There is an option for that though! It’s the “Just because I still love my wife/husband, doesn’t mean I can’t love you, too.”

I forgot what the text for the option to select is, but it’s definitely there.

(Also, if you reject Preston like that, he’ll come back later and ask you if you’re ready to move on now. It’s very sweet.”

I'm not sure if the dialogue option was misleading or I just didn't get it, but when trying to romance Preston I chose the "Still love my wife"option thinking The Sole Survivor is going to say "yes I still love my wife, but I also love you" and he just straight up said "yeah you know what on second thought I'm not ready to move on" :(

I reloaded the save file but it really caught me off guard

I’m just about to publish the first chapter of my Fallout 4 fanfic, so here’s my Sole Survivor, Leah Fox! From local solicitor for the town council to the savior of the Boston wasteland, she’s had quite the adventure in the distant, post-apocalyptic future.
