WUWA housing exhibition (German. Wohnungs- und Werkraumausstellung = Housing and Workplace Exhibition) in Wrocław - organized in 1929 by the Silesian Deutscher Werkbund union in the Dąbie district near Szczytnicki Park and on the fairgrounds adjacent to the Centennial Hall.
Heinrich Lauterbach, founder of the Silesian Werkbund union, contributed most to the organization of the exhibition. Together with Adolf Rading, he took over the artistic direction of the exhibition.
The goal of WUWA was to present proposals for small and medium-sized apartments, a new form of houses, taking into account technological aspects. The buildings built were to be low-cost; efforts were made to ensure that each apartment user would get his own place, isolated from others.
APPROACHING THE SHIMMER & ESCAPING FROM REALITY ( 2023 )
" APPROACHING THE SHIMMER " is inspired by the movie " Annihilation " ( 2018 ) and specifically the scene when Lena stares at the shimmer.
Everyone can interpret this piece differently. For everyone the mentioned second piece may symbolize something different. It can be something we do for the first time, a feeling we feel for the first time, an event we experience for the first time. But I don't want it to be something scary, just beautiful. Because this shimmer is in my world, which I created myself, which is beautiful, in which I feel safe and to which I escape. This brings us to the shimmer.
" ESCAPING FROM REALITY " shows a literal escape from reality. Into my own world where no one else has access. Why? Because when they do get access they destroy all the flowers I planted there. I'm tired of constantly planting them again. This is my safe space where everything is better.

The process of being reincarnated or born again. A period of new life, growth, or activity; a revival. You can refer to a change that leads to a new period of growth and improvement in something as its rebirth.
" REBIRTH " tells about every fall and bad event in life, after which comes the moment of regaining strength, faith in yourself and a better tomorrow. About letting go of the old, and at the same time dead version of yourself, and rebirth of a new one. Stronger, with a clear mind and enriched by more experiences.

The persona of flora embodies the spring, the feeling of rebirth, and discovering new signs of the world flourishing as it awakes from the winter slumber. It can also be considered the 5th lost element 🌸

SUPERFICIES is the third project in collaboration with FLUID Magazine and a young drag queen from Wrocław, whose drag name is Caryca Carlovica Hoestar.
The title as well as the theme of the session
is about the intersection of identity and appearance. A conflict resulting from social norms that impose on us the way we view our morals and/or abilities through the prism of how we express ourselves.
[2/2] on this day two years ago, the first part of a series of photos showing the architecture of Wroclaw during the communist era was published. that was also the name of the series before. thus Brutalism & Modernism 62-88 celebrates its 2nd birthday! 🎉 on this occasion I am uploading 12 photos from the whole photo series and I encourage you to visit my portfolio to see more of them: https://mateuszsliwinski.wixsite.com/portfolio
I am very proud of this series. I have a great sentiment for it and while creating it I was able to disconnect from the real world and forget about what was going on in my head and the problems I was struggling with at the time. these photos in part gently show how I felt at the time. despite all the chaos I was happy creating this series and proving to others that the architecture of communist era is not at all as scary and ugly as everyone says. through this series I fell in love with the architecture of brutalism and modernism. I think that these buildings are beautiful, but in their own unique way and hide different stories.
thank you for all the support I have received throughout this time, for your kind words and motivation ❤️🔥 it is great of you and remember
in this house we stan Jadwiga Grabowska-Hawrylak 💅🏻
