis, they finally entered W's territory. They had obtained historical materials, documents, and an event list of the W family. They also saw the control chain of the new power grid, the drug development room, and rooms with strange creatures.
They had installed bombs in each room they crossed. At the time everyone evacuated the valley, Moonen met my brother. But Moonrain Zhang has now entered the evil spirit, and he confronts everyone. During the battle, Moonen discovers her gradually stronger superpower, and her Psychokinesis power is released out of control, finally destroying her brother's superpower and making the boobs explode.
Moonrain recovered his original will, but they found that the explosion had alarmed the W family, so everyone fled out of the valley.Moonen was at the back of the line. At this point, she found that W's people were coming out of the mountain pass and trying to surround their team.
Moonen looked up at the mountain and controlled the W family with her Psychokinesis power again; She tried not to let the W family run out. When all people are away from the dangerous area,  she finally releases her powers and causes the Moonrain to explode.
As the mountain exploded, the W family and all their dangerous things were buried forever. The explosion triggered an avalanche, and Moonen fell into the snow. Moonrain picked her up, and the following other people ran down the hill.
Posterior Plot
2010-2015 A group of tourists entered the Himalayas and destroyed the W Family hidden in the mountains. Meanwhile, a mountain explosion in the Himalayas also caught the world's attention.
From 2015 to 2020, the inside story of the W family was constantly revealed. Many ugly behaviors, capital chain, with the international government's underground trade content, drew public anger.
Many of the officials involved have been ousted, but a few sporadic W family members seem to be holding on to their last tense ties to the government.
At the end of 2022, the last W family organizer died, and the W family completely collapsed. When people say there will be meteor showers in 2023, they mean it's the beginning of a new era.
Extra Plot
The last chance
Moonen slowly closed her eyes. She felt that her strength could not support her.  At this time, she saw her parents and their ancestors behind them. Moonen asks for their help, but her mother tells Moonen that she should not use powers for evil.Moonen states that this is the last use of the superpower, and it is to protect Middle Earth. Her father smiled and beckoned her to follow him.
After they disappear, Phoenix and Qilin power combine, and Moonen's power is ultimately released, which destroys all the W family powers and all superpowers in the mountain. Moonen's body fell with a smiling face and said she was coming.

End words
Moonen hasn't been tamed into a positive superhero, but she is not an evil person. Her evil thoughts came from the shadow of childhood, and her superpower rescued her and destroyed her life. Moonen does not want this superpower to bring disaster to the world. Her death was a fulfillment, an atonement. She died at the most memorable time, so her story is a heroic tale.
Historical Background
The origin of Kunlun Mountains' ethnics
In the Western Kunlun Mountains, there are a group of ancient peoples, one of which is called the Moon ethnic. Like many other ethnic groups, the Moon Ethnic lived in the Kunlun Mountains for many generations without contacting the outside world. They believed in God and were wise and kind. They not only can have immortality but also their own superpowers, including flight, enhanced strength, invulnerability, enhanced speed, and so on.
Various forms of spirit animals have been living in the Kunlun Mountains, which are all recorded in the Classic of Mountains and Seas, Book of Gods and Strange Things, totems, murals, etc.
Moon ethnic people have a strong perceptual ability, Psychokinesis power. At the same time, they love the spirit of the Chinese Phoenix and will tattoo the Chinese Phoenix pattern on their bodies.
Later generations of Moon ethnic people gradually acquired the Chinese Phoenix birthmark, which they believed was a gift from God, so they named the Chinese Phoenix the Moon ethnic sacred bird.
After the last civilization disappeared by flood, most of the Kunlun Mountains' ethnics evacuated Middle-Earth. No one knows where they went.
2500 AD later, some non left Kunlun Mountains' ethnics went into the deep mountain of Kunlun and disappeared.
The few Kunlun Mountains' ethnics chose to move to the central mainland, and their descendants gradually lost superpowers.
A few new Kunlun Mountains' ethnics families have integrated into Tibetan areas (such as Moonen's mother's family). Although they still retain some superpowers, they are almost no longer used and can only live around 200 years old.
After the third revolution in the 20th century, the development of the tourism economy in the Tibetan area led to intermarriage between the local and central plains people, and the ancient ethnic group's people all disappeared.
The origin of Zhang family ethnic
There is a Qilin family named Zhang in the northeast Changbai Mountains, which is a descendant of Southern Tujia. Tujia nationality in the century A.D. 2500 years ago in the central plains, the Tujia may trace their history back over twelve centuries and possibly beyond.
The origin of Tujia may come from the ancient Kunlun Mountains ethnics. The reason is that Tujia myths explain the origin of heaven, earth, and human, they also conclude flood, ethnic, totem myth, etc.
“The Tujia people have also been strongly influenced, both culturally and economically, by the Han Chinese people. As early as the early 1700s, there were influxes of Han Chinese into the region. These were mainly due to what were known as the gaituguiliu reforms, when the Qing imperial court deposed local minority chieftains and replaced them with government officials.”
       — Documentation of the Southern Tujia Language of China
The zhang family originally consisted of artisans and soldiers who have existed for thousands of years. Many outstanding figures came from their family, and they even influenced the succession of dynasties. Zhang's family members are characterized by longevity. They can live to about 200 years old and maintain their 20 years old youthful appearance.
The Zhang family believes in nature, and they have dragon blood but no superpower. Dragon's blood can heal wounds, ward off evil spirits, repel insects, and enhance their physical strength.
The zhang family has existed for a long time, so it has a large population base and many elites. However, due to the intervention of a specific force, the Zhang family collapsed overnight. It directly led to the collapse was the internal fighting in the zhang family and the death of the zhang family leader.
The Zhang family's decline is related to the collapse of the belief in immortality. Part of the Zhang family is unwilling to guard the immortality secret with the whole family. Eventually, there was suspicion and strife.
In modern times, the zhang family has intermarried with other ethnic groups, and the dragon's blood series of their descendants has gradually disappeared.
