Summer Nights
This party is boring.
Keira sighs and leans against the wall. Her brother - Lucas - abandoned her for his beloved girlfriend. So now she's alone.
"Lady Keira," a familiar voice says. The black haired girl looks up and meets the golden eyes of Ijekiel. She smiles at him.
Ijekiel, her brothers love rival, and she became kind of friends. Lucas has no idea, and that's good. Although she would love to see the look on his face once he realises that Ijekiel stole her heart.
Lucas would go crazy.
"Lord Ijekiel!" She exclaims and looks at him with sparkling eyes. "You just saved me from boredom!"
The boy chuckles. "It's not that boring of a party." He looks away from her. His eyes scan the party.
He's probably looking for Princess Athanasia. Keira clenches her hands. She doesn't like losing, actually she really hates it. That's probably the fault of her family who always let her win. Or maybe because she was raised in a way that told to never lose.
Her mother wouldn't accept the fact that she just let guy she liked go. No, Keira is supposed to fight for him, but it isn't worth it. Why would she force a guy who doesn't like her to like him? That's wrong.
"The princess left with the magican a few minutes ago," says Keira. Ijekiel tears his gaze away from the room and looks back at Keira. To her surprise, he doesn't look disappointed.
"Oh... I see," he replies.
She's surprised by that reaction. The normal disappointment is gone from his features. Her heart beats a little faster. Is it possible that he likes her back? Has he finally fallen for her?
"Ijekeil, I don't feel so good," claims Keira suddenly. She has a plan. Tonight is the night.
Worry immediately fills Ijekiels expression. He quickly steps closer. "What's wrong?" He asks.
"I feel a little nauseous," she continues her lie. "Can we go for a walk?"
Ijekiel nods, and the two make their way outside. It's a nice night. The stars are out and clearly visible. It's not cold, but not really hit either. It has the perfect temperature.
Keira smiles as she holds onto Ijekeils arm. Should she say it now?
"Ije-", "Keira-" They both say at the same time. Both blush. "You first," they say in sync again. Both chuckle.
"Okay, you first," says Keira and looks at Ijekiel. She can't wait for what he tells her.
"Keira..." He starts and sighs. It's time. He'll finally confess. She can't wait. She's already planning the wedding. "I know that your Lucas' sister."
The world stops. That's what he wanted to say? He wasn't going to confess? She feels stupid.
"How? I know that he has been hiding that well," Keira questions, confused. Ijekiel sighs. "I saw you two together, I first thought that Lucas might be cheating because you two looked so close, but I don't think you'd do something like that. I followed and learned that you two are siblings."
Again, Ijekiel sighs. "Did your brother tell you to distract me from Princess Athanasia?"
Keiras eyes widen. Is that what he thinks this is? It can't be.
"No! I swear, I'm not working with my brother. I just... I just wanted to be with you," she defends herself and looks to the ground. Ijekiel is quiet, and it makes her nervous.
Then, he puts his hand under her chin and raises her head. "I believe you," sooths Ijekiel her worry. "You don't seem like the type of person to do that, Keira. Even if you were, it wouldn't matter. I quite like being with you."
Keira blushes again. "Well, I really really like being with you," she confesses and smiles. "Err, what I wanted to tell you earlier Ijekiel..." Keira fidgets with her fingers and looks to the side. "So, I really like you. Like in the way you like Athanasia - or liked. Personally I would prefer liked but it's fine if you still like her."
Ijekiel's features seem to soften. "Me too. I really really like you too. Definitely in the way I used to like Athanasia, probably even more."
Keira smiles a big bright smile. "Then, will you kiss me?" She asks. Ijekiel now is just as red as her. "Yes, definitely."
He leans down and presses his lips against hers. Keira smiles into the kiss. She wraps her arm around his neck.
"Ey! What the fuck!" Another voice calls out. Keira quickly pulls away from Ijekiel and looks at her furious looking brother.
The blond girl behind him sighs. "Lucas, just be happy for Ijekiel. He found himself a girlfriend. Why, are you even upset?" She looks absolutely done with his bullshit
.
"That's my baby sister!" Lucas glares at Ijekiels hands around Keiras waist. "Get your hands off her! Don't kiss her!"
Keira rolls her eyes. "Shut up. I'm not a baby."
"You have a sister?" Athanasia sounds surprised. "You said you were an only child! You liar!"
Keira hums. "Yeah, that's my brother in a nutshell." Then, after a moment, she adds. "Both brothers."
Athanasia's eyes widen. "Both brothers? There's more than one?" The blonds head shoots around to her boyfriend. "How many siblings do you have?" She asks loudly.
