i have so many thoughts about the confusion between booth’s final cries for davis & david especially as it relates to the conspiracy as a whole and davis’s actual historical lack of involvement in the plot and the assumptions that we as viewers are supposed to take away from a show about obsession and justice

#i think there is sooo much interesting commentary to be made there #and i think it’s really interesting to consider the historical inaccuracies as they relate to stanton’s perspective of the conspiracy #idk i gotta finish manhunt (the book) before i say anything conclusive #but i think examining the show and its telling of the story as a byproduct of stanton’s own beliefs is a really interesting angle #that i haven’t seen tackled yet #manhunt

the framing, when booth is getting treated by the garrett daughter, and she’s standing there with her tits out saying all of the beautiful things that davey’s already said to him (“you’re a hero. a symbol of the cause.”) and davey’s directly behind her, in the background, blurred, and we get to watch him slowly realize that no matter what level of allegiance he’s shown to johnny, even the unwavering, life-threatening support won’t ever be enough to get booth to acknowledge him like this. swayed so easily by the woman who knew the easy thing to say, but still gives nothing to the man who has risked it all to fumble at his side and end up exactly as unimportant as he feared he would.