The origin of W family
The W family originated in the Himalayas and has a long history. In the early days, most of the W family were tomb raiders. W family's pursuit of immortality, witchcraft faith, will take the living, animal sacrifice.
The W family does not have the concept of an ethnic group. Most orphans are caught in this group, and some voluntarily join in search of immortality. The W family emphasizes fundamental mechanisms for selecting the superior and eliminating. They choose the best ones through surviving and battling each other. The W family organization spies on the people, the government, and their people.
The Family W organization would stab each orphan with a Chinese Phoenix mark and inject a special fluid into their blood. The entry of fluid into the body changes the blood, and the fusion of a dragon's blood with this fluid is highly toxic.
The W family organization has powerful resources and an economy. They scour the world for ultra-capable children, control their lives and emotions, and mind-control them to work for the W family.
In the 21st century, there was also infighting within the W family. Finally, the organization gets destroyed by the descendants of the zhang family, the Hero organization, and their rebellious prior W-family people. But there seem to be pockets of strength left in the W family, who still pursue their original ideas independently.
At the end of 2022, the W family completely disintegrated with the death of the last W Family organizer.
Family Characters Introduction
Xushan Zhang: born in Changbai Mountain, zhang family Qilin pure blood descendant, auction cultural relics work.
In 1976, he went to Xizang to deliver goods, fainting due to altitude sickness and met Wensen Moon during treatment. Due to the identity of the zhang family, the moon family opposed their marriage. In 1977, Xushan Zhang, with Wensen Moon and his savings, settled in Xinhai county and worked with a historical materials organization.
In 1978, Wensen Moon left Xinhai county with Moonrain Zhang, whom he raised Moonen alone. Xushan Zhang is ready to tell Moonen the truth as an adult and take her to meet her mother. But the accident stopped him; Xushan Zhang ran into the "W family" and knows their secrets of serial killings. The "W family" killed him and discovered the identity of his zhang family member, which caused the murderer to track and control his daughter for over 15 years. The "W family" hid Xushan Zhang at the bottom of Xinhai lake and was fished out for burial by their children after solving the case.
Wensen Moon: Born in Tibet, the descendant of Moon ethnic, is a Tibetan doctor.
Wensen Moon fell in love with Xushan Zhang in 1976, but the family opposed their relationship. The couple left Tibet in 1977 and moved to Xinhai county, where they married secretly. In July 1978, Wensen Moon gave birth to Moonen Zhang and Moonrain Zhang in Xinhai county.
After giving birth to two children, Wensen Moon found that the boys with the hybrid genes had very strong proactive super-power. She worries that such uncontrollable factors will affect the Zhang family, the Moon family, and the whole society. Then, Wensen eventually returned to Tibet alone with Moonrain Zhang and agreed to meet the two children when they grew up. Wensen Moon returned to Tibet and gave Moonrain Zhang to her family, but she soon died of postpartum weakness.
Moonrain Zhang:Born in Xinhai county, Moonen's older brother,  a descendant of Moon ethnic,  a Tibetan painter. He has a Qilin tattoo but no Chinese Phoenix birthmark.
After birth, he was sent to Tibet by her mother and raised by his mother's family. When he first learned to paint, his style was very dark, but he was gifted and could paint at three. He has superpowers like perspective, precognition, and Psychokinesis power as his sister (not stronger than her sister). He has been described as a cat, warm outside but dark inside when he uses his superpowers. Under the purification of Tibet, it temporarily restrained its unreliable superpower. When the last pure-blood elder of Moon ethnic gets dies, he tells Moonrain's father's story.
To find his father, he spent ten years in northeast China and finally came to Xinhai county to meet Moonen zhang. He bought his parents' cenotaph with his sister in Xinhai county. Later, he joined hands with his sister to investigate the secret of the W family and went to the Himalayas with other people to eradicate the W family. Later, he and his sister go to the Himalayas to investigate the W family's secrets and eventually eradicate the W family with a group of other people; but her sister also sacrificed. During this period, the superpower inside his body was eroded by evil and used by the W family.
Finally, the superpower was controlled and destroyed by Moonen zhang. Moonrain Zhang returned to Xinhai county to bury Moonen zhang, then went to Tibet and disappeared there. Some say that Moonrain found the Moon's ethnic immortality and a permanently need-guarded secret. Others say he is cultivating in Tibet and eventually left Middle Earth like the ancestors of the ancient Kunlun Mountains.
The origin of superpower and development
Moonen's superpower is a form of mind control. It can control the minds of others and multiple people, manipulate consciousness, and acquire and change ideas. Moonen's superpower can influence people's actions and destroy managed objects.
Moonen was presumably born with this ability, which she believes may have been inherited from her mother. The origin of the superpower is Moon ethnic, but Moonen has the weakest superpower.
Moonen inherited psychokinesis and mixed it with his father's pure dragon blood. This caused Moonen's superpower to not disappear after Middle-earth but became more robust due to his twisted psychology and "evil thoughts."
At first, Moonen can't use his superpower correctly and doesn't understand its usefulness. After studying psychology, she found that she could take the initiative to use her superpower, gradually strengthening and mastering it many times.
In the early stage, Moonen's psychokinesis was spread, and she couldn't directly control the consciousness, thoughts, and behaviors of skeptics, rebels, and other people. She can only lead them to trust and rely on her, change their thinking, and finally make them completely lose their original mind.
Mid-term Moonen's psychokinesis is enhanced and improved, giving them direct control over all minds (except those with superpowers). It can simultaneously control the thoughts and behaviors of many people (but cannot change the consciousness). The shorter the time, the stronger the ability.
Late Moonen psychokinesis can be wholly controlled and penetrate the minds of ordinary people. She can transform, alter, and destroy the consciousness of ordinary people, but occasionally this ability gets out of hand.  (Moonen has only used this superpower extensively twice.) Her powers can only constitute destruction for those with the superpower but cannot change their minds.
After Moonen meets his brother, psychokinesis weakens. The reason is the family love slowed down the Moonen inner suspicion and evil thoughts and gradually pacified the childhood psychological problems. After the W family controlled and exploited the elder brother, Moonen's superpower quickly returned, with an even more significant effect.