Lucas groans. "Three. Benjamin, Leilin, and, well, Keira," He admits and then pauses. "Also, my parents are alive. I lied about that, too."
Then a grin shows up on her face. "Unless of course-"
Keira looks at him, surprised. "You said they were dead? Does Mother know? Does Father know?" Her hand goes up to her head. "They'll kill you." She grins. "Oh my, they're going to be furious."
"Don't," threatens Lucas. "Don't you dare try to blackmail me."
Keira rolls her eyes. "I would never dare to attempt to do that, my dear brother," She claims.
"Hold up," interrupts Athanasia. "I think we've glossed over the fact that you lied to me way too fast."
The blond looks at her boyfriend. Anger in her jewel eyes.
Lucas sighs. His head is turned downward, and he looks a bit like a sad puppy. Keira doesn't know how to react to that. She's never seen her brother like that.
"I'm sorry, princess," he says. "I have no excuse for that. I wanted to tell you, I just wasn't sure how."
Keira looks from the fighting couple to her now boyfriend? Is that what he is?
"Ijekiel." She grabs his arm. "Let's leave them alone. I'm feeling better now, how about we dance some more?"
Ijekiel turns his gaze downwards and towards the purple eyed girl. A small smile on his lips. "Yes, let's dance some more."

Grey Like Silver, Red Like Rubies
Marcia is nervous. Very nervous.
Today is the day. She'll meet her fiancée for the first time. A prince, the oldest prince. Izeck is his name.
The little blond girl plays with the fabric of her skirt. "Marcia." The strict voice of her mother warns. The little girl looks up and lets go of the dress.
Right, she has to look perfect. She's going to be a princess, after all. Even empress later in life.
Her gaze wanders outside of the carriage. She looks at trees and villages as her mind wanders.
Different scenarios are playing in her head. Officially, she's supposed to meet Princess Ellen - her fiancées twin sister. Unofficially, it's the first meet-up between her and her fiancée.
Marcia thinks it's kind of weird. Why are kids getting engaged? What does it even mean to be engaged. She would ask her mother, but she's been very stressed lately.
A big white castle on top of a hill catches her attention. It's gigantic. Marcia's green eyes sparkle. Is that where she's going to live?
Once Marcia is outside of the carriage, she smiles. She has the urge to run around the big wide garden, her mother would kill her if she did that though.
"Marcia." Her mother's strict voice once again catches her attention. "We are supposed to follow after the servant." The woman looks at the man in front of her.
Marcia quickly walks to her mother. She's careful to look really lady-like while she does that. Just like her mother thought her.
The garden is even prettier. A bunch of gorgeous flowers everywhere. Marcia eyes sparkle as she looks around.
Her mother's voice catches her attention once again. "Greetings to the moon of the empire." She says as she bows. Marcia looks at the woman.
Long silky looking red hair, brilliant blue eyes, sharp facial features, and a slight smile. A gorgeous woman is standing in front of her.
Marcia is frozen in place as she stares. She doesn't even hear her mother sigh. "I apologise, your majesty, I suppose you know how children can be."
The red haired woman chuckles and raises her head in a dismissive move. "It's alright." She pauses. "The lady is nine years old correct?"
Marcia's mother shakes her head. "Eight. Marcia will be nine this summer, your majesty."
"Ah. I apologise." Says the woman. "Eight." She mumbles and covers her mouth. She looks at Marcia for a moment. Then she looks at a black haired maid. "Call Ellen and Izeck." She says. "Livia too." Adds the empress.
She looks from the servant back to Marcia. The little girl quickly fixes her posture. "Ellen and Izeck are both ten." Says the lady. "I thought it might be nice if you had another kid your age with you. Livia is a few months younger than you, so please look after her for me, alright?"
Marcia nods eagerly. Her mother clears her throat. "Yes, your majesty." Says Marcia quickly. The red-haired woman chuckles again. "No need to be so stiff. I'll be your mother-in-law in the near future, after all. Just call me mother..." She glances at Marcia's mother. "...or mother-in-law."
Marcia nods once again. This time she corrects herself all on her own. "Yes, mother-in-law." She says quickly.
The woman chuckles and turns back to Marcia's mother. Then she glances to Marcia and from her to a ginger maid. "Lead the lady to the green house. I find it hard to believe Livia would want to be outside in this hot weather."
"Yes, your majesty." Says the maid servant and turns towards Marcia. "Please follow me, my lady."
The garden is gigantic. A part of Marcia already knew that, the other is surprised at just how big.
The servant leads Marcia until they reach a big building made entirely out of glass. For some reason, you can't look inside, though.
