i've been having some thoughts about kyle re: romantic relationships and the fact that i do not think he would pursue something romantic with someone, especially after joining the 141. i think people are fooled by how approachable he is; how quickly he endears himself to people and how easy it is to get along with him. his personality is definitively not the issue, but he isn't just some boy next door. the life he leads is fully committed to his work, work that whisks him away for months at a time and could potentially get him killed at any moment. when he decides to stay with the 141 he goes all in, and no part of his life is unaffected. being involved with him would encompass so much concern and heartache, i do not think he would willingly do that to someone, regardless of how he feels.
#long story short yes he WOULD be a good partner if he was in a position to BE one. but also like..would he really?#because it's vital that it isn't just the work that's the problem it's his relationship to the work and who he is as a person#it's the fact that he cannot and will not prioritize himself or anyone else above what needs to be done.#in the life he's living he could never prioritize someone above his work and he'd never put someone through that.#i don't even think he'd pursue anything with someone who's in a similar position themselves because of the risks involved#sorry i know this makes shipping seem impossible and it isn't i cross my heart but i just think large parts of the fandom disregards this#and reduce kyle to this perfect idyllic boyfriend who buys you flowers and takes you out on dates or that his only issue is his work#like his life isn't in a completely different dimension. like he hasn't committed himself to a life so far removed from it all.#and that he's done that by CHOICE.#askjdg anyway!! i would absolutely love ships for kyle but it DOES require heavy plotting because of all of what's mentioned above#im just glad to be gazposting again. nature is healing <3

hi blog, sorry for my continued absence. things went from bad to worse at work with a coworker having to go on sick leave for burn-out and another quitting entirely. we're all scrambling to stay afloat until the end of term, but it is taking a toll. i'm really hoping to be here more, i know i need the creative outlet and that it makes me feel better to be here, but at the minute i barely have the energy to take care of my physical needs after i get back from work in the afternoons. i hope you're all well, or that things are moving in the right direction if you aren't. thank you for your patience with me, take care and here's to hoping i'll at least be around on the dash more in march.

dark clouds have descended upon the sloping mountainside, a harsh wind whipping across the expanse of trees and rocks, snow cascading down without mercy in a relentless assault on the mountain and all on it. gaz trudges through rapidly decreasing visibility with singular determination, body hunched in and folded over as to protect himself from the storm beating down all around. what had been in their favor while infiltrating the airbase had quickly become their largest adversary when it came to getting out of it, and with their exfil vehicle destroyed, it is now what's keeping them from getting off the mountain altogether.
the whiteout of the storm closes in, and it's just as the visibility drops even further that he sees the flash of a familiar shape among the trees. " lieutenant! " he calls above the howl of the wind as he comes upon where ghost has dug in, kneeling and turning his shoulder against the storm's barrage. " that's a negative on exfil, sir. the car has been destroyed ⸺ suppose konni wants us to stick around for a rematch. " he says with a wry twist of the mouth, shrugging his pack into the space between them before settling with his back against the makeshift wind blocker, relief flooding his chest in time with the breath he can finally allow himself to catch.
" i grabbed what i could from the wreckage, but i reckon we're going to have to get comfortable until this clears. " the 'clears enough for nikolai to get through' is left unsaid as he finally turns his gaze from the ice cold frenzy that encircles them to the man at his side, " unless you've got a snowmobile tucked away somewhere, sir. "

anyway first post is going to be me screaming over the fact that gaz got to be the voice of reason re: gen. shepherd. kyle "i will kill us both" garrick has grown so much since the disaster at piccadilly, since nearly launching himself throough bullet-proof glass at the butcher, and it's all because he has faith in the work they do. he no longer feels the need to take every given opportunity to balance the scales because it has been proven to him that justice comes when they pave the way for it. i might not have gotten to play as him as much this time around but just seeing his growth makes me scream into my hands.
#/ mw3 spoilers.#and the juxtaposition of g.az's growth compared to pr.ice who's narrative is going in the opposite direction..good good food#g.az and pr.ice have in effect switched places because where g.az has grown to trust the process pri.ce has been burnt by it#because having made the choice to let ma.kar.ov live haunts him.#he blames himself despite having made the decision that WAS right at the time#because it all came crashing down and it is such an interesting progression for his dynamic re: gaz im GRRRR BARK BARK BARK BARK

001. shipping: i am 28 years old, for my own comfort i will not be shipping with any writer below the age of 21. nsfw may occur, it will always be properly tagged and under a rm. ships (romantic, platonic, antagonistic) are some of my favorite areas to explore so please do not hesitate to reach out if you have a dynamic in mind!
002. selectivity: i will not follow blogs that post their replies as images or write real-life people. i hardblock on sight at any indication of shipping and/or writing inc*st, nsfw involving minors, harmful stereotypes, or bigotry. if i do not follow you, please do not engage with my ic content, i will softblock if this rule is broken. this blog is 18+ only, if you do not have your age stated somewhere on your blog i will not follow you back. this is not a military friendly blog. do not follow me if you romantizise or glorify the military.
003. duplicates: i do not mind duplicates of my muse, but when it comes to my partners i do tend to stick to one portrayal. because i keep my following to those i intend to write with, this means that i usually do not follow back blogs of muses i already have an established dynamic with. this is a case-by-case thing and doesn't always apply, but i think it's fair to mention. there is absolutely no pressure or requirement that you return this, you're free to write with as many kyles as your heart desires, this is just how i function asdlkjg
004. activity: i work full time mon-fri as a teacher, so the speed of my replies do not reflect my interest but more so my workload offline. if you have a reply pending from me, feel free to ask the status of it, but keep in mind that i am not a quick writer. this applies to ooc as much as it does ic. at times i have periods of extended absence from tumblr and social media at large, and more often than not i'll just pick up communication where it was left off when i come back around. i know this is not something that's compatible with everyone, and that's completely okay, just know that it is nothing personal.
005. triggers: all triggers known to me will be tagged with a standard tw: trigger tag. if there is something regularly appearing in my content that you need tagged please do not hesitate to reach out to me.
006. interactions: liking interaction calls or sending memes are the best ways to start up interactions with me. mutuals are also welcome to drop into my IMS or ask about my disc.
