There's a homebrew table of travel encounters for CoS (not necessarily combat ones) that has the option of your players just passing by Rahadin on the road while he's on his way somewhere else. This is something you do if they've never seen Rahadin before, and if they try and talk to him he's just like "be glad I have no business with you today."

I'm 100% doing this, it's too fucking funny. Imagine you're new to Barovia, you see some guy coming down the road. Its day and he's alone so you're not especially wary, then you notice oh he's a dusk elf you haven't seen many of those. You wave and say hi. He ignores you. Then you pass within 10 feet of him and are KNOCKED BACK BY A WAVE OF HORRIFIC UNEARTHLY SCREAMS AND WAILS, and he just looks you in the eye like "keep scrolling motherfucker."