Moonen ended up destroying his brother's superpower. While they escape from W family, Moonen's parents give her the power to destroy all the superpowers, but her own energy also offsets after release.
Characters and worlds comparison
Marvel VS Kunlun
Moonen is a character created in the world of Kunlun mythology, which is to show a spirit of life and story.
-Moonen is similar to the Phoenix woman in Marvel, who can manipulate the human mind. Moonen has nothing to do with the Marvel hero Phoenix itself, and Moonen cannot use Phoenix Force to fly out of thin air like Phoenix does, Releasing a phoenix-shaped shock wave; Make the dead resurrected. Nor is it possible to control the timeline and freely travel back and forth in any time, space, dimension, and the universe. At the same time, the Chinese Phoenix in the Kunlun myth is not the immortal bird in the Marvel world, nor does it have the ability to rise from the ashes. Its prototype comes from the classic of Mountains and seas.
- The other Marvel character most comparable to Moonen is Scarlet Witch, while Scarlet Witch's younger brother Quicksilver has a similar experience with Moonrain. When Moonen controlled the W family organization with her Psychokinesis power, she could be compared to the state when Scarlet Witch used her superpower.
Greek mythology VS Kunlun mythology
The heroes of the original Greek and Kunlun mythological worlds were equally influential. The Marvel movies and DC universe are rooted in Greek mythology. The heroes of contemporary Marvel and the DC universe are electromagnetic energy from nature universally shaped by the age of science and technology. In contrast, the superpower of national heroes in Kunlun mythology is power from god. The heroes of contemporary Kunlun mythology generally do not show unique superpowers, but their strength is a kind of inside power, upper space spirit, and energy.

Parasite -Decoding & Deconstructing
Tumblr media
Released in 2019, Parasite is a film by director Bong Joon-ho that deals with the issues between the poor and the rich people in society. It is more like a smaller version of South Korea, conveying the stereotype that the rich are happy and the poor are always unhappy. The actors in the film are perfect, but the director put the plot into a movie full of holes. To express and show the problem, it is an ideal commercial film, but it does not reflect the real social issues and is not worth more analysis and reflection. Generally speaking, for a movie with a strong story, there is a minimum requirement for the plot development to conform to the basic logic. Of course, some degree of factual and logical sacrifice is necessary for theme expression and dramatic effect. But this sacrifice of the actual parasite plot does not achieve the same thematic expression effect, which is empty.
First, arranging four family members into the wealthy family, which takes up the first 1/3 of the film, is very dramatic and does not go smoothly with common sense. Suppose the director asked Choi Woo-Sik for a job interview on the first day and suggested that a clip of his sister Kim Ki-Jung would show the character's ingenuity. (19:45 -- 20:37) In the latter part, the director arranged all the members of the Kim family into the Park family was too deliberate. Although the director uses this plot to express the unfairness of wealth and status in the character of the rich who are "naive" and "easy to fool," Bong Joon-ho forgot that the art of cinema comes from the reality of life, above life. This has wholly ignored the plot elements that can foreshadow a character.
If the Kim family moving smoothly into the mansion is necessary for the development of the plot, then they can also be unobtrusively qualified for the work of the mansion; it seems too false and strange. First, being a nanny and a driver for a wealthy family is not a simple job, especially for Gook Moon-gwang nanny, who had worked for years under a former builder before getting used to it. Apart from the work content, the nanny's mannerisms and appearance are entirely different from those of the old couple living in the slum environment. From 50:30-52:00, the director asked Jang Hye-jin to play the role of the nanny, and it can be seen that she was able to do the job very quickly. Then, of course, to convince the audience of the Kim family s deceitful tactics and loopholes, the director features Choi Woo-Sik rehearsing at home (42:00-43:01) and questioning the taste of Jang Hye-jin and Kim Ki-taek with the Park family s son. However, these passages are illogical and undermine the legitimacy of the characters. Let the wealthy family's "easy to fool" side becomes "stupid"; the poor become "Superman."
The screenwriter and director do not understand the appearance of the actual poor and the real rich, divorced from the background of the time to show the characters, will become an artistic puppet that overhead reality. The rich man in the film does not look like the rich man, although the director does not set the image of the successor of the chaebol status or a man born with a silver spoon but is a company boss. Because , the director sets the level of a successful person to be inferior to that of a chauffeur, making people think Park's family got rich by lottery. For example, in the clip (48:00-50:30), Kim Ki-taek made Park Dong-ik and Choi Yeon-gyo believe their fake company, The Care, by using fake business cards to make his wife become the nanny of the Park family. The Park family quickly believed them and did not investigate the company. The rich image played by Lee Sun-kyun is untenable after such content development. Just imagine which wealthy company boss can easily trust others to recommend the company; capitalists rely on exploitation that also has to be social elite. The director does not pave the way for this unexplained plot, nor does he explain the follow-up. Although Bong wanted to use such stories to construct the differences and a follow-up story about the development of parasitic behaviors between the rich and the poor, his characterization was always on the surface. It cannot convince the audience that this is real life. In the movie, the director made Choi Woo-sik and Park So-dam's poor family characters not look even poor. Society has different kinds of poor families because they may have no ability and no chance to get work, but the director only created the poor family with a thoughtful mind, quick-witted, capable of faking and deceiving and planning out the proper lines in advance. For such a family, it would be completely impractical for the director to let them live in a semi-basement setting. If the family's personality is based on reality, it's more likely that viewers will believe that they've already cheated their way to little success.
