“They’re waiting for you….It’s time to go home.” 

I drew this sketch aaaaages ago and this prompt made me actually want to fix it up! I was actually going to use this for a different comic idea but whatev.

 So, I was imagining after the whole ending thing in the game Ardyn finds himself in kind of limbo (the flower field Luna and Noct said goodbye in) not knowing where to go and feeling like he doesn’t really deserve to go anywhere, and Luna shows up telling him it’s okay and to let go. (No, I’m not crying) I need Ardyn finding redemption and happiness dammit >:C 

Note to self, to save on tears and pain, do not listen to Celine Dion while drawing Luna and Ardyn.

“It must be unbearable, Lady Lunafreya,” he purrs in a voice getting deep under her skin. “Spending your life in blind devotion, chained to so many things. But you were never told that seeking others’ redemption, you may one day find yourself deep in the darkness.”

For thousands of years, Ardyn’s body has been almost numb due to the Starscourge. However, it seems that Lunafreya’s healing touch can reawaken sensations he barely remembers—one of many things about her that he finds intriguing. Unfortunately, of all the effects she has had on him throughout the time they have been acquainted, inspiring mercy is not one of them. Now that the Hydraean’s awakening is imminent, Ardyn’s course is clearer than ever, and he doesn’t make a habit of harboring regrets.

Written for @lunardynweek: Day Six (“Salvation/Redemption”). A bit of a companion piece to my Day Two fic, “Memento Mori”, but not to the extent that it’s necessary to read that one first. ~2500 words. Drama with a side of Angst. Rated T for generally dark themes. Spoilers abound.

Lunardyn Week; Day V: sᴇᴄʀᴇᴛ ʀᴇʟᴀᴛɪᴏɴsʜɪᴘ

<…> Lunafreya flinches as Ardyn touches her fingers, but is not surprised. She’s cold, numb, and his lips are so warm and welcoming — just as always, she notes — that Luna simply cannot resist as he kisses her hand.

It’s a just a kiss — a fleeting warm touch of his lips, not going far beyond the limits of decency— and Luna is taken in by its fake gentle purity, hesitates, softens only to find herself trapped in his fingers.

Ardyn tugs at Lunafreya’s glove, willingly placing a playful kiss on her tender skin, purposely slow, tasting and savoring. He barely bares her wrist, yet Luna feels completely naked before her guests.

Ardyn’s just playing pretend. He always did. 

He did it while pressing his unchaste, unhurried kisses far beyond the boundaries of Luna’s chastity, teasing and testing her.

He did it while unfolding a fancy soirée napkin on her knees — so fragile and trembling, so sensitive to his touches. 

He did it while pulling her silk stocking up high as his fingers ran higher, ascertaining if Luna’s lingerie was made of silk as well.

That’s how he learned that Lunafreya herself was made of silk.

“The role of femme fatale does not suit you, my dear,“ said Ardyn, caressing Lunafreya’s cheek with the back of his hand. “I much preferred you as ingénue.” Yet still he permitted her to lean down and kiss him.

As it turns out, seducing the chancellor of Niflheim is more easily said than done… but, given that her fiancé’s safety may hang in the balance, Lunafreya is determined. And Ardyn can’t be totally against the idea, or he wouldn’t have taken her out to the opera. Or listened when she asked him to pull into a lovers’ lane instead of driving her to safety. Or taught her how a simple kiss could be so—wait, who exactly is doing the seducing here?

Written for @lunardynweek​: Day Five (“Secret Relationship”). Decidedly independent from all my other Lunardyn stories, with the least basis in canon out of them all, but I tried to make it as compliant as possible anyway*. ~6200 words. The closest I can get to categorizing this is Romance with elements of Humor and Drama, but “romance” still isn’t quite the word I would use. This also doesn’t qualify as smut, but… rated M for general raunchiness. Contains some spoilers re: the Oracle’s fate, but doesn’t address any major plot points.
