Descendants of the Sun

By Shiela Mae Penino Descendants of the sun is a love story between Captain Too Shi Jin, Korean special forces , doctor Kang Mo yeon a surgeon at haesung hospital. This is a 2016 South Korean movies series starring song Joong Ki and song Hye kyo , Jin goo and Kim ji won. I choose this Korean series because I love this movie and I can relate to the story of the 4 person and I can say that this movie series is quite awesome and it was in a generation and interesting because loves conquer all. It is because as one of the viewers I find this movie interesting because of how they fight evryhting and conquer all because they almost facing death but because of their love to each other the obstacles that they were facing they succeed to that. And I can prove to you that it was . And I salute Captain Too Shi Jhin because he loves his country and he can do anything just to protect him and I can say also that the way he helps his country the way they get happiness because of they believe that helping his country is like helping yourself to develop from hindrances . That's why I salute him and he also undergo more obstacles to his relationship with Doctor Kang Mo Yeon but because of their strong relationship they conquer it and they made it to the last. To the point that in reality those happening to them was not easy still they succeed to it. At first Doctor Kang Mo Yeon a surgeon finds Captain yoo Shi Jin annoying but day passed she find out that he has a big heart that serves the country no matter what. And he can also offer his life to his country just to protect them and that's why he finds Captain Yoo Shi Jin unique , strong and interesting. And he started to like him. And when their relationship was on a way they face more challenges but because of the relationship of the two was strong they find a way. This story was my favourite one because of I can relate plus the actors and actresses was pretty and handsome and more values that we can mold us.

Midnight Runners

By Sophia Loren Ricafort    The Midnight Runners is a Korean movie that has two chracters. This two main character are the student who enter the university. This university is the school that accepts a students who are willing to be a police man someday. Many of them enter the school because this school is free and no expenses that the students will pay. At the first day of the class, they introduce themselves and the professor discuss what are the rules and regulations of the school. In the second day of the class, their professor train them and many activies they do outside the class. One day, the students and the trainors are go outside to jog and run along the forest and outside the forest and go back to the field. First, they warm up and after that, the chief of police pulls the trigger of the gun as the go signal of the running. As the time passed by, the students run through the forest, the forest is full of trees that has a big roots that passed by the ground. The man accidentally disjointed his left foot, the student didn't notice him and the others they don't wan't him to help. But when the other man passed him, he help him to stand him and carry him even if the time is over but he help him and then they came in but the lady who has a high position give the other student a punishment of because they didn't help him.   After that incident, they request to the head of all the chief of police for one day leave and they the campus because they have a deal that he will treat him a sausage and a bottle of soju. They went to the bar to find a girl but suddenly they didn't find a girl and after some hours they decided to go out to the bar and find a little resto bar to drink. Then they decided to go to university because its too dark and they seem that their professor is looking for them. When they will go outside the resto bar they saw a lady and they find that the lady is cute , they follow the lady until when the one vehicle follow the lady and they notice the incident that the man hit the head of the   lady and put it inside the van. And the van go. They run and follow the van but they did not reach out but his friend memorized the plate number of the vehicle. After that incident of what they see, the two man plan to find the woman and to save the other innocent girls in those syndicate. They discovered that the innocent girls got their egg sells and sell it to the parents who don't have a chance to be pregnant. They do their best just to save the innocent girls because they pity them. They want to use their learnings and plan to investigate and they report it to the police but the police didn't move so they decide that they will help those girls.   After of what happen, the two students save the innocent girls. Their classmates are very pfoud of them even if they are not police but they believe that they will save them to the syndicate. Years passed, the two of them became a police man who have a higher position.

The 3 Idiots

By Rachel Garnel “ If you want to achieve something, then pursue it and don’t let others go your way “ This was the lesson that I got from the movie entitled The 3 Idiots, this movie is so inspiring because they share different stones and they also share the same meaning and inspiration not only for themselves but also among others. This is a movie about following your heart and not letting others dictate your story because if we let them do that, we cannot enjoy the true pleasure of life. The three main characters didn’t let someone choose what life will be fitted on them. The first character is not that smart but he wants to be an engineer and also because of poverty,  he thought he couldn’t make it but he chose to keep his pride rather than changing himself; the second character really don’t want to be an engineer but because of his father he just let it be, but then he realized that he will never be happy to be an engineer because his heart wants to be a photographer, and the last character Ranchodas serves as their guide on finding what they really want, he was sincere, humble, and helpful even though there are a lot of struggles came by, he devoted himself and live peacefully and happy. Let’s not give others the way to ruin how our story will flow, but instead let them be a lesson for us to wake up and keep moving forward, let’s use them as a tool in pursuing what we really love.

