Wish I was smart enough to accurately put this into words but I find Sykes to be one of the more realistic villains in a D.isney movie. I mean, he’s a bloody loan shark and a violent one at that, something I think the movie could’ve easily gone overboard but didn’t (not overboard in the gorey sense but personality if that makes sense). He stays pretty realistic to real loan sharks in the movie.

I think one of the details I appreciate the most is the fact that homie has a straight-up gun.

sure he isn’t the first villain to carry one in a D.isney movie however unlike villains like Gaston or Clayton, my man's Sykes has a modern-looking gun, not an older model/cartoon gun like the previous two.

Which is why I actually hate his death scene (and the climax of the film in general). Not just because I like him (though it probably has strongly affected my opinions on this!) but it's way too … cartoony for a character like Sykes. It makes his presence in the movie less meaningful to me.

shoutout to mixed black selfshippers. whether you feel connected to your cultural roots or not, your f/o does not think any less of you for it. they do not treat you any differently because of your lineage, and they're always there to listen if you need to talk about your relationship with your different cultures. whether your skin is lighter or darker, hair straighter or curlier, whether you're white-passing or not, your f/o loves you as you are and they will always be there for you regardless.

3. how do the other characters generally feel about your self-insert?

A lot of the characters mostly view Gray as a bit unnerving, with its monotone voice and its emotionless face however most don’t bother it often.

Gray's friends are Soda, Tiger, and reluctantly, SMM and while I wouldn’t say much downright hate Gray, some of the others like Don and most of the gang back in a.rm wre.stling do hold a dislike for it. AW reasoning why is a bit complicated (might make a separate post for that) while Don just doesn’t like how unapproachable Gray can be.

4. would you be considered a main character, side character, villain, or something else?

If Gray was ever an official character I think it'll be a recurring background character though in my reconstructed PO lore, Gray is a side character. Its story doesn’t affect the main plot a lot it does affect some of the characters that are important to a bigger fic I have been working on and off on.

5. does your self insert have any special powers or abilities?

I imagine it does have its own moves the player/M.ac would be wary about however I struggle coming up with ideas for a move set that's not only interesting but also fits Gray.
