does cody actually dislike anakin or is that a fanon thing?

i don't remember them interacting much in the show, and i never got the sense that cody particularly liked or disliked anakin, merely that anakin is a dude sometimes adjacent to obi-wan for inscrutable reasons. it's not beyond the pale that cody doesn't like anakin, because anakin doesn't really make it a point to be likeable, really. i did entertain the thought once that anakin might have had cody's position as commander of the 212th earlier in the war while he was still a padawan while cody was the captain, and cody liked the guy well enough, but - for clones, the distinction between clones is haircut, fashion choices, tattoos, you know?

so anakin gets knighted and then reassigned to the 501st, and obi-wan is so miserable about it cody straight up thinks anakin died. he thinks that dude is completely dead, because that's why obi-wan's misery is so profound, and when obi-wan's like "i have to skip out on this meeting early, i have to comm anakin" cody assumes that obi-wan just, like, talks to a hanged picture of his Dearly Beloved Associate Because No One Told Cody The Situation Between Obi-Wan And Anakin. cody is naturally concerned. but clones recognize other clones based on things like dress, hair cut, tattoo, so when anakin comes back from bumfuck nowhere to work with the 212th, cody does not recognize him for a full three hours of battle where exclusively calls anakin "general jedi" until obi-wan shows up and is objectively a lot less miserable-looking. cody will tell no one this happened. but no i think cody's feelings on anakin are "associate of my friends" in that no one ever thinks to fill cody in on how anakin fits into everything, so cody just goes for the safe assumption that is associate.