Vince and Kath and James

By Jeffrey Betito This movie is a 2016 Filipino teen romantic film directed by Theodore Boborol, starring Julia Barretto, Joshua Garcia and Ronnie Alonte. It is based on the online series "Vince and Kath" written by Jenny Ruth Almocera, that told the story of two lovestruck teens, Vince and Kath through text messages. Vince and Kath and James was released last December 25, 2016 as an official entry to the 2016 Metro Manila Film Festival (MMFF). This film among most entries of the festival was graded 'A' by the Cinema Evaluation Board of the Philippines which allow them to enjoy an additional 15 tax rebate. After watching the movie, I've realize such lessons. One of those is that although we are still young and teens we must learn a specific way to surpass a problem. The story was very predictable that while watching it you can already predict what will happen next. Kath was awarded as the Miss Engineering 2016, which makes her popular and recieves lot of messages from different people. One of them are Vince and James. Vince who admires her for a long time but hides it and chooses to tease Kath every time they see each other and James, the varsity player of the school who finds Kath beautiful after seeing her in the pageant. Vince and James are cousins but opposite with each other. They live in one house together with Vince's mother is away with his new family and it's James parents who paid for his tuition fee and other needs. Vince is a good student who always get good grades while James focuses on his career as basketball player. As a result, James grades is low and his parents always scold him. Vince and James developed as bestfriends. Whenever James need a help in his academics, Vince is always there for him. Vince didn't expect that James would be asking help in texting ang getting to be friends to the girl they both admire. They started the conversation when Kath asked how would she take care of her brother who just got circumcised. When Var asked Kath to meet each other at first she didn't approve, but after Maxine's cinvincing and sending 'yes' confirmation, James was happy that time while Vince get sad, because the time is up for Kath and him as Var. The movie was interesting not only because of the theme by which millenial could actually relate but also because the director and his team created a beautiful and effective props. The scenes are shooted in a perfect place. The actor and actresses plays their role very well. They acted unexpectedly, the way they act, it was very consistent from the start until the end of the movie that's why you will never get bored in watching this movie. It also makes use of technology, the cellphone which many of us use as a communication. I want to see more with this story. I hope there would be part II.

The Trolls

 By Shania Quirob     Happiness is like a rainbow, It will appear after the rain. As a person, we will feel true happiness in our family. Without our family, our life will become a blank space that there is no reason to smile and be inspired.     The movie that entitled “The Trolls” give the importance of family. The characters of the film will well- inspired the audience. Especially Poppy, the main character who have been very kind and always making her surroundings happy and fun for the sake of her family. Her father is known as the great king of his people. He treated every troll as his family and Poppy inherit the traits of his father. But at the back of their smiles and happiness, they are facing a big problem to other trolls. When Poppy is at the young age, they are living with big trolls. They have good relationship with them. One day, the King of the other trolls will practice their tradition on giving the throne of the King to his only son. The future King must eat the small trolls and the chef will be the one to choose on a magic tree. As the event goes by, small trolls planned to escape on the big trolls and have a new life with themselves. Small trolls are very cheerful. They will not start their days without enjoying together. But Branch, their consanguine is very different among them. He prepared to live his life alone and avoid other trolls to make any communication with him. Branch do not have colorful skin like others because he is not believing on happiness. When he is young, he lived with his grandmother. He had great life that he enjoyed music because he had a beautiful voice that every small troll had. Poppy invite Branch on her birthday party one night. Branch is just staying on a dark place watching them enjoying the night. They don’t know that the Chef that been expelled on the palace of the big trolls recognize the fireworks and the light that been made on a party. The Chef is really finding them because he wanted to prove himself to the King that he can find the place of the small trolls. The Chef taken the other trolls and give it to the palace. He wanted to cook the trolls and will give it to the King and the visitors of the event to be held. And the story circled on this problem. Poppy encountered being hopeless and the color of her skin faded. But Branch help her to survive her feelings. They fight for the right and they made realized by the big trolls that happiness will truly feel from our family. The story ended on having a good relationship again with the trolls and they live happily ever after.     I have learned that we must cherish the memories we’ve made with our family. Happiness is very important to live with. We must reminded that our family is at our side in times that we feel down and empty.

Valerian and the City of a Thousand Planets

A Movie Review by Melliny Jane Rivera Valerian and the City of a Thousand Planets is visually stunning. It is an utter delight and one of the most gorgeous fantasies to hit the screen in recent memory, the kind of film that can take moviegoers logy from the usual array of craptaculars and render them giddy with its pure fun. Set in the 28th century, the film centers on Valerian and Laureline, a pair of special operatives fighting crime throughout the universe. As the story begins, the two are sent off to Big Market, a virtual-reality bazaar whose hordes of vendors can only be seen and approached after donning special equipment, to confiscate an ultra-rare and powerful Mül Converter, an adorable creature capable of reproducing anything that it eats. The cocky Valerian soon finds himself being pursued by any number of creatures while the far more cool and collected Laureline is charged with saving his bacon, presumably not for the first time. The twist this time is that, due to a technological malfunction, Valerian is also trapped between two different levels of reality with most of his body in the real world while his arm is stuck in the virtual universe. This may not make a lot of sense in the explanation but the end result on the screen is a hilarious and exciting thing of crackpot beauty that is just one high point of a film filled with them.After securing the Mül Converter, Valerian and Laureline report to Alpha, a massive floating city that began centuries earlier as the International Space Station and has expanded over the years to serve as a home away from home for aliens from throughout the universe to live together in harmony. Now Alpha’s very existence is being threatened from within, and Valerian and Laureline are charged with getting to the bottom of things before it is too late. The two uncover evidence of a massive government conspiracy to cover up a ghastly mistake. As they try to unravel the scheme before all is lost, the two are separated and have a series of adventures involving a wild collection of creatures, the most memorable of which is a shape-shifting “glampod” played by pop princess Rihanna, who turns up to help Valerian rescue Laureline.And lastly there is a great deal of imagination that went into the art design here, and this definitely separates this film from the overly saturated sci-fi sub genre. The ambition showed in the world building of this universe is commendable, director Luc Besson really goes for it here. It was really a deliriously entertaining film that finds writer/director Luc Besson swinging for the fences in his efforts to make a weirdo sci-fi epic for the ages and coming up with a virtual home run derby. It's a film filled with humor, charm, excitement and so many memorable images that many viewers will find themselves struggling to keep from blinking so as not to miss any of the eye-popping delights crammed into each overstuffed frame.

