I spent most of my free time the last few months making 15 sample pages, a ton of character art/tournarounds, and finalizing the script for my MG fantasy graphic novel pitch. I’ve been querying agents for the fourth time, and while I know it’s an insanely competitive industry, I’m determined that by sheer stubbornness and consistently creating projects I’ll eventually break into the industry. My hope is to one day sell my backlog so I’ve generally refrained from posting any of my pitches online, but I spent so many hours on this one, I at least wanted to post a paneled IG piece that shows off a spread (I did 15 pages for the pitch, this is pages 8 and 9 I believe). I did this one entirely in procreate, but am aiming to learn the basics of CSP and do my next pitch in that instead. It took me maybe 2 years to really feel like I was 100% confident in procreate and knew every tool and function, I’m hoping since there’s a decent amount of overlap on CSP from both procreate and photoshop it’ll be a faster transition. Large repeat of my witchy textile design. I realized I hadn’t added my society6 or red bubble (though admittedly I still need to put a lot more time in to uploading things to red bubble still) to my linktree, but I did earlier today which along with spoonflower is all the places this one is available. Small repeat of a witchy themed textile I completed recently. I’ve been having a lot of fun with mixing texture brushes and watercolor brushes. This pattern was drawn with micron pens then scanned and colored digitally. A repeating clover textile I did a while ago but never posted. Large repeat of my donut textile, the last of the food ones for a while. I’ve been noticing as I pull a few together that food and animals seem to be my main themes for surface patterns, I guess because I love them both 😆 I did deviate away from those themes in the next few though!
