happy new year
you know what is kinda interesting, is i saw another artist's resolution list and one of their resolutions was to draw more fanart. maybe i'll do that too
one of my resolutions for this year was to try taking away the internet browser on my phone. that lasted about 2 days. so i am gonna try something else. also in general i've been trying to accomplish one big thing each year. i haven't decided on what that thing is yet, but i've gotten back into my old hobbies so i'm sure something will come up

this piece is the one that made me struggle the most internally. actually kind of been the reason why i delved into landscapes in the last few years.
even though i grew up reading manga and watching anime, like so much that it became my world, i myself did not partake in japanese school life growing up. all i know of it is what i saw in fiction.
so after a while i started to question myself. are these drawings really mine? physically they are, but they also aren't. i'm drawing what i saw, but i only saw what someone else saw. my vision was a secondary distortion of someone else's initial interpretation.
so that's why i tried getting into landscapes stuff. based on things that i personally knew and experienced, what i saw with my own eyes, seemed to be a lot of landscapes. these things didn't exist in my imagination, they were actually mine.