Bad Genius

It s an open secret when it comes to school examination, almost everyone does it but no one has a courage to talks about it in order to be safe and to become far from any schoool punishment. Bad Genius is one of a hip movie directed by Nattawut Poonpiriya that was shown in cinema last 2017 that tackles an interesting topic with the highest grossing film in Thailand as well as the most profitable Thai film distributed worldwide of all time so far. It isn't very frequent that we get a Thai movie in a local cinemas aside from "Shutter" of 2004 and the "Peek Mak" of 2013 so this one promises to be a good one. Lyn is a gifted student who's been granted scholarship so she can attend a prestigious high school. There she meets Grace who is one of a rich student but a lower IQ student who needs to pass in order to participate in extracurricular activities. In reality, this is one of the problem of most individual to maintain a grades in all academic subjects. The time that Lynn helps her new friend cheat on a Math test gives a high impact to a guilty students who really did this too. Grace's boyfriend Pat finds out and forcefully convince lynn to let him copy too an up coming examination and offers to pay fo her services, she was also endorsed by Pat to his other rich kid peers and students that were results a higher marks in every examination. Since Lynn who's struggling financially, she was tempted by them and forced to take the offer (3000 baht per exam in every person) so she can help her father to pay for the miscellaneous school expenses. When time came for the international-based STIC examination, Lynn called in herfellow genius scholar and competitor Bank for his incredible memory as the stakes of their massive cheating operation were raised to reach millions of baht for the both of them, it was also committed by the bank since he lost his scholarship. This is the most interesting part of the movie when bank and Lynn flying to Sydney, Australia in order to get a four-hour headstart on the exam answers to transmit to Pat and Grace. All possible gimmicks were already used to enhance the tension during that climactic series of events. The cinematography also lent a visual contrast between the film's planning stage and the main event. There's a great emphasis in the discussion of the main characters during the events leading up to the climax is edited into supercuts and shot in various angles so that it never feels too gragging. Overall the movie "bad genius" is a cautionary tale upon dishonesty. For me this movie don't suits to other student especially to primary and intermidiate because it's uncomfortable watching cheating in prestigious examinations or even a simple exam. In some reason that it might be imitated by them but I think for high school student will find it very funny and catchy because at this point they can encounter this thing. The lesson that you shall get from this film is all about academic integrity and I'm sure the target audience will be affected and learns here more. The line that I can leave a mark in this movie critique is that cheating has always a punisment integrity will always bring succes.

Revenger's Squad

By Pyke Kenneth Relleve The movie that i choose is the revengers squad.We all know that this movie is very exciting and adventurous. It because of gandarra in true life we called vice ganda. This movie is not boring to me. Because when we watch the movie of vice ganda it feels happy and enjoy to me. Though that vice ganda and other character is a commedian. We feel laugh when we watch the flow of this movie. And it can help to releave our stress and it feels comportable and relax. I dont expected that miss universe will show up in the movie. But im happy and feel excited when miss universe turn into a hero not in the first part of the movie but in the last part of the movie entitled the revengers squad.      In this movie i feel so excited because of the transpormation of gandarra,higopa,flawlessa,pospora and barna into a superhero to defeat the father of chino,chino known as daniel padilla in true life. Gandarra have a beautiful sister named cassy but cassy go part in the badside because she want to revenge. Because gandarra defeat his love ones the father of chino named renz. Gandarra,higopa and flawlessa affraid that chino like of his father. But not chino have a super power in his 21st birthday to be part of the super hero having a good heart chino known as rapiddo. Rappido want to be an army to help people but when he become a superhero rapiddo help so many people. Gandarra and other superhero do everything to defeat all bad man to his/her country. And i feel so shock and laugh when i see juliana pariscova segovia in the movie having some conversation to gandarra and it feels so happy. I dont expect that vice ganda known as gandarra do the part of kathryn in shes dating the ganster and even in barcelona i feel so laugh when i see vice ganda do it in the movie. Gandarra is a lovable to his sister and also to rapiddo. In the last part of the movie i feel so sad because mino defeat gandarra. Suddenly gandarra have a good heart to be a strong more than mino thats why i feel so thankful when gandarra a live in the battle and defeat mino. After i watch the movie i realize that every individual in this world is a hero having a good heart. Its to amazing when i watch this movie have a power to defeat bad creatures, have a good heart , have a love ones do everything to help, love can defeat darkness if you have a good personality and good heart. Because love is the strongest weapon to defeat bad person.