In addition, on a rainy night of camping, the Kim family occupied the host's house but suddenly encountered a visit from Gook Moon-gwang. Gook Moon-gwang's husband had been hiding in the basement of the house. Both families lived tough, and both think each other is a good person just because of poverty, so there is no surplus sympathy to share with others. They also believe that if they are rich like the Park family, they will naturally live sincerely and kindly. (1:02:55 -- 1:09:17) The director is trying to say that poverty is the reason for them or that poverty is the reason for the original sin. To maintain the most basic survival needs, people can break all moral bottom lines and harm others. But why poor? The director didn't expand the content and touch on fundamental reasons. Gook Moon-gwang's family owes money to loan sharks because her husband failed in business. The Kim family doesn't take things seriously on the job. Here, the director's explanation of the social government is absent. The Park family's rich and the Kim family's poor have also become synonymous with good and evil. The conclusion that rich people tend to be good should be based on the premise that everyone has the same moral height, regardless of the rich and poor. However, the movie does not describe the story of the characters played by Lee Sun-Kyun and Cho Yeo-Jeong, but highlights the characteristics of being easy to deceive. The Kim family always wants more after work by cheating. Gook Moon-gwang's husband even thinks life in the villa's basement is so good that he can always live there. Compared with the generosity of the Park family, the director's plot expression made the poor people deprived of even the people's eyes of sympathy.
Tumblr media
It would be impossible if the director did not think to express the difference between the poor and the rich, the rich despise the poor. On the contrary, the director is very self-centered in his expression. For example, "smell" is his focus in this film. In the story, the Kim family has many poor appearance plots and loopholes as they become fake rich workers, but the director would not make the Park family notice. Instead, he uses "smell" as a metaphor to make Park feel the taste of the poor. Of course, there's no problem with "smell" as a cinematic metaphor,  but he mistakenly deliberately highlights it so that this element is overused and boring. The director was afraid that the audience could not see what he wanted to express, and he let Lee Sun-Kyun repeatedly say it from beginning to end, regardless of whether it was reasonable. It seems that whenever the director thinks it's time for a "smell" to appear, it should. As for what reason it occurs, no one knows. For example, it's understandable that the killer escapes from the basement and is filled with hatred to seek revenge on the main character's family. The killer stabbed So-dam Park's Kim Ki-Jung because he saw her in the first spot, which is also understandable. However, the problem came when Park Dong-ik picked up the car keys from underneath the killer after he got killed in reverse. (1:52:50-1:55:50) This time, the appearance of the smell is straightforward, as if all the previous preparation is for this moment; all smells created are meant to rationalize Park Dong-ik's killing. The director thoughtfully clarifies Kim's father's "bad" charges, even not evil people into bad ones.
The climax of the conflict that the director has to create when he starts the story but cannot solve the ending. The same goes for the movie ending (1:55:56-1:58:47), where the director keeps the people he needs and cuts out the characters he feels he can't reasonably explain. An inexplicable appearance at the scene of the criminal, the reporter only said "a homeless death" as the result of the investigation; After Kim killed Park and disappeared from the house, the police did not investigate the house and concluded the investigation with the verdict of "Kim Ki-taek is missing." These are places where the ending of the movie doesn't make sense. But the director doesn't seem to care because he only wants to express this parasitic problem of poverty and wealth that can never break through through Kim, who stays in the basement and writes letters, and Kim's son, who gets letters outside. Kim Ki-taek does not know when her son will see the signal but types Morse code once a day (1:59:20 -- 2:04:06). As you can see, the light flash is visible outside but also inside the house. The director doesn't explain whether the Germans will find out about the ending.
As a drama with the gap between the rich and the poor as the main contradiction, it leads to the intensification of the contradiction in reality, and brings a kind of impersonal negative feeling of "yes, life is like this". As a purely entertaining commercial film, it kind of passes, but as a film that provokes human reflection, it does not make any sense, and even has the opposite effect.

Deconstructing Characters Of The Horror Genre - Nina Sayers Interview
Tumblr media
She sat in our interview chair, dressed all in gray. Even at the age of 68, she still looks like a dancer. Her face showed stacks of wrinkles, and she seemed to be just like her mother. However, her face did not have a grievance or melancholy but looked more calming.
Me: "You still look beautiful and much like your mother before."
Nina: "Thank you. I know I am aged, both inside and outside. But I am comfortable with my state."
Me: "Thanks for talking with you at this meeting. Can you talk about what you've been doing in the present?"
Nina:"As you can see, I am almost retired. Of course, I am still in the business with my dance classes. I have a lot of students, and many of them were successful, so I am no longer so busy. Many people want to see me, not just for the dance hobby or profession. I know that some of them want to meet me, check my present state, hear my past story, or like to get some inspiration from me."
Me: "That's interesting. What kind of story? And can you share it with me? Did you kill the white swan or the black swan? How did you survive after that?"
Nina: "I did not kill any of them, because later I realized that both the black swan and the white swan are me, and neither can live without the other. When I woke up in the hospital, I first saw my mother. The doctor told her that I would risk death if my wound went any deeper. Later, the doctor gave me a psychological investigation, and I found that my self-harm behavior was due to schizophrenia. I know I was under pressure all the time, and I couldn't do it perfectly, and it made me miserable, so I had a mental problem. But after that show, I seem to have opened up and grown up a lot because I want to live. At least I am willing to accept myself as I am now. So I went into conservative treatment because I didn't want to go to a mental hospital and be like Bailey.
Me: "Did your mother's attitude change after the experience?" I asked
Nina: "Yes, but not much. When I saw her on the stage (1:41:37-1:41:50), she cried, and I cried too. I know she did not want me to succeed, But I did. She loves me very much, but I know that kind of love I can't afford. After I left the hospital, she didn't want me to go back to dancing. The people in the dance theater said my mother was trying to help me with my mental illness, but only I knew she wanted to keep me under control. I went back to dancing anyway because many people saw my potential in that show, and some of the better company owners wanted me to be transferred to their place. I granted their request, but you know my mother disagrees with me, or she wants to have been with me, so I ran away."
Me: "What about after that? Are you feeling better mentally? Did you see another self in the mirror later, or did something grow behind you (1:24:30-1:25:20)?
Nina: "it's a different state, but you can't say it's better. It was Lily's suggestion, so I went to a ballet theater in San Francisco, away from my mother and my oppressive environment. My new life had less focus on myself and around people because I had more things needed to take care of, and those illusions began to fade. It was a tough time to start my life over. There were a lot of things that I felt were out of reach and incredible, and many of those were not perfect. So from that moment on, I had to find a balance for myself, or I might not be able to sustain myself.
