“Okay, I have good morals when it matters. School, however, is something that I’m fine with letting slide a bit.”
“Y’know…if I wasn’t currently working on a paper on the morals of today’s young adults, I might consider it, but you understand why I’m gonna pass, right?

“That’s... not a bad idea. Do you know anyone who’ll do it for cheap?”
“Why don’t you just.. Pay someone?”

“It’s math... So... The worst subject possible.”
“Depends on what subject the homework is for.”

“I’m not sure you’d be able to understand it... I don’t even understand it, and I’ve been attending the classes.”
“I can try.”

At this point, I’d be fine with that as long as it gets done.
I’d offer, but you’d likely end up failing.

“Well, thanks for getting my hope up.”
“I would… But I can’t.”

“Alright, if someone could just do my homework for me, that’d be great.”

I don’t think anyone does.
I honestly just don’t have the ability to care about school right now.

“Come on, the jello’s not that bad.”
“My favourite thing about not being in the hospital anymore is not having to eat lemon jello with every meal.”

“Oh, really?” Michael smirked, “Don’t forget that I can do the same with your brother.”
“No, not today maybe later this month.” She said joking.

Michael grinned at her, “Who knows? Maybe you suddenly decide that you like to torture me?”
She raised a brow at his words, laughing. “Michael, why would I tell you siblings?”

Michael grimaced slightly as he glanced around, seeing what Darius was talking about, “Yeah, they all really want to get a scoop of the story,” he sighed. The shooting had been a big deal, and of course, so was the memorial service, “Are you okay?”
“You would think reporters would have better taste than to be at something like this too. But of course they’re here. Of course they are.” Really, Darius was just irritated because of the amount of people he’d heard cursing and damning Jamison since he arrived. Perhaps he shouldn’t have come after all. But he couldn’t help it. He couldn’t sit at home, and there was nowhere else to go – and though he couldn’t blame their anger, he couldn’t make himself less angry about the damning words either. “They’re like fucking vultures, I swear.”

Michael gave a sigh, relaxing slightly now that he was sure his sister had relatively calmed down. He rubbed her back softly, trying to bring her comfort. He knew the uncertainty in the situation was something that was hurting a lot of people. None of them knew just how to deal with it. This sort of thing didn’t happen in a town like Roxbury, after all. He had absolutely no idea how to approach it, but he knew that he had to do something. He had to help.
“Hey, I’m always going to worry about you, and Eliza, and Daniel, and Sarah,” he told her, smiling slightly. He knew he worried a lot. It was just in his nature. He’d been anxious his entire life, especially over his siblings safety, “Don’t worry about me. I can deal with it. Let’s focus on you getting better, alright?”
Memories || Emily & Michael
She took a deep breath, as tears filled her eyes. She didn’t know what to do anyone. She wasn’t sure how to act or what to except. She had been trying so hard the last few days for everything to go back to the way it was before. For herself to go back to the way she was before everything happened, but it seemed like the more she tried the further she got from who she used to be.
She let out a soft whimper at his words. She knew that he was right, but didn’t want to think of it like that. Like she was the victim of something. It made everything feel all to real, and that nothing could go back to the way it was. “I don’t need to make you worry more.” She said finally.

Michael gave a nod of agreement, releasing a sigh, “I don’t think this is going to die down for a long time.”
“That’s the biggest downside of a place as small as Roxbury, I guess,” he mused, shaking his head. “I mean, something like this would shake up anywhere. But with a place this small… It’s gonna reverberate for a long time.”

Michael grinned slightly and nodded, following her down the stairs, “Yeah, I think we’re gonna need a lot of it. Just... don’t tell my siblings.”
As she finished locking up she turned to him as they started walking down the stairs. “I heard. That’s a good thing because I don’t think I have enough drinks in my apartment for the both of us.”