Coco

-A movie analysis by Jessica Polidario

“Nothing is more important than a family” and “A family comes first” this are the few lines that will linger when you watched the 2017 Disney animated musical and fantasy film titled Coco. It is directed by the most promising director Lee Unkrich. The story begins with Miguel who is an aspiring young musician who wants to explore his talent despite of his family’s generation hate of music. Music is being forbidden to his family accepting that it is the reason why his great-great grandfather leave his great- great grandmother Imelda and their daughter Coco. He was baffled between his family and his dreams.  Regardless of that Miguel continue to secretly play music and soon his family found out and did not take it well. To prove his point and talent he decided to join the contest at plaza. Unfortunately his guitar was destroyed during the argument with his family. Being desperate he decided to steal the guitar of his idol named Ernesto De La Cruz, a famous musician who already passed away. Because of his discourteous actions he was transported to the Land of the Dead. He meets his departed family and found out that he can only come back to the world of living if one of his family there will give him a blessing. Imelda his great-great grandmother gave him her blessing with a condition to no more playing guitar and no more music. Disagreeing to the conditions Miguel ditched his family to find Ernesto believing that he is his great-great grandfather and will give him a blessing without any conditions. In his journey he met Hector, a wily dead man who is being forgotten who claim to know Ernesto and promise to bring Miguel to him with an agreement to put up his picture when he already return to the land of living in order for him to cross the bridge connecting from the land of living to the land of dead. Unexpectedly he found out that Hector is his great-great grandfather and not Ernesto. He also found out that Ernesto is very far from what he think and what he expected. He is the one who murdered and stole hectors music piece. On Miguel’s journey he began to realize and appreciate so many thing including his family. At the end Hector got his just and mend the pain that he causes to his family and Ernesto, the egocentric and mendacious musician is the one now who is being forgotten. So, Coco is a movie about how important a relationship, understanding, forgiveness, connection, communication is and especially how important family is. Family don’t come and goes whatever pain or agonies you are in and whatever the world throws at you they will stick out and stay beside you. They will support, cheer and bring you up during your downfalls and they will brighten your day during those darkest times. Appreciate and love your family and don’t forget to let them feel it every moment also remind them every chance you’ve got. Be proud and be the one who brings those meaningful smile to those meaningful persons.

But I choose to watch that movie because Vice Ganda is one of the main character there. And I know that Vice Ganda is a comedian. So I expect that all over the movie I will truly burst into laughter. Eventually, I did. The other cast are also funny like wacky kiray and the three comedians. I dont know their names but they are funny. I didn't expect that a Miss Universe will look like that in the movie. Knowing that she's also an artist I expected that before. But it's her first time to be in a movie along with Vice Ganda and Daniel Padilla. All over the movie I burst into laughter. Though the story goes on the adventure of the seven superheroes who tries to defeat Mino. Indeed, evil will not triump against goodness. And it was evident in the story because as Mino change Cassy and Rapiddo into villain. It does not last long because Gandarra and his squad tried to protect them from Mino. Gandarra and their squad protect the sin of Mino and it is chino. But when gandarra wake up she had an amnesia, she cannot remember anything about the past. She treat chino as her son. Gandarra have a beautiful sister named Cassy but when gandarra defeated mino the heart of Cassy will broke. Because of it, Cassy go in the bad side. Cassy go far away from them. Bad Genius

By Jolina Pasahol Probably its Lynn’s young mind and desire for money, which have brought her into a big chaos. The conflict started when her father transferred her into a known school.  He has nothing to worry about because Lynn is a very smart kid. Although they seemed not to like each other, very well he made sure that Lynn would have a bright future. He never thought that moving her would ruin her life forever. Grace, her newfound friend in that school offered to be her tutor in a certain subject. Her intention was pure from the start it changed when they took an exam; it was actually Lynn’s fault because she initiated the act, she gave Grace an idea. Grace was overwhelmed when she passed the exam until it became their habit. Grace’s boyfriend convince her to continue their cheating activities through an international qualifying exam in exchange for money then offered Lynn. She was hesitant at first but was later tempted by the money. She actually build a piano class tutorial to teach the students their strategy on how to cheat the examination. It was their major exam when their school head found out of their immorality. She was disqualified to take the qualification exam for an international scholarship. Her father was very disappointed of her. He never expected Lynn would do such thing. However, Lynn never learned her lesson. Grace’s boyfriend offered her again for the college entrance exam. They made a very concrete plan of what they are going to do. However, they fail when Bank was caught using cellphone in the comfort room. After realizing all her mistakes, Lynn decided to quit the immoral act. She never contact her friends again. She promised herself that she would change for good. For me personally the movie is very good. I have learned so many things in this movie. I think the purpose of this movie is for the students like me to teach lesson tp never do the same mistake as what Lynn do. We will always be accountable with our doings. We can never take what we have done in the past so we need to be careful with our decisions. Life should always be filled with happy memories not regrets. The disadvantage of the movie was that it would give students an idea from all the cheating techniques mentioned in the movie. But base on Lynn’s experience I guess no one will ever dare to do it. It would take a lot of courage to do it. I think the issue of cheating is not new from the students. Sometimes we commit this act when we desire to have higher grades or they want, to prove to something to their parents. Nevertheless, in my perspective cheating will not do you any good. “Success is earned not given.” If we want something then we should work hard for it. Cheating is very common nowadays because everyone is doing it but I have learned in our ethics subject that, not all legal are ethical. It does not that everyone’s doing it, it’s the right thing to do. The movie was very good you can learn a lot from it about life, friendship, and family love. It’s full of life lessons especially about acceptance. Accept your mistakes and learn from it like how Lynn accepted her mistake in the last part of the movie. As for friendship, I have learned that we should be careful of who is our true friend. Sometimes they are only using us for their needs. And I think for me the best part of the movie is that the love of Lynn’s father for her, he still accepted her with all her flaws and love her unconditionally.

A Before I Fall Movie Analysis

“No, you saved me…”

 Samantha Kingston belongs to a well-known group of girls in her school. She has three famous best friends and a handsome boyfriend.  She had everything. She’s perfect. Until she woke one day and everything’s changed.  She woke up every day for 7 days reliving the day before everything.

 Before I Fall was first published in 2012, as a teen fiction book written by Lauren Oliver. I read it around May 2017. And when I had a chance to search for it in the internet, I found out that the movie will be released later that year.