Tumblr media
Me: "What decisions have been a big change and growth for you?"
It was when I decided to find Thomas Leroy and told him I wanted to cast swan' queen (19:40-23:09), and I decided to go to the San Francisco Dance theater. The act of Swan queen almost made me schizophrenic and even suicidal, but it also let me find my true self. I used to be a gentle and obedient white swan, but there was a black swan inside me. It was just not what my mother wanted to see. For 28 years of my life, I suppressed this black swan feeling. The experience of that performance made me completely release the black swan side of my heart, and my life has become gray since then. It is the perfection in imperfection and the imperfection in perfection. The decision to go to San Francisco Dance theater was also a growth for me. Many dancers were better and younger than me, and I had already lost even as long as I intentionally compared them. So, later I decided to establish my dance theater and dance classes. Although I did not love to dance that much, this has been my whole life. Fortunately, this choice suits me well. I don't have the halo of Swan Queen, but I have cultivated more swan Queens.
Me:  Did you ever see your mother, Thomas Leroy, Lily again? How will your absence affect them?
Nina: It was a significant influence on my mother. At that time, communication was not good, but my mother had
reached out to me. I strongly expressed my opinion, so she finally gave in and went back. I knew she would come to see me again, but I didn't resent it afterward. I have never seen Thomas Leroy and Lily again. Thomas Leroy has no feelings for everyone. What he loves is the swan on the stage and the art itself. Every Swan queen gets replaced one day as they get older. So my leaving didn't matter to them, and it was the best thing for me.
Me: If you choose once again, what would you do?
Nina: In today's society, with my current state of mind, I will live for myself. Whether dancing becomes my career or not, I'm not going to fight that hard. Of course, I will still try to leave my mother because it is necessary for me to grow up. It is not wrong to face the darkness of society and the other side of yourself early; at least this kind of growth will make me healthy. In today's society, even women like me will have an excellent way of living, so if I break through the oppression of mother’s love earlier, I will not have a hard time with myself.
Me: If you could say something to your old self, what would it be?
Nina: The end of perfection is imperfect. The white swan without the black swan can not live alone; the black swan is the same. Good and evil are in my body, so don't be oppressed by that system. Instead, find the environment that suits you and live your life. The swan Queen of the stage will die one day, and my life will not.
Me: Thank you for sharing your story. Your experience also reflects those who struggle in the real world. People will also reflect on their experiences and realize that everyone has another version of themselves. Thank you for interviewing you.

Environmentalism & Animated Films --- My Neighbor Totoro and Spirited Away
Tumblr media
If you love the world, it will give you beautiful things back; If you hurt the world, it will leave the most frightening and nauseating things too. Japanese animations My Neighbor Totoro and Spirited Away, released after two decades, tell two stories about children growing up in different environments, expressing the influence of the natural environment on people and their lives. My Neighbor Totoro revealed the love and beauty brought by protecting the environment to the audience in a positive way. At the same time, Spirited Away negatively showed the harm and backlash caused by environmental destruction to humans. The film reflects the importance of environmental awareness and expresses the same idea through different family education, characters, and mythological elements. This conveys the ecological values that people should respect nature and live in harmony.
Family education
My Neighbor Totoro and Spirited Away influence the environmental consciousness of the protagonist in their family education and show the differences in different ideas. My Neighbor Totoro tells the story of a father who moves to the country with his two children. Because Mei and Satsuki are curious about their new environment, they discover many exciting things in their constant exploration and become good friends with a large, chubby Totoro. In the dialogue segment from My Neighbor Totoro 36:20-39:00, the film shows how family education helps children better see nature. Mei is curious about a tree hole and meets Totoro. When her sister Satsuki and her father find her, Totoro is gone. Mei wanted to prove that a big Totoro existed but couldn't find it. Her father chose to believe her and said it was a forest miracle that gave Mei good luck. Finally, the three went home happily. The film shows the relationship between family and nature through parental education, which helps the two children better see the magical side of the environment. The father had never met Totoro, nor did he have the fantastical mindset of the children, but he believed him. When the children were frightened by the night's storm, the father made them laugh to drive away the terrible things. But when the children told their mother that their new house was a "haunted house," their mom responded positively. The model of homeschooling in My Neighbor Totoro films allows children to fall in love with their environment, establish a lifestyle that respects nature and allow big Totoro to be present in their lives. Spirited Away also takes place during the house move periods but in a different style. Chihiro's parents, out of curiosity, enter the spirited away world behind the tunnel.  Film 3:15-12:50 shows Chihiro's relationship with his parents and reveals the influence of this family education model on Chihiro's worldview. In the movie, Chihiro's parents refuse to listen to Chihiro's advice and stubbornly walk into the tunnel, eventually stopping at a full food stall. Chihiro chooses to enter the tunnel with her parents because she fears the unfamiliar environment. Still, when she sees her parents' behavior of eating without paying, Chihiro reacts with disgust and rejection. The parents in the movie have no sense of caring for the environment and are unwilling to listen to their children's actual voices. This upbringing causes Chihiro to view the world negatively; it's the same disdain she provides her new school. At the same time, the lack of love in her family also makes Chihiro fear and withdraw from the unknown environment, which prevents her from approaching nature.
The two films use similar plots to show children's environmental consciousness in different family education. My Neighbor Totoro uses the family education method of love and trust to help children correctly see and adapt to the living environment of nature. Spirited Away shows her parents' greedy and stubborn behavior in her family education, making Chihiro fearful of nature and unable to adapt to her new environment. Children's hearts are the same as nature's. Family education and behavior can give them a good or bad sense of the environment.
