hey! i know this is more of an edits blog but i have a question (feel free to delete if you dont want to answer/bc its not a request) i recenty got diagnosed for having a dissociative disorder (not DID but on a similar spectrum ((? im not sure if thats the right word to use here)) ) and im wondering if it would be appropriate to use the word 'fictive' for when i have an out of body experience and believe im a fictional character? thank you if you end up answering!

hey hey! i can actually answer this straight away its pretty in the realm of normality

im not like an expert but it sounds like delusion might be a better term for that? a fictive is a headmate in a plural system (such as DID/OSDD like us) who is a fictional introject of a character from a media. i always describe it as like "im some guy i just also happen to literally be m. townsend from bl/seball fame they put me in here as a vacation or something" if that makes sense?

so if youre like 100% sure its still You in there in a sense it does sound more along the lines of delusions (which we also have frequently) and/or facets (might want to look into median systems for their terminology; we dont know much about them nowadays so thats about where my helpfulness ends) rather than fictives!

note: this is mostly based on the fact that i dont think any of us in the system making up 'Lucky' would describe each other like that including our original so it doesnt really feel appropriate to us personally; your wording reminds me pretty heavily of how we describe our delusions from psychosis though

i hope this helps sorry it got kind of long! id also absolutely recommend looking for resources with your specific diagnosis and seeing if you can find other folks who might have more specialized insight :j

phew holy shit happy new years! that was the entire queue, which i didnt expect to back up so much but thats what happens between work/depression flaring up/your headmates completely forgetting about stuff to do with the craft,
