you know i thought more people would be voting against or rallying against their faves because one way or another you're admitting it's cishet media if you want it to win

The loser is either too queer to be a cishet movie or too cishet to be queer...

How is it cishet media?
LXG: Okay listen. League of extraordinary gentlemen is a very cishet movie I ADMIT IT. A chunk of the plot consists of like three (four?) men competing to fuck the female lead. Which btw is so very funny to me. Reverse harem.
VP: Cishet romance good vs evil plot AND the main character is a priest. The movie I'm talking about is The Velocipastor (2018) of course
How is it lgbt?
LXG: Let’s see: Dorian Gray is in it, being fabulous as always, and he’s bi in the original book (and in the movie novelization, he admits to having fucked Oscar Wilde). Mina Harker is in it, and she’s bi in the comics, also she serves so much cunt because when she’s not dressing lowkey masc she’s dressing highkey goth. Henry Jekyll is in it and he’s the wettest drenchedest little slut as always ofc. My brain automatically edits top surgery scars onto Mr. Hyde’s tits whenever hes onscreen (hes never not shirtless) (hes never not a whore) . Your honor theyre all bi and slutty!!!!!
VP: It's camp to me. The only sex scene is a montage of the main characters (a sex worker and titular velocipastor) bonding over the course of the movie. MAJOR FLASH WARNING but you can find it here https://youtu.be/Wp9hcCFEgOw . It's a low budget film (some of the FX is literally just text on a screen telling you what's there) where you can tell everyone involved is having fun with it and it's one of my favorite things ever. I've heard white gay people on tumblr love subverting christian imagery soooo there's that too

How is it cishet media?
White Worm: Cishet because a fair amount of the movie focuses on the sexualization of the female characters towards the men in the film. I’m like 90% certain I remember straight sex in this film.
Baby Jane: No lgbt people here at all. These sisters are straight and hate each other
How is it lgbt?
White Worm: Crazy psychosexual drama for sure, snake lady makes puts of the main girls under her magical snake control in a strangely sensual way? Camp as fuck too
Baby Jane: I heard the old horror gays loved it for the drama and these two older divas' amazing acting (they didn't actually hate each other during the movie. a lot of the rumors were misogynist hokey ). And you know what? These two were great. Love the melodrama

How is it cishet media?
SH: All romance in Sky High (2005) is cishet, with Will Stronghold having a love triangle with Layla and Gwen, Zach's crush on Magenta, and all parents shown. Being made and set in the early 2000s the movie is very "high school movie" with it's plot beats and tropes (though some is intentionally self aware), with Will's home exemplifying the classic suburban life.
TBC: features 2 primary cishet romances (claire/bender, allison/andy)
How is it lgbt?
SH: The first half of the Sky High is about how Will is struggling to hide the fact that he doesn't have superpowers from his parents. He feels constant pressure from them, and the rest of the world, to live up to their perfect expectations of what he's supposed to be. There's an entire scene where Will messily "comes out" as a side-kick to his dad with lines like: "You're just a late bloomer that's what it is", "Maybe. Maybe not. The fact of the matter is, I'm proud to be a sidekick". After that scene there's one where his parents are talking about the realization, with his mom saying " I know you're disappointed. So am I! But we can't change who he is". Sidekicks as a whole, operate as an allegory for the "othered" groups in society, and almost all of the main friend group is one. The movie is also super campy in it's 2005, comic book, aesthetic. And every character's clothing style has queer vibes in one way or another.
TBC: the entire movie is about learning how to not conform to strict roles that society has assigned to u, which feels like an inherently very queer theme to me. allison especially is deeply gnc. also brian screams transgender

WG: Cishet romance is the center of the story and there are no queer people
9t5: Everyone here cishet and the main women have or had a husband at some point.
How is it lgbt?
WG: Sigourney Weaver is hot.
9tF Dolly Parton smokes a blunt with her girl best friends at a bar. And support each other in the workplace.

Do you recall a space on the wall of my home? A picture was missing. Although the picture is my portrait… I doubt you’d recognize the face upon it. Every year that passes, my portrait ages instead of me. THE LEAGUE OF EXTRAORDINARY GENTLEMEN 2003 | Director: Stephen Norrington