 As a reader, the plot twists of Before I Fall really caught my taste.  The movie didn’t disappoint me either (even though a lot of scenes were altered and gone).

 I love how Zoey Deutch (Sam) lives in her character. I love how she shows the emotions needed for the scene.  I love how she [Sam] manages to figure out what to do to save both Juliet and her best friends. She selflessly gave herself to save everyone, thus hitting two birds with the same stone. She saved Juliet and her best friends and she also saves herself because that marks the end of her days.

 This movie had affected me so much because it made me question my decisions in life. Sam only had 7 days to correct her mistakes and then she managed to do it right. While me, I have today, tomorrow or one thousand or three thousand or ten but I don’t know how to do it. I don’t know how to correct my own mistakes. I don’t know how and where to start.

 When Samantha fell because she got hit by a truck, I felt like, like her, I fell too. But unlike her, no one saved me.

 The only loophole is saw or noticed was they didn’t state or show why Juliet was so mad at Lindsay. The fact that Lindsay’s group always makes fun of her, but I think that can’t be just it, it has to be something. There has to be a deeper grudge. In the book, Lauren Oliver revealed why. Lindsay did a lot of nasty things but then she always gets away with it and the blame always comes to Juliet.

 Nevertheless, the movie Before I Fall is a very good movie for those who want to find themselves, in the middle of finding themselves and just found themselves. It tackles different angles of life. It shows the both sides of the spectrum, the positive and the negative sides, the happy and the sad. The movie is perfect for those people who think they don’t have a choice. For those who think that they can’t be fixed. For those who think that suicide is the best choice to end everything. Believe me, it’s not.

 We all have choices. Always remember that.

Watching movies we will have the knowledge and we will discover different things. Watching the movie will also see a lot of emotions like fun and lonely and you will also experience sadness and joy. Because watching movies is not just entertainment and not just because you want to watch a movie watching movie we get a lesson.     One of my favorite films was made by filipino but I also like the work of korean. One of the things I like to make Korean is Black. It's made by Kim Hong Sun the director of the movie. Which is Song Seung Hun and Go A Ra the character of the movies black. Black tells the story of a grim reaper named Black and a woman named Kang Ha Ram who can foresee death. Together, they go against the rules of the heavens and fight to save someone’s life. However, after falling in love with Ha Ram, Black breaks rules and gets erased from the memories of the world. Kang Ha Ram  are the one who finds justice for the death of his father. Detective Han is a police officer who want to finds  justice in the death of his brother. 444 is also know as grim reaper that takes the soul of a person who dies. Detective Han did not give up on finding evidence of his brother's death but one day there was an accident at a mall and he was shot in his head. There was a chance to enter  the soul of 444 or known as grim reaper in the detective's body. But  444is in the detective's body, he could no longer see the shadow in the body of a dead person. 444 found that Kang Ha Ram seeing a shadow he talked to her and said that she would not leave her side. Kang Ha Ram and grim reaper are partner in saving a person who had a shadow in her body and the help of Kang Ha Ram. As they gather evidence it will slowly launch a murder last year and grin reaper gradually becomes aware of what has happened in his past. In his discovery of the past many people were killed and many were discovered by the grim reaper.

Often Done but Strange Cheating System

A Bad Genius Movie Analysis

Bad Genius is a hit Thai Movie that talks about a Thai student who helped her classmates with their exam in exchange for money. It all began when Lynn, a smart girl, transferred in a school. She has zero social skills not until she met Grace who became her friend. Grace has a boyfriend named Pat, a very rich guy, who later discovered Lynn’s intelligence. So, the couple made a proposal for Lynn. They will pay her in exchange for answers in exam. Until more of their classmates get involve and the cheating system became a business. And there’s Bank, who is as intelligent as Lynn, and became involved in this system because of a really big mission they need to do. The story just escalates from there. Every character gained good returns but has been a negative habit for all of them. The method of cheating navigates the growth of greed to the characters especially for Bank. He became obsess with success. The characters display different kinds of intelligence that makes you realize how truly good the direction is. The movie putted up several thrilling activities that enhance the tension and make it more exciting for the audiences. The sound effects were perfectly combined with the actions that really give the audiences a wildly thumping heartbeat. The absence of speaking makes a scene more thrilling. These exciting thrillers will put you on the edge of your seat from start to finish. Teenagers may find it humorous but the term of techniques used was marvellous and hope it will never be used.  You will feel how sweaty and dumbfound the characters are. Every cheating scene opens out you will be back to your time as a student taking a test. The movie gives a picture of problems imposed on students that pushed them to do certain activities in order for them to survive. The most fascinating about Bad Genius is that the characters did not invest feeling with one another. They just stick on the given task. They possess cold-blooded characters. Cheating system has been within the organization of education. But this movie will not teach us how to cheat but will give us a lesson about it. It shows that all our actions have consequences. Either it may be good or bad. If you have done something that is not good expect that the result will also be the same. After all the thrilling, jaw-dropping, heart thumping scenes, I admit that I did not like the ending not just because of the switch character but because I expect more of it. The movie gave me a hanging effect. But the ending gave me a nudge. I know that after watching the movie there will be a lesson. The veracity it taught and I hope the audiences gain knowledge about it. It’s not surprising that this became one of the highest grossing films of 2017. Overall, Bad Genius is astounding. I just want to give an appreciation to everyone who made this possible.