Marcia steps inside with small steps. She walks as careful and delicate as possible. All the hours of etiquette lesson have to have some purpose after all.
The glass building is see-through from the inside. It's full of gorgeous flowers that look more expensive than she wants to even imagine. It's a comfortable temperature inside. It's not as hot as it is outside. It's almost cold.
Her attention is caught by a table sitting in the middle of the building. Three children are already sitting there. Two girls and one boy.
The blond girl immediately knows who they are. Her eyes catch rubine red ones. A girl with sliver hair looks at her. She looks proper. She's obviously from high high society.
On her right sits another girl. She has the same red hair as the empress, but instead of the blue eyes, she has red ones. She has her mothers features, though. Strict but soft at the same time. It's hidden behind a bit of baby-fat.
Across from the red-haired girl (Livia, guesses Marcia) sits a boy with silver hair. He and the first girl look like carbon copies of each other... Well, if you ignore that one of them is obviously a girl.
"Ah..!" Marcia bows quickly. "Greetings, my name is Marcia-" She's rudly interrupted by a chair being pulled forward. At some point, the sliver haired boy stood up and pulled the chair out for her. "We know who you are." He says simply.
Marcia wants to curse at him. How dare he interrupt her? She practiced that greeting so hard. "Thank you." She mumbles and bows and sits down. Izeck pushes the chair back and then sits down.
The girl to Marcias left looks at her with curious eyes. "So you'll marry my brother?" She asks and tilts her head.
Marcia nods. "Yes, as far as I'm aware."
"Livia, by the way." Says the red-haired girl. The girl across from Marcias clears her throat. Red-head - Livia - rolls her eyes. "It's nice to meet you, lady Marcia. My name is Livia."
"My name is Ellen." Says the silver haired girl. She gives her brother a look. He sighs but then looks at Marcia. "Izeck." He says simply.
Ellen sighs, displeasure is written all over her face. "I apologise. It seems neither of my siblings have had proper etiquette lessons."
Marcias giggles. "It's alright, Your Highness." She says. Ellen shakes her head. "Just Ellen is enough."
Livia keeps looking Marcia. A part of her worries if she's doing something wrong at the intense look. "No, that won't do." Says Livia and shakes her head. "You can't marry my brother."
Marcia freezes. Oh no, did she do something wrong? Did she already make one of her future sisters in law hate her?
"Livia." Says Ellen in a strict tone. "Don't even think about it."
Livia pouts. "But sister! Lady Marcia is so cute, and brother is... Well, he's Izeck." Livia says his name like it's an insult. Ellen just shakes her head.
Oh, it's just sibling bickering. It had nothing to do with Marcia.
She glances over at Izeck. He's just looking bored. Wow, he really doesn't want to be here, hm?
She understands that. She, too, would rather be home than here. Still, she has to suffer through it.
Her eyes wander to her soon to be husband. He is pretty. She doesn't think she's ever seen a prettier ten year old. He has silver hair and red eyes. His eyes look like expensive stones. She finds it hard to believe they even are actual eyes and not gem stones.
His eyes are even brighter than Ellen's. Truly, Izeck is a gorgeous boy.
Marcia almost feels ugly compared to them.
Almost.
The tea party was boring for the most part. She talked more to Ellen and Livia than the boy she was supposed to talk to.
As Marcia is brought back to her mother, she thinks that she would rather marry Livia or Ellen than Izeck. He's too quiet and boring.
"Ah, it seems your daughter is back duchess." Says the empress. A smile is still plastered onto her face. It's still formal.
Marcias mother nods. "Yes, indeed. I suppose it's time to go back now, isn't it Marcia?"
The blond girl nods. "Yes, mother."
Well, this won't work, thinks Marcia on the drive back home.
-
Four months pass before Marcis meets him again. It's a hunting competition, together with the imperial family of the Obelian Empire.
Marcia has spent a few summers in the empire. Her aunt comes from here after all.
It's snowing, which is rare. Marcia wanders off, not caring about the now dead animals or the killing of them. She much rather spend her time playing with the snow. So she does.
Once she's done with her snowman, she smiles. "Perfect!"
She hears a sound and turns around to look at the person behind her. Izeck stands there. His cheeks are slightly red, but that is probably because of the cold.
"Your highness!" She squeaks and bows. Izeck shakes his hand in dismissal. "No need to be so formal."
"Right... I apologise." Says Marcia.
Izeck looks at her, and Marcia looks at him. He looks pretty, and the snow fits his hair. He looks like he was meant to leave somewhere where it snows a lot.
They should move somewhere where it snows a lot, Marcia decides. Yeah, as soon as they are married, she'll make sure of that.