Characters
My Neighbor Totoro and Spirited Away use different characters' characteristics to show nature's secrets and deepen people's awareness of the environment. The appearance of the main character Totoro in the movie reflects the theme of caring for the environment and protecting nature and reveals the environmental story behind the character in a loving way. In the 50:30 to 54:00 part, Mei and Satsuki are waiting for their father on the rainy and dark forest night at Tatsuo's bus station. Then a big Totoro appeared with only a leaf on his head to protect against rain. Mei and Satsuki were not afraid and lent their umbrella to Totoro, who was excited about the rain hitting the umbrella for the first time. Totoro means death In Japanese mythology, and many adults see it as an evil symbol. In the movie, Totoro is not only honest and lovely but also good friends with Mei and Satsuki. Miyazaki's Totoro character is a forest spirit, who protects, and dominates the forest, helps the children when they are in trouble, and harmonizes with the people around the forest. My Neighbor Totoro film portrays a beautiful picture of harmony between man, the woods, and nature. Personifying the nature characters lets people learn to feel their magical and attractive appearance with love. Characters in Spirited Away show the importance of environmental awareness, and the most typical example is the river spirit character. From 55:05 to 1:06:24, the river spirit walks into the Bathhouse as a stink spirit with mud, but no one wants to help him bathe. Ultimately, Chihiro was the only one who offered to clean the river spirit's mud. In the movie, the river spirit symbolizes the river in nature. Bathhouse's spirits pull out suitcases, iron shelves, and bicycles from its body, representing the garbage people pour into the river in the real world.  In the era of rapid economic development, environmental damage is severe. River spirit characters are used in the film to reflect the bad behavior of people's lives and stimulate the audience's attention to environmental awareness. Unfortunately, the rise of the industry also forced the river spirit to wither into a river full of dirt and be forgotten by people. River spirit isn't the most prominent character in Spirited Away, but it is the most obvious reflection of environmental destruction. The appearance of the river spirit is to raise people's awareness of protecting the environment through this story and remind people of the harm to society caused by destroying the environment.
Both films use unique characters to convey the connection between man and nature, but the morals behind the characters in the stories differ. Totoro is considered a symbol of death, but the animation shows it warmly. River spirit's identity is admirable, but the Bathhouse did not allow it to come with mud. The contrast between the two characters is to arouse people's awareness of the environment and reveal nature's two sides.
Mythological elements
My Neighbor Totoro and Spirited Away movies are also full of mapped elements of different mythological colors, which exist in ways that imply the interrelationship between human and environmental consciousness. For example, in the animation My Neighbor Totoro, Miyazaki Hayao uses three elements, a paddy field, Inari, and foxes, to show Japan's traditional Inari culture and the character's respect for nature. In the movie 48:38-49:20, the element appears when girls wait for their father in the bus station. The station is marked as " Tatsuo's bus station" in front of girls and "Inari Okami" words on the back of the tree. The presentation of these details can make the audience understand the Japanese Inari belief more clearly. Inari is a Japanese kami of Shinto, mainly responsible for harvesting barns and grains. More importantly, people believe that the Inari can bring more harvest. However, the fox sculpture Mei saw in the forest is also one of the Inari shrines worshiped by people in Japanese mythology, which is Inari's messenger. Fox's belief is a fundamental part of rice planting culture, and many folk customs and forms are formed by farming culture. Through supernatural phenomena such as the fox's belief, movies lend a mythological touch to Japanese farming culture. Simultaneously, they intended to alleviate social unrest and consolidate Japan's agricultural cultivation and development. In the film My Neighbor Totoro, Mei and Satsuki's mother is ill in hospital, and their father takes them to live in the countryside. Many scenes of farming or close-ups of paddy fields exist in this dreamy field. Although the Paddy field represents the farming culture in Japan, the crop harvest in the paddy field cannot be without nature spirits. Because the Inari god is protected, the crop will be able to harvest next year. Director Hayao Miyazaki used paddy fields to represent the farming season and shows people's Inari god belief.
Tumblr media
Unlike My Neighbor Totoro, Spirited Away uses another mythological element to reflect nature's spirits after people destroy the environment. Such as the Torii architecture, Shinto, and Bathhouse of Spirited Away culture in movie 1:50-11:15; these almost invisible elements of Japanese mythology are also well-listed in the film. At first, the Chihiro family stumbled onto a sparsely populated road in the process of moving. The car accidentally crossed trees, a Torii, and many stone shrines. The elements of the Chihiro family's entry into the world are the element foreshadowing in the movie. Torii is a Japanese shrine annex similar to Stone arch, representing the boundary between the spirited away world and the real world. If Torii's appearance is Chihiro's first physical hint of entry into the spirited away world, Shinto's stone carvings should be the second. The Shinto sculpture reappears when the Chihiro family pulls up to an abandoned gatehouse. Shinto is the village's guardian in Japan, and the film serves as a reminder that the Chihiro family should behave once they enter the spirited away world. The Bathhouse is the most important building in the story, and its architectural prototype comes from many traditional buildings in Japan. Miyazaki wanted to bring out in the most Japanese way the form of society that Bathhouse is rich and diverse, with an element of Bathhouse appearing as Japanese forgotten natural miracles. The mythological elements of My Neighbor Totoro and Spirited Away are not so different, but their connotations are not the same.
Miyazaki Hayao's My Neighbor Totoro creates an idyllic scene for the audience, presents Japan's traditional beliefs, and reflects the nation's cultural characteristics. In contrast, the Spirited Away approach to understanding environmental pollution from the perspective of a  human destroyer awakens the audience's deep reverence for nature and ecology.

Youth Culture - The Breakfast Club (1985)
Tumblr media
This is John Bender, with the same face and personality as Nelson in the Simpsons. Bender has done almost everything, like drinking, fighting, taking drugs, vandalism, and swearing. He is a typical badass in the eyes of students and parents and a "worst student" in teachers' eyes. Because Bender sounded the fire alarm, which led to the cancellation of the school exam and the suspension of the whole school, he got punished by staying in school on Saturday.
