You are the worst kind of good because you aren't even great, 'cause you fight to save lives but won't kill and you don't get the job done. I need to make you learn how ruthlessness is mercy upon ourselves.

And you say.. "As long as I'm here, no one can hurt you. Don't want to lie here but you can learn to. If I could change the way that you see yourself. You wouldn't wonder why you hear, "They don't deserve you."

Feeling like I got something to prove, I’m destructive just like you.     Because I learned it from the best, lashing out when I’m a mess.      I don’t really mean to be so cruel but I hate the part of me that’s just like you.     I’m just like you. . .

No, the problem wasn’t our love. The problem was that I wanted it too much, wanted you too much and you didn’t want it enough. -x

This is your destiny.
This is why you were born.
The words echoed in his mind and no matter how much he tried to shake them off, he couldn’t. The fact remained that Sai was always a child with a purpose. He often watched as other children held onto their mother’s hand while walking down the street but his mother never stretched her hand out to him. It was weakness. Never to any of his siblings. However, Ryssa and Olivia were often the ones that held each other’s hand and sometimes Olivia would try to come up and hold his hand but their mother always scolded her when she did. Sai could only ever dream to have a gentle touch.  Wandless magic was something that came naturally. It had to. It was in his blood. His mother pushed him every night to train. Use the magic within him to hurt, to heal, to kill.
The first time that Sai killed, he was only 10 years old. His father demanded him to shoot the killing curse at a dove. Maybe if it were a rat he could do it, maybe if it were a crow, he could do it. Not that he wanted to kill those creatures either but maybe it’d be easier than to see something that symbolized beauty and peace.  At first he couldn’t do it. He stood there shaking while his father yelled at him to stop being so weak. He remembered when he told him that he wouldn’t be able to kill something that was not at fault. His parents knew that deep down, Sai loved his siblings above everything and that’s why he always made sure they were never put in situations like his own. That’s why he did his best to train and so of course, being a weakness that it was, his father grabbed Ryssa that night after dinner.
He remembered the way that she was dragged by the hair into the dark room, crying and begging not to be. Sai remembered begging his father to let her go but his hold on her hair simply tightened the more he cried. His father held Ryssa up by her hair, lifting her off the ground as he did so with his hand pointed at her.
“Either you kill the dove or I kill your sister.”
Sai remembered having tears running down his face as he shook his head, attempted to plead his father not to and rethink the situation. He didn’t want to kill but the truth was that for things to be completed the way they wanted, Sai needed to become cold. To let him know that he was serious, that was the first night that Ryssa was crucio’d in front of her brother.
“Stop! Please, leave her alone!”
“Crucio!”
Her screams echoed the house as she kicked and tried to get away. Her body withering in pain.
“I’ll do it!” He finally said as he fell to his knees. “Just.. let her go!”
With that, his father dropped Ryssa to the floor where she was crying from the amount of pain her body was put through. She was only 8. Sai stood up over the dove as his father stared him down and that was the first time he saw the flash of green by his hands as the bird fell over... dead.
The second time he killed was when he was 12. There had been a prophecy that lingered through whispers in Diagon Alley’s darkest corners.
They’re going to make him a killer. That Riddle boy must be stopped. The Department of Mysteries has already confirmed that the prophecy is him and he will be guided by Selina Slytherin herself. He is the new heir because it is said that Tonya will fail. They are getting ready.
Sai remembered being followed home that time. He had taken Olivia to get some ice cream and considering the amount of training that he had already gone through, he knew he was being followed. Sai urged Olivia to run home. Anything to keep his sister safe. The problem was him.
These were Unspeakables that were following him. Harriet was the Chosen Child for good while Sai was the Chosen One for evil. They cornered him, unaware of just how much he was trained in dark magic. There was fear in him and he was sure they could see it. If it was his choice, he’d never do any of this.  Sai tried to run, he tried to lose their trail but they were fast. No matter how much he ran or apparated different places, they had a tracker and it was just futile. Sai knew that his parents weren’t going to come to his aid. No one was. Sai was unaware that these Unspeakables had been sent from Gaia Gryffindor herself. To her, he was a problem that needed to be eliminated.  He saw this in their thoughts, having learned how to be able to read minds now. He couldn’t believe that someone had sent a group of adults to kill him.
When they circled him, there was a darkness that surrounded him. Almost like something broke inside him and within a moment, they all dropped dead. The dark magic that his parents had been teaching him was working. Sai had made sure their souls had left their bodies as he fell back against the brick wall that they had cornered him against in tears again.  So many dead bodies surrounded him. So much death that it was messing with his mind.
“You did excellent. I am sorry that I was unable to come sooner.”  An unfamiliar female voice could be heard as he dared to slowly look up and now lock eyes with her. She knelt down in front of him and cupped his face gently in her hands. A touch that was unfamiliar to Sai. Unaware at that time that the comfort would come with a price.
“My name is Selina. You will no longer be alone. Understood?”
Sai stared at this woman and nodded slowly. He hesitated to let himself be comforted because the words of weakness repeated in his mind but the woman brought her arms around him and brought him into an embrace where the tears mindlessly fell from Sai’s eyes.
“It gets easier. It is unfortunate such a burden had to be placed on your shoulders but trust me, you will bring greatness to this world. I need you to be strong for me, okay? No one will know about what happened here. No one but us. You will be protected.”
Perhaps that’s why Sai swore loyalty to her afterwards. No one had told him such gentle words before. He went through Hogwarts observing. Draca was a distraction for both Harriet and the Headmistress Dumbledore. He watched and trained under Selina despite not showing his abilities in class. Selina offered protection and understanding while Gaia and the rest of the founders had attempted to kill him instead of helping him.
The only thing he requested from her would be that his sisters be protected and kept away from it all which the deal was honored until Ryssa broke away from them. In which case, he knew that if worse came to worse, Sai would have to kill his sister but he played the role for a long time that he was on her side, pretending to help give her information to pass to Esme when really he just guided her to all dead ends.
He played the role of a hesitant brother but too many things happened that just solidified Sai’s coldness. The on going abuse. Losing Emilia was the worst that happened. Being forced to bring forth children who would be his back up if he failed. Too much just made him tired and he no longer cared. His fight faded over time to where he became her perfect puppet, ready to give his life at any moment for the cause if asked.