Izeck clears his throat. "You look very pretty today."
Marcia blushes. "You think so?" She asks. "Really?"
She receives a lot of compliments, so this isn't new. Still, he surprises her. She wasn't expecting a compliment from him.
"Did Ellen tell you to compliment me?" She asks. "Or your mother?"
The boy sighs and nods. "Yeah, my mother said I should compliment you when I see you next... Ellen did, too."
The blond girl chuckles. "I see, I expected as much." I zeck shakes his head. "But you do look pretty. The dress is... nice?"
Marcia rolls her eyes. Wow, he really knows how to do that.
"Thank you, your highness... Er, no, Izeck." Marcisa gives him a small smile. Izeck hums.
"You're making a snowman..." He says and then pauses for a moment. "Can I maybe help you?"
Marcias look from the snowman to him. It's already done, but Izeck seems to want to build some sort of relationship... Mh...
"Well, this one is already done, but we can always make him a friend, can't we?" She suggests and steps closer to Izeck. She grabs his wrist and smiles at him.
"Yeah... sure..." He says. Marcia smiles and pulls him him towards the snowman.
Maybe this is going to work after all, thinks Marcia as she watches Izeck build the snowman.

Lovely Time With Two Lovebirds
Siegren is tired, today was hard and now all he wants is to get back to his wife, but it seems as like everyone wants to keep him here.
"Sir I think you can go home now." One of the others knights says. Siegren nods and feels relived, he'll finally go home to his wife. "Oh wait, Sir it seems you have a different visitor."
Siegren groans. "Really?" He can't hide that he's annoyed. The door opens and a familiar face enters the room. "I come to check on my husband, but it seems he doesn't wish to see me." Penelope jokes.
Siegren gets up and wraps his wife into a hug. "I've missed you so much." Penelope hums. "I expected you to miss me, that's why I came here." She wraps her arms around his neck.
"Uhh... I'll- I'll leave." The knight say's, Siegren nods and the knight leaves.
"I've missed you Penny, so much." He whispers. "We saw each other this morning, stop acting like it's been a hundred years." The woman says and shakes her head.
Siegren shakes his head too, and looks at her with a serious look. "It must be an eternity since I last saw you." Penelope chuckles at his words. "Yes, yes of course."
Siegren leans down and kisses Penelope. He hums into the kiss. "Mh, I've missed you so much. How are you?" He asks.
Penelope smiles and tells him all about her day. Siegren listens as like it's the most interesting think he ever heard. It makes her feel warm inside to see how interested he is.
How is it that even after ten years of dating (two years of being married) he still looks at her like she's the most precious thing. Penelope hopes that he never stops looking at her like that.
"We should head back." Penelope smiles mischievously. "I got something planned for the two of us." Siegren blushes furiously.
Penelope sighs. "Not that kind of thing." She says and rolls her eyes. She puts his hand into hers. "Let's go now."
Sirgren nods and follows after his wife like a puppy. Penelope can't help but smile. Marrying Siegren definitely was her smartest decision.
"Lili wants to come visit for the spring holidays. She'll spend half of the break with us and the other by Reynold." Informs Penelope.
A big smile appears on her husbands face. "Really? My favourite sister in law is coming to visit?" Somehow, the smile on his face grows even bigger.
"Don't tell Charlize I said that..." He says quickly, and his fixes posture. "...or my brother for that matter."
Penelope rolls her eyes once again. "I wasn't planning on." She takes another step towards her husband. She puts her hands on his shoulders. "It would be truly terrible if my husband were to die simply because he said my little sister was his favourite sister in law." Penelope kisses his cheek.
Siegrens arm fonds it waist around her waist. He pulls her closer to him. "It would, after all, how am I supposed to kiss my wife if I'm dead?"
The violet haired girl chuckles. "It would truly be terrible." She says again. Penelope steps onto her tiptoes and kisses her husband. "I love you." She tells him. "A lot."
Siegren smiles. "Me too, I love you too."

Feeling Guilty Without A Reason
It's Friday, and frankly, Felix wants to disappear.
Not only did he have an argument with Eruidan, but he was also forbidden from meeting Juvelian. Also, Irene has been avoiding him for no reason at all. Claudia also seems to be mad at him.
Really, Felix has no idea what's going on.
He leans against the tree in front of the magic departments' training field. He does know why Erudian is upset. He believes his sister is too young for a boyfriend.
Felix thinks it's bullshit. No, actually, he knows that it is.
It's not like Juvelian is a little girl who has no mind of her own. She's fourteen, for gods sake.
He understands that Erudian wants to protect his sister. He wants that, too, after all. He wants Claudia happy. Still, he wouldn't intervene in her relationship.
