Elder Kearon’s talk really summarizes why I’m still a believer, because our theology is so forgiving, so open, so universalist, so tender. The God of our theology is constantly giving us chances to come back, to come to Him, to learn, to improve. He doesn’t turn anyone away. He wants us back so much that he even has plans in place for us to grow and learn and join the right path after we die! We get so many chances to mess up and pick ourselves up and try again! It’s such a hopeful, welcoming message.

I like the current talk mentioning how small moments can help us feel the love of God, and it can just hit us at any time that “wow…God does love me”

nobody warns you this but addiction happens without you noticing and one of the first things that it attacks is your ability to care. if you find yourself using recreational drugs every day, stop and take one day a week sober. if you struggle with this or if you don't see the point of the exercise, you are likely already addicted and you need help.

So I’m listening to Saturday Morning Session and I’m on Elder Stevenson’s talk and ofc I’m loving it - so many great concepts and truths - but when he talked about how there’s a thing with members where they won’t let their kids play with other kids who aren’t also members (and he’s like that’s not okay, don’t be like that) I was like what?? That’s a thing?? Y’all. I’m from the South and so I was lucky to have a young women’s class that had MAYBE two girls in it other than me. There’s not many of us LDS where I’m from is what I’m saying. In fact, I was the kid people didn’t want their kids to hang out with at first when they heard I was Mormon/LDS. It’s so wild that people in the church do that I guess, in places where there’s a lot of LDS. I’m so happy Elder Stevenson brought it up to stop it, because having been on the other end of that, it’s totally uncool and a really sad feeling to experience.
