blood is basically the most normal thing for a sword to hunger for. if a sword gained sentience and started asking me for blood i'd be like yeah i thought you might say that
My fav version of poison ivys power origin story is a lá Thorns (medically tortured as a kid) and when she learns about a literal child following batman around she FREAKS OUT.
Ivy gets batman alone then serves him a total curveball: she wants to vaccinate Robin from most of her toxins. Bruce thinks it’s a trap until word on the street is that Scarecrow and joker had multiple poisons stolen. He confronts ivy and she admits to stealing them but it’s for the proposed vaccine for Robin.
The rules are that he’s not allowed any samples of the vaccine, and Robin stays with her for three hours for the vaccine to fully absorb into his system. Batman can stay with him, but only in the same room as she might need to use lab equipment.
So every Robin gets the very odd experience of having their biannual vaccine from Ms. Poison Ivy, where they are all on their best behavior and get biodegradable stickers while Bruce just very patiently sits next to them like >:| with one of those temperature guns aimed at their heads
When I say “school should be disability accessible”, I don’t just mean we need handicap rails and EAs. Kids should be able to miss a day without failing out of school. You shouldn’t be dismissed from clubs because your attendance record is “spotty” (true story). I once missed an entire week of school because of a terrible, unending migraine. I was expected to keep up with my studies despite the blinding pain that came with working on my computer. When I heard my teachers say that you couldn’t miss exams, I asked what I would have to do to be excused from them. Their response? “Either get a doctor’s note an hour before the exam or death of an immediate family member.”
I cannot express how rigid this expectation was. First of all, with my condition, I wouldn’t have enough warning about my sickness to go to the doctor and request a note. For many people, this is exceptionally difficult, especially with the current shortage of medical professionals. Next, it ignores the fact that my schedule may not line with theirs because of my medical needs. Once, I had to visit a hospital a province away (which I was on the waiting list of for over a year) on the same day as an exam. I begged my mother not to take me because I was so nervous that I would be marked as an automatic fail. I was lucky enough to make it work, but that’s only because of my spectacular support system consisting of family members and wonderful doctors.
Disabilities aren’t always about needing a bus that can accommodate wheelchairs. It’s already difficult enough for many of us to maintain school attendance without the harsh punishments involved for skipping a day. We need to be able to miss school without being punished. Only than can you claim that the school is “accessible”
(if you click on the images, the art credits should be in there. if they're not, it's because I can't fubking find them,, so pls help me if you know who drew them!!!)

Maybe CPS isn't called on Batman because everyone is too afraid of Robin.
Some out of towner: "And you're saying he just let's a child run around in short shorts to get shot at?" *scandalous gasp as they clutch their chest*
Gothamite: "Have you met Robin?"
OoT: "Well, no-"
Gothamite: "That ankle-biter giggles at the sight of teeth flying out of someone's mouth. He screeches for joy jumping off buildings, and he can pummel a 300 pound man with ease. I've seen him sass Joker to the point the clown cried."
OoT: "That's no reason to allow the chil-"
Gothamite: "Are you going to tell Robin he's not allowed to snap goon bones like glowsticks? Are you going to place bedtime restrictions on the sprite that can disappear while you're looking right at 'im?"
OoT: "Maybe I can't, but surely that Dark Knight man could-"
Gothamite: *sighs as they pour themselves a shot and proceed to empty their cup* "You think Batman hasn't tried?"
OoT: *splutters* "That's a child! Surely Batman could parent the y-"
Gothamite: *stares forlorn at the bottom of their cup* "That's no child. That's a demon critter from the dregs of death's realm."
You know, these new apocalypse prophecies just don't carry a punch. 'Oooo, the illuminati is going to perform a mass human sacrifice under the guise of the eclipse.' Big deal. 'Oooo, the path of the eclipse lines up with the seven cities of Neutrogena and when the sun is covered then everyone that got vaccinated is going to turn into a zombie.' I'm so scared.
Bring back 'huge fucking wolf eats the sun.' That's a classic that never gets old.
ID: Photo of a street corner; cars are parked on one side, and buildings on the other. Centered is a large cherry tree in full bloom, covered in pink blossoms, lit from behind by the sun.
Already posted this on Bluesky, and I like it so much you get to see too. I don't usually take good photos. That's mostly bc I'm a) too cheap and lazy to bother keeping up with the latest tech, and b) too slow on the draw to catch good shots. I always get entranced by the ephemeral moment, start thinking the kind of weird-ass thoughts that sometimes lead to novels, and then I remember to grab my cellphone ten minutes later. Anyway, this is with a Samsung Galaxy S22, portrait mode. And I got lucky.
thank you to the dishonest failing new york times for constantly erasing us and purposefully obscuring jewish participation in these protests just to make people less sympathetic to the movement opposing an ongoing genocide
btw you can see all the edits nyt makes to their article titles on this twitter account