In the beginning, Bender didn't respect anyone or the school property and was very maverick. He walked in rashly, wearing socks of varying lengths and shoes that could light fires, and swept the table as soon as he entered. Then he forced Bryan's seat, threw a paper ball at Claire, flirted with her, and claimed to urinate on the table. His behavior infuriates Andrew, who berates Bender and threatens him with violence. Bender was not angry. He tore the book and laughed at Andrew's wrestling club. Bender's behavior leads Andrew and Claire to believe that he is an anomaly who does not join school clubs and has no goals. But Bender argues against their double standard and says they also look down on Bryan's academic club. On the other hand, because of Bender's harassment, Claire often loses her temper with Bender, and sometimes she is made to cry by Bender. However, when she learned of the unfortunate situation of Bender in his family, she expressed her sympathy.
Bender constantly gets abused by his father and the same attack from her mother in the family. Thus, when he sees Claire's distaste for her parents, Bryan's family compels him to be a good student, Andrew's repressed by his father as a wrestler, and Alison's withdrawn personality. Bender felt they were all similar. So, he boldly expressed his dissatisfaction with his family and acted out his parents' words attacking him.
When Andrew doubts the authenticity of Bender's performance, he shows the scar on his arm where his father burned him with a cigar. Bender said it was because he spilled his father's paint in the garage. Then he threw the book away and climbed the stairs to sit alone. Bender's behavior and the scar shocked everyone and made Andrew feel remorse.
However, after several conversation rounds, they significantly changed their feelings about Bender. When Bender stole the door latch and got discovered by the principal, everyone did not report his behavior. Bender goes to the hallway to take out his weed, and everyone follows him. And when Andrew, competing with him, takes the wrong path, Bender takes the initiative to cover so everyone can escape back. He did not blame others when the principal himself confined him. So when he climbed back from the roof of the building, he noticed by the principle that everyone was helping him as a cover.
After Bender opened his heart to the others, he removed his hedgehog-like shell and revealed his kind-hearted and vulnerable side. As Bender crushes on Claire, he keeps sexual harassment to her;  but Claire kisses Bender's neck, and Bender seems a little overwhelmed. Claire eventually gives him a diamond stud as a gift, and they kiss and leave the school.
The Breakfast Club common theme relatable to contemporary youth culture:
The pursuit of heroic image
Every child's youth has its hero image; they envy these people and at the same time also aspire to become them. Whether being a team leader, acting cool, or trying something new, they admire someone who gets the experience and the pleasure. Like the Breakfast Club protagonists, the pursuit of heroic values is the culture of their youth. From 55m:25s to 57m:42s in the film, smoking is a kind of heroic image they want to present, and no matter how adults see it, they will think it is cool. Except for Alison, who was not involved, everyone else was very excited about smoking. Andrew walks out of the smoke-filled room and runs back and forth. Claire admits that she is the most famous person in school. Even good students like Bryan performed the line "Chicks cannot hold their smoke. That's what it is." (56m:02s). Moreover, in the film 1hr:10m:30s-1hr:14m:08s, Andrew told the reason why he stayed at school because he taped Larry Lester's buns together. But he did everything because of his father, and the reason is his father recounted the crazy events of his youth. Andrew thought those things were cool and would make his father feel better about him, but he wasn't encouraged. There are many things wrong with youth culture's pursuit of heroic values, but those come across as cool in their eyes. Because they never tried and didn't know the consequences, they pursue and engage with the behavior and demeanor of those who act cool.
Rebellious personality appearance
The rebellious appearance is an indispensable image of children in every youth culture, such as being disruptive, not doing what needs to be done, talking back to adults, and so on. But rebelliousness is not unusual among children in youth culture, who believe that the restraints of adults are the shackles they should break free from. For example, in the film 15:25-20:43, Bender removes the latch from the library to have a better private chat, making the principal very angry. In this part, children talk back to adults and refuse to admit their mistakes; the act of pulling the latch is their treason. But in their eyes, it was all the fuss of the headmaster, and they did not understand the meaning of the adult's criticism. Perhaps the inability to understand adults' thoughts is one of the reasons for their rebellious character and lofty appearance. But the more objective performance is that they are all teenagers who lack love. Each of the main characters in the drama thinks their family is unhappy, but they are unwilling to admit it. Ultimately, they can only grow up in the rebellious youth culture.
The confusion of life caused by environmental oppression
In the film, five characters grow up in different environments. They may be staggered together at a particular time but destined to separate. Although their background is diverse, youth life brings them the same confusion. From 1hr:19m:46s to 1hr:25m:52s in the film, the characters are told about the environmental pressures they face and the problems they have to face. The conversation started when Bryon asked if they would be friends on Monday and then went to the head when Claire said "no" due to life circle differences. Claire wept as she recounted the stress with her friends, saying she didn't know what to do but couldn't leave her friend's environment. Bryon and Andrew also admitted that they were stressed by the student environment and the athlete clubs because they got forced to do many things. Even though Alison has no friends, she finally admits she is lonely. Similar domains bring stress and confusion, while different backgrounds also bring incomprehension and distrust. Therefore, in the growth of youth culture, they did a lot of wrong things, eventually also in a smile to look back at their youth.
The Breakfast Club Theme Music
"We Are Not Alone," an eighties pop dance classic, brings five characters described as stereotyped to free dance. They are the world as we see it, bright colors with simple lines, the various people under the five labels, but they are not different inside. They are not just puppets under the eyes of the outside world or the family's branches and leaves; beyond the human body's limits, there is an irrepressible mind. It was like the song cried, "...We are not alone, 'Cause when you cut down to the bone, We're not so different, after all, after all..." Deep in the bone marrow is the same running screaming teenager. The music starts, and everyone dances in their way, giving vent to a passion with nowhere to go and no purpose. The standards of the adult world, class, background, environment, BMW driving father, and alcoholic domestic violence father, such barriers naturally cannot be broken; But here, they can shed their adult garments and be themselves. It's like the song lyrics said, "When I looked into your eyes and saw through your disguise."
"The Smashing Pumpkins- 1971 " is an old song by a Chicago rock band that is similar in style to The Breakfast Club song. The lyrics celebrate The crazy lifestyle of a young child, especially The line "Justine never knew The Rules, - Hung Down with the Freaks and the Ghouls, Apologies Ever Need Be Made, I know you better than you fake it to see "seems to use Bender's words to tell the world."
