hello! i bring an odd offering today.

i really didn't expect *this* to be my 2nd published mod, esp. since i'm working on a few things that're basically done.

But, without further ado…

…the SIM BLENDER for PET STORIES!

yep, that's the very popular "Sim Blender" ✨remodeled✨ so it'll show up in The Sims Pet Stories! (the ficus isn't in that game lol)

Install: just like any other mod, the location should look something like...

"…Documents\Electronic Arts\The Sims Pet Stories\Downloads"

i did nothing else to it, btw, just changed the model list to stuff that'll show up in PS, using this great tutorial by @sunradersimblr <3 https://modthesims.info/showthread.php?t=613468

my testing went this far: i can open the game with it in my downloads, open a lot, place it, interact with it, and play for a few minutes without jump bugs or crashing* ...and beyond that we'll just have to find out together.

*WHICH IS MORE THAN CAN BE SAID FOR MOST HACKS AND MODS RE: STORIES GAMES! 😂 (if you put in something really incompatible it'll often just be on an infinite loading loop before crashing).

Compatibility: SimBlender usually requires Pets or above (iirc?), and this one uses 2 models from Pets-EP/Pet-Stories. No other special compatibility information is known. 🤷‍♀️

so, i guess, there's no reason you can't use this version instead of the usual one** in the full game (ts2) as long as you have the pets expansion pack (as the potted-posies and potted-rose models are from there).

**but, truth be told, if you're adventurous and want different models on your simblender you might just follow the tutorial linked above and make your own custom version!

the usa is leaving me to die slowly and painfully because i am poor please god rb this dont just like and scroll

i'm on a medication that is barely helping and i'm still having seizures almost every other day. finally had a grand mal the other day and i'm still hurting from it.

i don't have health insurance but i have to see a neurologist otherwise my condition is going to continue to deteriorate until it kills me if nothing is done

Ok well then maybe y’all shouldn’t have spent the past couple of years complaining about Likes, about how they do nothing, about how insulting it is to get a like instead of a reblog!

Yes, reblogs ARE the lifeblood of the site and they ARE the only way to ensure posts reach new audiences since most users never look at the For You tab or “based on your likes” or whatever.

HOWEVER. You were never going to get anyone to reblog every single post that they like or enjoy or smile at. Maybe they just reblogged something similar. Maybe they’ve seen it on their dash five times today and don’t feel like cluttering up their followers’ dashes with it. Maybe they like it but don’t think most of their followers would be interested. Maybe they just don’t feel the need to display every post that ever made them smile on their own blog.

But now people feel awkward or guilty about liking a post without reblogging it. Now sure, some of the time that will lead to them reblogging something they originally weren’t going to, but most of the time it just means they’re not going to interact with the post at all, because they think liking it will just piss off the OP.

So don’t complain about people using the like button as a more passive way to interact and show appreciation, then turn around and say we don’t need a boop button to do that because we already have a like button.

STANDING BACKSTAGE AT THE BEACON Theatre in New York, leaning against a crumbling brick wall in the dark, I could barely see Kris Kristofferson standing to my left. Willie Nelson was in the shadows to my right. Ray Charles was standing beside Willie, idly shifting his weight back and forth. A bit farther along the wall were Elvis Costello, Wyclef Jean, Norah Jones, Shelby Lynne, Paul Simon and respective managers, friends and family. Everybody was nervous and tight. We were there for Willie Nelson’s 70th birthday concert in 2003.

Up from the basement came one of country music’s brightest stars (who shall remain nameless). At that moment in time, the Star had a monster radio hit about bombing America’s enemies back into the Stone Age.

“Happy birthday,” the Star said to Willie, breezing by us. As he passed Kristofferson in one long, confident stride, out of the corner of his mouth came “None of that lefty shit out there tonight, Kris.”

“What the luck did you just say to me?” Kris growled, stepping forward.

“Oh, no,” groaned Willie under his breath. “Don’t get Kris all riled up.”

“You heard me,” the Star said, walking away in the darkness.

“Don’t turn your back to me, boy,” Kristofferson shouted, not giving a shit that basically the entire music industry seemed to be flanking him.

The Star turned around: “I don’t want any problems, Kris – I just want you to tone it down.”

“You ever worn your country’s uniform?” Kris asked rhetorically.

“What?”

“Don’t ‘What?’ me, boy! You heard the question. You just don’t like the answer.” He paused just long enough to get a full chest of air. “I asked, ‘Have you ever served your country?’ The answer is, no, you have not. Have you ever killed another man? Huh? Have you ever taken another man’s life and then cashed the check your country gave you for doing it? No, you have not. So shut the fuck up!” I could feel his body pulsing with anger next to me. “You don’t know what the hell you are talking about!”

“Whatever,” the young Star muttered.

Ray Charles stood motionless. Willie Nelson looked at me and shrugged mischievously like a kid in the back of the classroom.

Kristofferson took a deep inhale and leaned against the wall, still vibrating with adrenaline. He looked over at Willie as if to say, “Don’t say a word.” Then his eyes found me.

“You know what Waylon Jennings said about guys like him?” he whispered.

I shook my head.

“‘They’re doin’ to country music what pantyhose did to finger-fuckin’.”