Well, maybe if her partner was a dick. Still, Felix isn't a dick. No, he's Erudians best friend, so why is it that Erudian doesn't trust him?
Felix sighs again.
"What has gotten you all upset?" A voice asks from behind him. He turns around and meets blue eyes. They are darker than his, calmer too.
"Your boyfriend is being a moron," says Felix to the red-haired girl. Elvia hums and sits down next to Eruidan on the ground.
"He's not my boyfriend," corrects Elvia
The white-haired boy shrugs. "Yeah, sure." He says and sighs. His eyes still focused on her. Her features are softer than usual. Her eyes look lighter than usual in the light... maybe she received good news?
Elvia suddenly shakes her head. She does that sometimes, shaking her head without any reason. Erudian calls it cute.
Felix agrees.
"I heard you've had an argument with Lord Erudian," says Elvia. Right, why else would Elvia talk to him if not about her (not) boyfriend.
Felix nods and tilts his head to the side. "We did."
Elvia nods. The silence between them grows awkward. "Was it very serious?" She asks.
Once again, Felix nods. "I suppose it was. He said he didn't want to see me for the time being." He sighs. He's been doing that a lot lately. "I guess I shouldn't have kissed Juvelian. I know how he feels about our relationship."
Elvias eyes widen, but she fixes her expression of surprise quickly. "You kissed her?" She asks and clears her throat. "Personally, I think Erudian is acting like a child. Juvelian isn't a little girl... you didn't force yourself on her, did you?"
"No! Of course not!" He looks at Elvia with disgust. "I would never! I wasn't even planning on kissing her. She's the one that asked me to do it."
Elvia looks at him. "That's true." She says. "Well, I don't know if she's the one that asked you to it, but I know that you would ever force yourself on her. Or anyone for that matter." She says and gives him a reassuring smile.
She places her hand over his. It feels too intimate. It seems Elvia realised that to, judging by how quickly she pulled her hand away.
The white-haired man sighs again. He rubs his hand through his hair. "Seriously. I've never been upset with Eruidan before. Not before now." He sighs for what might be the thousandth time.
Felix looks back at Elvia. The smile on her (a thing he doesn't think he's ever seen directed at him) face looks pretty. Frankly, Elvia looks pretty. Gorgeous even. He has known that for a while now.
"I didn't come here to talk about that." Elvia says and breaks the silence. Right, there is no way Elvia would just talk to him for now reason. "Why is your sister upset with you?"
"I don't know..." Felix pauses. "It has something to do with Irene, I suppose. She's been avoiding me for a few days ago. Actually, she's been avoiding me since the tournament."
He looks at Elvia, and he knows that she knows something.
"She's been avoiding since you've kissed Juvelian..?" She asks. Felix feels like there is something he should've checked by now.
"Well, I don't think the kiss had anything to do with it," replies Felix.
The redhead sighs and shakes her head. "Felix, do you really have no idea why she's avoiding you?" The white-haired boy shakes his head. "No, I didn't do anything to her."
"That's the point, Felix." She says. "Felix, Irene is... has been in love with you for years."
Wide bright blue eyes meet darker blue eyes. Felix feels like the world is spinning.
Now that he knows that a lot of things feel different. Oh Christ, she's has been dropping hints all along.
"I-I wasn't aware. Oh god." He feels terrible. He broke his best friends heart. He shouldn't have done. He should've noticed. "I think I'm going to be sick."
Elvia rolls her eyes. "Don't be dramatic... Just..." she sighs, "I'm not sure what you should do now."
Felix laughs out loud suddenly. "I don't know either. I suppose I'll have to wait until Irene isn't all that heartbroken anymore... That's sounds mean. I mean that I'll wait until she talks to me again." He says.
The red-haired girl hums. "I see."
Her gaze wanders from Felix to the training flied in front of them. A huff leaves her. "I'll try to talk Erudian out of it." She says. "I can't let him intervene with your relationship."
The younger man looks back at her. Elvia would do that for him?
Sometimes, Felix questions if they really are friends. Sometimes Elvia is kind, she helps him and is nice to him. Then, on the next moment, she curses at him and hits him.
It confuses the shit out of him. It's like Elvia herself isn't sure what she feels about him.
The most confusing thing, though, is the way she looks at him. Sometimes, she looks at him like he means something to her. Even when she's angry at him, she looks at him like he is something.
"Thank you." He says to her. "I'm sure Erudian will listen to you." He tells her.
Elvia rolls her eyes. "No need to thank me. You'll stop bothering me and Erudian when you have a girlfriend... and Juvelian is good for you."
Felix smiles.
