So when Steve Harrington, heir to a hotel fortune and king of talentless masses, pops up on his screen, it should be Eddie's easiest target yet. Right?

Recommended by @threeweeks (AKA me, mod natalee! 🤩) Here’s what I have to say:

we received a request that ended up being for this fic late one saturday night and comrade andrew queued it up — you know, business as usual…at least i thought, until i woke up sunday morning and checked our inbox and we had at leasttt 15 asks that all said some variation of “SLITHER!!!!!! 521 IS SLITHER BY MIXADDAMS!!!!!”

my curiosity was of course instantly piqued as that is quite a high volume of responses to receive for one request. my taste in setting is pretty pedestrian (i love you hawkins) and i spend most of my time reading post-s4 getting together fics so modern aus aren’t usually my go-to, especially not modern aus that deal with communities that i am incredibly out of touch with in real life like podcasting and influencing, but i was honestly blown away by the unprecedented number of people who knew and loved this fic that i was like holy shit…maybe i need to read this. like right now. and boy am i glad i did because this fic was an absolute delight in every way!

i laughed out loud so many times, giggled, smiled, kicked my feet, the whole nine yards. i loved the characterizations and the growth that both steve and eddie go through was beautiful to witness. the feelings that the two of them have for each other were so strong and so palpable and i was completely absorbed in the atmosphere of it. most of all it was just really fun to read — could not recommend this one more!

It's Eddie's birthday. The first one that Steve will spend with Eddie, not just over all but as his boyfriend too. Steve invited everyone over to his house to celebrate, and Eddie's sitting there opening presents with a crown Steve made for him. Steve’s present is the first one he opens. It's a pair of fuzzy cat head slippers, and as Eddie sets them on the table, they meow.

"Steve, please tell me that's not what you got your metalhead boyfriend for his birthday," Robin looks at him with a ridiculous look on her face.

Eddie suddenly lets out an excited holler and starts to take off his shoes. He slips on the houseshoes and starts walking around. He meowed with the shoes. Robin looks over at Steve, who's smirking.

"I know my boyfriend," Steve said proudly.

"Boy," Wayne spoke up. "There's other presents you have to open!"

"Meow!" Eddie exclaimed as he jumped, grinning.
