Maybe I am late to the party: another Gwyn theory that has nothing to do with a male

*I am aware that this may be a crack theory* | cc spoilers

I don't know about you but if I lived in a magical world where "through love all is possible" I would be attempting to bring my twin sister, my only family, back.

Humor me: I was getting bored only seeing Gwyn theories linked to males and Lightsingers (100% on board with this tho) and during my research you know what I realized Gwyn's twin sisters name is linked to?! Hekate the goddess:

Catrin: This name is connected with the ancient goddess known as Hekate who was the goddess of magic, witchcraft, the night, moon, ghosts and necromancy.

NECROMANCY?! I mean.........SJM is overdue to bring this story element to the ACOTAR world-especially since we just saw it in CC and I think this would be a great motive for Gwyn's character...Is this where SJM is going? I don't know, but I haven't seen anyone else post about this recently. Point me in the right direction if someone has done a more thorough meta on this please!

Gwyn = Ansel (TOG)

(TOG spoilers) | These are my personal opinions | and this is NOT an anti-Gwyn post. | I believe characters are allowed to be morally gray and the reader is allowed to still love them. I'd argue that most of SJMs characters are morally gray and we still love em all the same!

Forget the Lightsinger theory have we all considered that Gwyn may pull an Ansel in some fashion?!

SJM characterizes Gwyn and Ansel in the same way on a few occasions and the reader may be left feeling suspicious after reading their scenes.

Gwyn: "Eyes glowed with mischief", "consipiritorial whisper", "Hair shimmering in the dim light". Ansel: "mischief twinkling in Ansel’s red-brown eyes", "conspirator’s grin", "hair shimmering in a ray of sunlight".

Could Gwyn make "a bad choice, trying to heal a wound she couldn't ever mend. Trying to avenge the people she loved."?

(quote above is directly from TOG-Celaena talking about Ansel after Ansel came to the rescue and helped "the good guys" in the end).

In addition:

*They both reside/work somewhere run by someone who is mute (Clotho/Mute Master)*

*they both witnessed their family being killed in a kitchen*

Maybe its just coincidence, but I think SJM patterns are important to watch out for (if you like that kind of stuff of course).

As someone who passionately posts about and consumes Elriel content for fun I would like to clarify that it is NEVER in an attemp to dissuade or stop those who create fan fiction, art, fun theories, or those who are just simply out here having a good time with characters they’d like to get together.

My idea of fun, which may not be everyone’s cup of tea, is to try to understand where readers might be misinterpreting text/literature and WHY that is. And I can see how that may come across as me being a party pooper as some of my posts can be terse but it is so easy to curate your feed, unfollow me, or scroll past. Thank you 💕