Loving You to the Stars and Back

"Life is so ironic; it takes sadness to know what happiness is, noise to appreciate silence and absence to value presence." It is hard to loose someone whom we valued most. A person who's always there to guide you, protect you, and love you. A person who serves as your teacher, your bestfriend and a companion. The memories you had will slowly poop up into your mind only because you missed him/ her. The cut in your heart will slowly cure and fade if you let that pain be a motivation to succeed. No one can live without others presence. You cannot totally recover if ypu dont open doors to those who knocks. The movie Love you to the Stars and Back shows how life plays us. Trying to fight back to measure how strong are we. If you feel dumb and broke, just let this pieces be your tool to make your own building. Tragedy's will give you negative impacts. But these negative emotions won't give you a misery. Because every emotion is shared by partner. There will always be a person who will help you and make you out of the worst. Eventhough you close doors because you feel unhappy. You close doors because no one knocks. You close doors beacuse no one ever tried to talk.You close door because your chest isn't stopping from breaking out. It's okay! There is a right time for everything, a time to cry, to laugh, to be alone, to be with someone, you feel broken, there's a time that you'll be healed, sometimes you will  feel that everything is falling apart when someone really hurt you and suddenly you would just feel that you're not important, that nobody loves you until that experience make you more stronger and give you a realization that you really need to stand on your own.You will learn that you really need to love yourself and appreciate what you have; so when these things happen again you'll never feel the pain you encounter at first. You can now conquer every fear of being alone, being hate with somebody. You can now step forward to what is more important to yourlives. You can now enjoy your life even there's a lot of struggles because you already learn how to appreciate every little things. We should be thankful in whatever the situation we encounter, whatever the situation that we are in right now. We are not  born to always please people, let us just accept the fact that there's someone that will stay in ourlives and there is someone that will leaveus. Let us just be nice and treat them the way that they want to be treated.  Why does it hurts me so? Maybe my love will comeback someday. Only heaven knows.

The Debutants

The movie entitled the debutants is a story of girls aspiring for an enjoyable 18th birthday celebration because as we all know debut is part of the lives of every babies that will turned being a lady we all want to experience a celebration when we rich 18 years of existence . But in this movie the scenes turned bloody with a curse cast upon them . This was directed by Prime Cruz under Regal Entertainment . The scenes flows and start with the lead characters Kate ( Sue Ramirez ) is a strange and weird girl who wants to be friends with the popular girls in her school Lara( Miles Ocampo) ,Jenny ( Jane De Leon) ,Canice ( Michelle Vito) and Shayne ( Chanel Morales) . Kate starts having strange dreams about the girls dying ,Kate tries to warn the girls in order to save them but they dont listen to Kate . Well they find out the curse cast on them before they turned 18. The story follows Kate an outcast girl who is notable for her bangs and taciturn persona. All she wants is being socially accepted especially by the likes of Lara,Jenny,Canice,and Shayne the "IT GIRLS" who enjoy fame and class .Out of trap on an 18th celebration Kate faces the unwanted humiliation as the party turns into a bully over her scars on the back. This scenario feels familiar except the blood and guy the means of killing could not live up to the atmosphere of fear and terror. What i like  about the Debutantes is its risk in bringing young and fresh faces in showbiz as its main characters . It is refreshing to see those young talented and such a beautiful ladies who portrayed well in thier respective roles.But still there are some scenes which I dont like if you are to identify the turn arround of its plot on the early part , there is no more grand or special to expect but see the characters die one by one .This aint a spoiler . The trailer already gave a glimpse of them dying in the horrible ways. Being a scary in general ,the film is only average compared with regal films. But it is a best horror movie so far . The debutants lack on its intensity of its death scenes . As a quite lover of horror films I could have expected more since theres a lot to improve in Pinoy Horror films nowadays. Majority of death scenes could have been more creative and blooder too so that it will more attractive to the viewers . The story of the debutants gives us a moral lesson which really touches our hearts . We should be able to accept people no matter what how hard to accept their differences and they are not capable of doing what we want them to do. People may be weird but that weird person can do or sacrifice something that nobody can do the same. People also have different character and attitude, its just up to us how we're going to treat them, but its better to don't do to others what you don't want to do unto you.

Whenever we feel down, we want to have at least one person whom can be our crying shoulder. Most probably, that person could be our mother, our father or both of our parents. However, in our society today, our parents would keep on nagging on us and would be the ones who make us feel neglected, make us feel lonely and make us feel worthless – instead of uplifting our minds, molding our talents and appreciating all the things that we have done, whether good or not that good.

Most of the parents nowadays are not attentive with their children anymore that they would always have no time for them, resulting to a lot of troubles. In the movie which was entitled “I Not Stupid Too,” it revolves around the lives of Tom Yeo, his younger brother Jerry and their friend Lim Chengcai, wherein all of them lack spending quality time with their parents, never had any praises coming from their parents, and even got deprived of something which they love to do.

Tom is a 15-year-old boy who is technologically inclined and a talented blogger, while 8-year-old Jerry enjoys the performing arts and has the lead role in his school concert. Mr. and Mrs. Yeo, their parents, would always have no time for them since they would always have busy schedules, leading to a strained relationship.

While on the other hand, Tom’s buddy, Chengcai, was raised alone by his ex-convict father, Huang Yiliang, who has the fighting skills that he inherited. In the very first part of the movie, it was already observed that Tom’s mother never did appreciate his talents. He had just been awarded and recognized in their school as a talented blogger, yet his mother, who was also a writer in one of the most prestigious magazines in Singapore, never felt grateful for. Thus, she even nagged about it and slapped on his face of how worthless is what he was doing.

