Black Twitter

The purpose of this week’s assignment is to understand the meaning behind the different parts of social media. Social media is not only for one gender, one race, or one political view. The reasoning behind my posts is to show the differences happening throughout social media. Black Twitter is a huge part of my life because I somehow found my way into one of the funniest kinds of Twitter out there. I strongly believe that without things like Black Twitter or Latinx Twitter, people will not have a place to go to where they can easily relate to others. Black Twitter is important to social media because a lot of different movements and hashtags have come from Black Twitter. The most prominent ones are #BlackLivesMatter, #JusticeForBreonnaTaylor, #ICantBreathe, and so many more. Black Twitter not only helps start trends like TikTok dances, but it helps spread awareness about issues some people might not know anything about. Black Twitter is an important part of my life. I use it every day and I hope, one day, people understand the role it plays in society.

Companies being able to work with social media influencers to help boost their inclusivity on social media might be what we need to avoid any outrageous ads.

This is an example of how latinx twitter can be a place for funny memes or tweets others can relate to. Outside of fighting for everything happening in South America, looking at something funny is a nice distraction.
