Let’s talk about Kyo and Momiji for a sec

I cannot stop thinking about that scene where Momiji comes into Kyo’s room, at first glance, to tell him to come for dinner, but really to have a deeper conversation than that.

To someone who doesn’t know Momiji, this scene would appear like Momiji was only taunting Kyo a bit with the way he was talking about Tohru. Here, Momiji says that Kyo had better man up and do something quick, or he could end up in a future where he loses Tohru to Momiji.

But let’s think about this statement for a sec.

Momiji does love Tohru. I will not discount that. He has crushed on her for awhile, but he’s well aware that they won’t be a thing, though it could very possibly happen if Kyo became confined, Momiji isn’t saying this for his own benefit.

If he was, it would mean he was also competing for her in a way. It would mean his love for her ran deeper than his cares about Kyo.

But I believe Momiji never truly viewed Kyo as the gift of a monster to hate as the rest of the Zodiac saw him, no matter what his instincts told him. I believe that Momiji loves Kyo more than any other Zodiac member does. Kyo is the sibling he always wanted. Someone who interacted with him instead of neglecting him. Someone he could bicker with, someone who was there, and that was enough.

Momiji doesn’t say these things because of his love for Tohru. He says them because of his love for Kyo, which runs even deeper. If he doesn’t warn Kyo of the future they might encounter, Momiji knows Kyo might give up. And that future wouldn’t only be awful for Tohru, it would be devastating for Kyo, and Momiji can’t have that either. He isn’t teasing him here, nor warning him of what he wants to happen—No, Momiji is desperately trying to bring Kyo out of his despair to get him to ACT. To try and spur him to do whatever it takes to break the curse, to get out of confinement, even if it comes as the cost of a future with one thing that Momiji might want.

And that’s truly what love is. Something self-sacrificing.

Hello, and I’m sorry. I’ve never done anything like this before, and I hope I never have to again. I don’t enjoy having to ask for help. But this isn’t for my own sake- it’s for my mother’s and my two young half siblings.

After months of seeking for answers, being misdiagnosed and dismissed by doctors and just being mistreated by medical staff, my mother has finally recieved a proper diagnosis. Stage 4 lung cancer.

It began with a back ache months ago. She went to the doctors and got multiple scans done- they found tumors. She was told they were likely cancerous. They performed a biopsy, and it came back negative. We were hopeful then that it wasn’t cancer, but then she got pneumonia and a lung infection, sending her again to the hospital. It was that time where she had another biopsy performed, and the official diagnoses came in. It was cancer, and it was already at stage 4. It took around 5 months for this diagnosis, and in that time her condition progressed further.

It is at this point according to doctors, incurable. However, our hope is that she can fight it long enough to be there for her youngest children, 1 and 2 years old respectively. We hope that she can overcome the odds and stick around for a few more years, so that they can remember her. Either way, we’d like to keep her comfortable for however long she continues to be with us.

Kyo is a mf nerd okay? Like this dude will dedicate HOURS to study and do homework, he trains his mind as diligently as he does his body. He probably even color codes his notes after class when he settles down for some serious study time after dinner.

Yuki is the student counsel president that smokes weed behind the dumpsters between classes and has perfected the art of sleeping with his eyes open. He hasnt taken a single note down in class his entire life and only passes his tests by speed reading the text books 5 min before class. He crams food into his mouth when no one is looking and even has a secret stash of junk food that he eats in the bathroom stalls.

My sister convinced me to go digging in my old sketchbooks for something to redraw, so I turned up an old Fruits Basket fanart I drew when I was fifteen. (Literally half a life ago!)

My aim was both to show I’m at least a little bit more proficient with anatomy, and also that I can actually reference historical costume, haha. (Though to be fair to lil baby Zee, I did draw the original while riding the subway with no references handy.)
