Oh my GOD I just logged into my account and saw this!! It's absolutely gorgeous, I'm in LOVE
My second fan-binding project, complete! (Well technically complete last month but I procrastinated taking pictures.)

Behold, Stargazer by @lemonadegarden! It's a heartbreaking and hopeful Jason-centric batfam fic that I absolutely recommend for everyone. It's all about healing, and it's so thematically strong I just had to have a physical copy so I could thematically cry into the pages.
I'm most proud of the cover, it took quite a few tries to get the fabric just right and I'm pleased with the end result. Less happy with my actual binding, the thread I used was too thin and so it's just not very precise, tension-wise, but still a vast improvement from my first attempt. Learned a lot about cover pages too, this one is a disaster (hence why I didn't take a picture lol).
Onto the next!

Hi! Dropping in to say that i AM working on The Other World still, just trying to write multiple chapters and post consistently instead of writing and posting chapter by chapter like i usually do - cause I want to make sure all my world building stays consistent. Give me a couple of weeks, and I'm sure you won't be disappointed ;)

Really love your work. Re-read it all over again 3 times. Was wondering...do you have a list of recs of writers like you on AO3 who you appreciate or who might have inspired you? Can you share it with us?
Thank you! Sure, there's tons of fanfics I've read over the years that have really stuck with me and inspired me. Here's a couple off of the top of my head -
@midrashic @helenish and @letteredlettered (BIG TIME). There's loads of others that I'm missing as well, I'm dead sure. But a lot of inspiration i get for writing comes from published authors, a lot of the time. Not that published books are always better than fanfiction or vice versa. It just depends honestly – I read a lot of sci fi, and i find that good sci fi stuff is more easy to find in the published world.
I love Margaret Atwood and Cormac McCarthy and Ursula Le Guin and Ocean Vuong. Currently on a bit of a Neal Stephenson kick. Hope this helps, and sorry for the late reply!

What's a little 14 days between updates, am i right?
Bruce was still kneeling in front of Jason. He brushed the hair away from that young face slowly, letting himself remember this moment.
"You're going to go to a place that's as different from here as can be. I coded it into the machine, all you have to do is sit there and be still." He said. There was a sudden emotion that pressed into his ribcage, something wild and sad and awful. "You just have to sit still," he said again, his voice rougher.

This is GORGEOUS, thank you so much!!
In love with the way Jason's face is illuminated and Bruce is in the shadows, and that hand on his shoulder!! Ahhhhhh
Tumblr media
I've recently finished @lemonadegarden's Stargazer and let me tell you, I've cried so much reading it.
A messy sketch of a scene from chapter 5.
They're almost out of Kentucky when Bruce speaks. “I'm going to put my hand on your shoulder now,” he says. “And I'm telling you so you're not caught off guard. Is that okay?”
Jason goes still. “Okay,” he says.
Bruce puts his hand on Jason's shoulder, and Jason focuses every muscle of his frame into not freaking out and jumping a mile. His hand is warm, warm enough that Jason can feel it through his shirt. It feels good. It feels familiar.
Jason looks out of the window again. The sun is setting, and it's starting to get dark. There's lights on in some of the houses but the highway, but they're blurring in Jason's vision, because of the tears in his eyes. Stupid.
“Is this okay?” Bruce asks, his voice quiet.
“Yeah,” Jason says, because it is.
Ao3 Synopsis: Jason Todd is seriously injured during patrol one night, and is forced to stay at the manor to recuperate until his injuries are healed. To pass the time, he makes a list of things he never got to do before he died. Except there's one small problem: most of them involve Bruce, and Jason doesn't really think Bruce cares all that much about him anym

i miss when everyone had a giant, ancient family computer that required family know-how to operate. like you’d go to a friends house and you guys would try to play club penguin or whatever and before you turned it on your friend would be like “oh, before you start up, unplug the mouse four times and kiss the top of the monitor, or the screen will only display in black and white” and you’d just say “ok” and try to pretend their computer wasn’t some kind of evil death machine that smelled like smoke when you ran too many programs