"When We Were You" is the theme song of the Three Musketeers. The song tells of the madness of youth in a pop-rock style as the characters look back on their youth years later—songs like telling Bender memorable stories of the young.
"This is Me" is the theme song of Camp Rock one, which expresses the theme of "to be what you are supposed to be." It reflected a person's process from not being brave to being confident. It symbolized Bender's behavior when he admitted that he was different from others. However, he was still courageous to be himself.
"We're All In This Together" is a youth school song, telling everyone has their specialties, but everyone is helping each other. It seems to tell all characters in the breakfast club that although they are different, they all have their own specialties, " so Together, Together, come on, let's have some fun."
The lyrics of "Too Cool" reflect the coolest style. It is similar to the feeling of cheering for the role of Claire. Like when she smoked, she confidently said she was the most popular girl at school.
The songs of "Our Time Is Here" seem to tell the youth is not over yet. For example, in the Breakfast Club, Bender's last action is to make a fist, symbolizing the film's end. But "Our Time Is Here" expresses youth is not over.
Just like Bender hated his family's life, "Numb Little Bug" expressed his boredom with life with the lyrics. Still, when he repeatedly asked himself whether he wanted to live, he insisted on going on.
"It's the teenage culture pain is pimples, acupuncture, bleeding lips and numbnеss, ulcers and misleading infrastructure" is the lyrics of “Teenage Culture.” The song uses rap to describe teenagers in disguise, but their perception of their lives is in tatters. This is similar to how many Breakfast Club characters feel about their families.
Like the title, the song "Who Will I Be" asks what kind of person you want to Be. But the music also expresses how teenagers choose problems in the face of life and pressure, just like the problems Andrew, Bryan, and Claire encounter.
“Wrong Way” is also an ancient rock song. It is about a girl with an unhealthy family who has been doing many wrong things. It was like a Bender's life. In the eyes of others, he went the wrong way.

RUILIAN'S BLOG INTRODUCATION
Name :
My name is Ruilian Song, this is my Chinese name. Unfortunately, I don't have an English name, at least not at present. But if people do not know how to pronounce it, I don't mind writing my name as Raylian. And I also have a bunch of nicknames, but it is not that important to remember.

But the most important and meaningful thing is the name, which seems to be a blessing from my family.
Rui means wise. It means that a person is far-sighted and has a deep understanding. But, even in Chinese, there are still a lot of people who make mistakes. Well, it has happened for so many years, so I am not that caring now.
Lian refers to the meaning of lotus. Ancient Chinese poetry said the lotus grows in mud yet never contaminates it. And she floats on waving water, yet never dances with it. Many people like the sound of it, but I prefer the meaning.
Education :
My education is across China and the America, and my high school is across California and New York.

Copyright © 2019 - 2022 by Ruilian Song I went to Washington High School in the Bay Area during my first and second years. I remember that I needed to ride my bike home in the hot sun every day. Back then, students were not required to write their homework on computers, and there have been no online classes since the pandemic. The pace of life was much slower than it is now.
Major :
Now I'm majoring in new media, and that's how it's divided at community college. But I hope that one day when I introduce my major, it is no longer a general term of new media but my favorite major -  film production.
My original intention of choosing the film major stems from my fine arts foundations and my curiosity for VFX. People at a young age will always like to try things differently. Unfortunately, I was also like most people, and it took me two full years from little knowledge to get into the career.

At first, I doubted whether I should continue to study visual art. Still, the traditional art and the collision of the new age of scientific and technological achievements let me change my original intention. In 2019 the summer, a chance let me rub shoulders with the film industry. With my curiosity about unknown things, I gradually understand the big picture of this career at a later time. I had my camera, computer, film lights, Gimbel, and many other gears to help me learn.
But initially, I still lacked a lot of knowledge and experience. Through studying in college, I found out what I could do. Through the internship, I learned about my shortcomings and the things needed to make breakthroughs. More importantly, I know how to learn more effectively.

It was a lot like the process I went from an unsuspecting toddler to a child who could recognize problems. But I know this is far from enough to become the standard of an adult.
Hobbies :
I have many hobbies that I would like to spend time doing. A little time, I am even a bit glad this is a way of life.

For example, I love singing. I will record songs and compose music by myself at home. I love the manual, so I bought a lot of plaster sculptures, threads to embroider, and bracelet beads with aluminum wire. Piano, ballet, and Chinese classical dance are also my hobbies in my leisure time. The pursuit of photography gives me a pair of eyes to see the world differently. As well as the flute, calligraphy, swimming, different kinds of chess, performance, books, and so on, the interest in developing my specialty also broadened my horizons.
I once heard a saying that doesn't compare your hobbies with other people's majors. Now that I think about it, there's a truth to it. I like a hobby because doing it can make me happy, not dull. And if I have to make a career, I have to accept the aspects I don't like, take frustration and boredom. So that's why many of my hobbies are just hobbies.

Sometimes I'm glad I have so many things I like to do that I don't have to spend so much time on my phone daily. But I am happier now that my hobby is also my major. I hope it can accompany me to know forever and never get tired.
Things related to me :
Book
I have not read books for a long time except for the textbooks required in school. But last month, I found a novel on a whim and spent a day reading it.
This book is called "Seven Unfortunate Lifetimes, All Thanks to a Single Moment of Impulse" This is a fascinating fantasy novel because it will be adapted into a TV series, so I found and read it myself in advance. The book's content is not long, but the style is very novel and unique, so I use this book to relax the mood.
Movie
Tumblr media
A lot of people like minions, and I do too. I went to the cinema to watch the fourth movie when it came out. But I recently remembered it, so I watched Minions four again. It's an amusing cartoon, and every character is so happy. I want to watch it again if I ever have a bad mood.
Coffee
I create my coffee every morning because I drink coffee every day, like making different flavors, and want to try other new products. I could use my coffee machine to make Mocha, Latte, or ice American at home. I'm still learning my latte art.