As a teenager, I know for myself that in this time, or in teenage years, we become more vulnerable. It is a crucial stage for us since we are having our development in all our aspects as a person. This scene really hit me for I too, had experienced such before, and even now. I never heard any word coming from my Dad’s mouth saying that he appreciated any of my talents. Speaking straight to the point, I never heard anything from him because I don't have a father. Since grade 3, my mother decided to end her relationship with my father for it brings nothing good, it only becomes more toxic each day.

I remember when I was still a child, bruises were what I see on mama's face instead of make ups. Screams are the music I hear every day, scream of my mother asking for help, but no one was there to save her. Even I had done nothing... I can't help myself but to cry in the corner. Going back, since grade 3 until Grade 7, I was a consistent honor student. Modesty aside, I even graduated salutatorian when I was in grade 6 and I was also top 3 when I was in grade 7 in Bicol Regional Science High School. But whenever I see my classmates hugged by their parents during graduation and recognition, even those who haven't received any award, I still feel like a loser. I think to myself "What are these medals and awards for? I don't even have a father and a mother to hug me and say congratulations", because since I was a child, my mother works abroad to sustain the need of us four, her children.

There was the scene in the movie also wherein Jerry, was chosen as the main character in their drama, I guess. But what’s on his mind was that according to his mother, extra-curricular activities are just a waste of time. Academics are what one must focus on. But still he pursued on what his talents are. Only that he never knew when he could tell the concert in which he was the lead character, could be attended by their parents for their parents were always busy.

When it comes to my mom, luckily, my mom is not that busy on her work. As a matter of fact, we would always have at least an hour or a day as our quality time. However, it is on me that I don’t want to open up with them about my whereabouts in life for when I tell them something bad for instance, they would be scolding me instead of comforting me. Also with regards to the extra-curricular activities as a waste of time, it is not my mom’s perception. Actually, she is the one who keeps on motivating me to participate in different co-curricular activities only that sometimes, I prefer not to since for me, it’s just a waste of time. Yes balance between academics and these activities is important but I choose to just focus on only one thing.

On the other hand, Chengcai, was always scolded by his father for being lazy in school to the point that he was not studying well and even not doing his assignments. He would always fail in exams or straightforwardly fail in class. And when he had first done his homework, in their class, he was still scolded by his teacher, Mr. Fu. He was embarrassed by his teacher in front of the class. Mr. Fu told him that his preparation was just the same as doing nothing at all. He then walked out of the room and so as his classmates had done as well. Mr. Fu then saw three young ladies and asked them what their scores are in the exam. When the scores were so low, he then scolded the girls and slapped on their faces how dumb they are for not passing the exam wherein fact he even bought dictionaries for his students to learn well. Of course, as a student, the teenagers would feel bad. Until another teacher came and talked to Mr. Fu. He told Mr. Fu that in times like that, in times like the students are having low grades, instead of bringing them down, try to say to them that they can do better than that. The other teacher told him that he must never forget the key to learning. And the key that he was referring to was not to look at the flaws of a person but look at his/her good deeds. Don’t look at the dark side when you can look at the bright side right?

This goes the same with one of my experiences also. Sometimes at home, whenever I did something wrong, the people at home would keep on scolding me not knowing that I am fragile even if I am a man. And most of the time, whenever I feel dragged down, I would not aim high, I would not make such struggles as an encouragement but as a discouragement already. That is why most of the time, the love of my life serves as my motivation when at home, what they all have about me are their judgments. Instead of dragging me down, my girlfriend boosts up my confidence. She is also the reason why even if I think I don’t have any worth in this world, I still keep on going.

Going back, in the movie, during a school check for mobile phones, Tom was caught with a pornographic VCD. As his teacher confiscates it, Chengcai made a mischievous remark that triggered the teacher into slapping him, leading to an exchange that escalated into a massive fight. The principal then decided to expel Chengcai, while Tom receives a public caning for his part in the fight. For me, caning someone would not stop a wrong deed of a student. It would never be a solution to any problem. Come to think of it. If you would cane a student, specifically in public, would that stop him on repeating the same mistake? Definitely no, it won’t. It would not stop the wrong doings but it would just delay someone in doing it. As a matter of fact, the person would just get ashamed since he/she is caned in public. Or worse, when he/she gets better, he/she would plan to do something bad against that of who caned him/her. Even I for myself, I get caned too. I even get slapped on my face literally too. And honestly, it really feels bad for the person who does this to me is just either my mom or dad. But doing such would never get me disciplined. I mean hurting someone physically is never a solution.

Thus, it is very damaging to a student, especially children or teenagers to be caned in public, or hurt through words or physically in a public. With a stroke of the cane, the harsh words or the hand, their self esteem, ego, pride and confidence are stripped away. How will they face their peers after that? They would never want to show their faces again to anyone who was there when they were caned. Also, are we teaching them how to behave better or are we throwing them into darker pits? In fact, it is an issue to be reflected even to the Ministry for in the golden rule, we all know that “Do unto others as you would have them do unto you”. This means only means that we should never do anything to someone which we do not want them to do unto us since we must only do whatever we wanted to do unto us by others.

