Love!!!… The Essence of Magerit's Eternal Collection
Every creation in the world has the ability to transmit an emotion, and jewelry has its own way of doing so. We’re not talking about any jewelry collection; we’re talking about Magerit’s Eternal collection. With love being the essence of every human emotion, it comes alive in exquisite jewelry pieces through three great stories that inspired the brand Magerit in the creation process.
The first of these three emblematic love stories is the great Shakespearean work Romeo and Juliet, which inspires a set of pieces full of romantic ornaments bursting with subtle forms, volumes and movement. The second is the legend of the Butterfly Lovers and constitutes the source of inspiration for a set that depicts the butterfly with details perfectly embodying sweetness and sensitivity and colors providing the pieces with a touch of freshness and luminosity. Last but not least is the opera Carmen – which inspires pieces dominated by the color red to reflect the strength and passion this story is all about, resulting in artistic creations filled with dynamism.
Is there a more daring and timeless way to interpret love? We think not! So we invite you to visit the Photo Gallery and judge by yourself!

‘The Harmony of Land & Sea’ Bracelet - by Tang Yuk Yung
Hong Kong Jewellery Design Competition Winners Revealed
Champion’s earrings demonstrate creative take on this year’s theme
10 August 2020 – The results of the 21st Hong Kong Jewellery Design Competition have been announced, with designer Lee Wing-yan, sponsored by Luk Fook Holdings (International) Limited, taking the top prize with her entry “Freedom and Bondage”. The main design element of her earrings is a group of flying doves breaking free from their tethers to reclaim their freedom. Ms Lee took the Best of Show Award & Craftsmanship and Technology Award in the Open Group in recognition of her excellence in jewellery design and craftsmanship. The theme for this year’s Jewellery Design Competition was “Relative‧Compatible”.
Another Best of Show Award winner in the Open Group was designer Tang Yuk-ying, sponsored by C.S.S. Jewellery Co. Limited, who created “The Harmony of Sea and Land” using blue and yellow ribbons to represent the symbiosis between ocean and land. Her creative and delicate bracelet expresses how having an open mind and loving heart allows people to live in harmony. Designer Chareine Lee, sponsored by Charente Fine Jewelry, also won a Best of Show Award in the Open Group with her entry “Eternity”. Her meticulous pendant shaped as a set of unique gears represents the “eternity of time”.
In the Student Group, Chung King-wai from the Hong Kong Design Institute created an exceptional pendant to take the top place. His entry “Metal and Wood” is a simple yet striking design combining two contrasting materials that reflects the competition’s theme. Hattie Chan from the Technological and Higher Education Institute of Hong Kong with her entry “Coral” and Law Yuen-kwan from the Hong Kong Design Institute with her entry “Victoria” were joint first runners-up in the Student Group.
The Hong Kong Jewellery Design Competition is jointly organised by the Hong Kong Trade Development Council (HKTDC), Hong Kong Jewellers’ & Goldsmiths’ Association, Hong Kong Jewellery & Jade Manufacturers Association, Hong Kong Jewelry Manufacturers' Association and the Diamond Federation of Hong Kong, China. This year was the 21st edition of the competition which, over the past two decades, has served to identify many budding talents and promote Hong Kong jewellery products to an international audience.
The latest edition of the competition received around 160 entries. After screening by a panel of seven judges, the winning entries in the Open and Student groups were announced.
Organised by the HKTDC, the HKTDC Hong Kong International Diamond, Gem & Pearl Show will take place from 1 to 5 March 2021 at AsiaWorld-Expo while the HKTDC Hong Kong International Jewellery Show will be held from 3 to 7 March 2021 at the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre. The 22nd Hong Kong Jewellery Design Competition, with the theme “Light.Shadow”, is now open for application. For more details please refer to https://bit.ly/3gl2bJX

Early Victorian 14k Gold Padlock Heart Clasp Rolo Link Bracelet
Details
Description
This is part of Chairish’s Fine Jewelry assortment. Circa the 1840’s, the centerpiece of this 14k gold bracelet is a heart shape padlock clasp with a garnet carbuncle. The oval cabochon has a high profile and blood red glow—the gold backing behind the stone gives it a warm luminescence that shines through as the stone moves in the light. The garnet is prong set and surrounded by a viney leaf motif that intertwines with the prongs and is reminiscent of Sleeping Beauty’s rose garden labyrinth. The padlock is also a locket with a back panel that pops out to hold a picture. The locket is clasped onto a beautiful rolo link bracelet, handmade with incredible repoussé—each link was pounded onto a mold and then bent into circular links patterned with flowers and vines. The bracelet is 8 1/4” and weighs 19 grams. The extra length allows the heart padlock to dangle on the wrist. The bracelet and padlock test as 14k gold. The garnet carbuncle measures 11.5 x 7.5 x 7.5 mm. The piece is in great shape for its age, with some minor wear to some of the links. The heart padlock has a push button to open and pops shut. The padlock measures 5/8” x 1 1/8”.
