A great day trip 90 minutes north of LA is Charlie Brown Farms in Littlerock. It’s an utter labyrinth of souvenirs kitsch, old timey toys, chocolate covered everything, craft honeys and sauces, long forgotten candies, fresh donuts and BBQ, western wear, goofy nonsense and a bunch of dilapidated dinosaur parks sculptures for good measure. Just released with little to no fanfare from Vinegar Syndrome, this disc of El Santo’s only film shot in Spain is just superb. With plenty of Eurotrash familiars in the cast, batshit mad science, higher production values than usual and arguably the single finest piece of music in the entire luchahero genre, it’s also a must-see for being widescreen for the first time ever.