However, due to the expulsion and caning, Tom and Chengcai later joined a local street gang and as their initiation, they were forced to shoplift an iPod. However, they were caught by two conmen with connections to the street gang posing as police detectives, who demand that they pay the fine $2000 within two days or be arrested. On the other side, while Mr. Yeo was tutoring his sons, he tells them that people will pay $500 for an hour of his time. Jerry, who wanted his parents to come to his school concert, started saving money, but he couldn’t save enough and eventually resorted to stealing. After he is caught, his furious father repeatedly caned him and scolded him, but forgave him still when the boy explained that he just wanted $500 to "buy" an hour of his father's time. This immediately made Mr. and Mrs. Yeo read Tom's blog and realized how unappreciated and unworthy their children feel. Upon understanding their children, the Yeo parents watched Jerry's concert, much to his delight. Just as this scene, parents must never ever accuse their children of doing something wrong wherein fact, the things done by their children have a story behind. Not because parents are the ones who gave birth to us, their children, it already means that they know us already. This is not true all and most of the time. Just like me, my parents wouldn’t know that last time, I almost committed suicide because of their accusations and judgments in me which were not true at all. I really couldn’t help it but to cry and to think of the act of killing myself just to ease the pain that I felt. I know that killing one’s self is a mortal sin for in the first place, only God can take away our lives from us for He was the One Who created us. But because of the soreness and burden that I felt in my soul and in my heart, I wasn’t able to think well that in that moment, in just one snap, there will be no Rading II in the world anymore. I even though to myself if I were dead, would anyone miss me? Or I guess they would be much happier for they would not be having a worthless son anymore?

As the saying goes “Never judge a book by its cover.” So parents must never just their children about something which for them is not right, when in the very first place, they don’t even know the story behind their children’s situation.

So in the story, since Tom and Chengcai were unable to raise $2000 themselves, they robbed an old lady of her necklace, but regret their action and tried to return it to her. A struggle occured, and Chengcai bumped into several gangsters, while Tom's mobile phone falls out of his pocket as he was tackled by cruel people. The phone then hits the ground, accidentally calling Mr. Yeo, who was currently doing a presentation about 3G phones for a contract worth $3 million. Instead of prioritizing his work, he rushed off to the scene and pleads the old lady to give Tom a second chance. When the police arrived, the old lady told them that she made a prank call, which meant to give Tom another chance. Sadly, I never experienced being the priority of my parents now that I am already a teenager. I am the third of four siblings. But it seems like my mom’s favorite is not me. Well of us four, only those three siblings of mine are those whom she would always buy whatever they want. Well of course, I would not deny the fact that I still feel jealous of what mom is up to.

After that scene, two days later, Mr. Yeo met the conmen and gave them thousands of dollars of fake money. The conmen were then arrested by real police officers who have been waiting just near them and then Mr.Yeo heard the news of the big success with his company, for having the title of the project, which both of them remained overjoyed. With this, I can say that family still matters the most. Families should matter the most, before anything else.

Nonetheless, the gangsters whom Chengcai bumped into earlier beat him up. Mr. Lim, his father, who happens to be nearby, tried to protect his son, but suffered head trauma after being pushed down the stairs. He was taken to a hospital, critically injured. On his deathbed, Mr. Lim told Chengcai that he loves him and that he should pursue his talent for fighting and then his father died. Witnessing this scene, the principal who was never disobeying the rules of the school was touched and allowed Chengcai to return to school. The boy eventually became an internationally recognized martial artist. Just like what the teacher had done, parents must also do the same. Or everyone must also do the same. Everyone must give and must be given chances to prove their abilities, worth, talents and other things which are deprived of them or lacking from them. The teacher who was once strict and inappreciative, Mr. Fu, already got the key that what the other teacher was pertaining to for he already recognizes the good things such as the talents of his students more than their flaws.

Often, we think that we, children, are right in whatever we do. We neglect our parents’ opinions, turn a deaf ear on them and forget what they tell us. We think that what we do is always right. We never believe on what they say to us.

We often want others to change especially your parents but have we thought of changing ourselves first? No, right? For we only see their mistakes, not ours. We feel embarrassed when our parents are with us especially when we are hanging out with our friends, but have we even thought of the reason why they want to be with us? No, right? Because we only see them as someone who stops us from doing what we want. They are just with us to deprive us with our freedom.

But can’t we see it from the bright side that they only want the best for us? That they don’t want us to be like them so they deprive us on doing things which we think are good. They only want what’s best for us, what’s for our own good sake.

And so as it goes the same with you, or parents. You want us to be just like you but never did you know how hard it is for us to try to do it. You want us to follow your ways but have you even followed ours? I mean have you ever tried to understand us when we talk? You think also that you are always right, although at some point you really are. But have you even cared of what we feel is right?

As teenagers, fitting in to our peers or in our society is really a hard thing for us to do. Coping up with a lot of challenges, trials, and struggles are really difficult for us to handle, especially if you weren’t there beside us to guide us.

The world wherein we live in now is really what I think is a test of God. It is for us to be tested on how we choose our paths and how we walk our paths. It is whether we go to the right path or not. It is whether we do good things or bad. But one thing is for sure – the give and take relationship. We, as children, must try our very best to relate with our parents, and so as for our parents to do the same thing on us. It’s like you get to know about me more and I will get to know about you more as well.

Just like us, teenagers, our parents are also experiencing struggles. It is like how hard our dad tries to earn his money, how hard our mom tries to cope with the load of household chores at home. We are all the same. We might have different religions, cultures, nationalities, genders and many more aspects, but all of us have equal rights to anything. It’s just a matter of support that we need and of course, we need the most powerful weapon to make things all possible, and that is our prayers to the Lord. So we must all bear in our minds that we must appreciate our parents while we still can, for we'll never know what lies tomorrow. And never ever take a look at one’s flaws. Never ever point out the mistake of a person and instead, focus on his/her good deeds.
