💔THIS IS NOT JUST A BURGER💔 But Probly the single most pure and beautiful acts of kindness I’ve ever been bestowed. In recent months I’ve befriended a young teen lad of a Syrian family taking refuge in a small council provided home on my road. I’ve heard many heart shattering stories of this boys struggle through not only the adversity of his journey to England, but the continual loss of his infant/adolescent/elderly family members in recent bombings, that were not able to flee the ongoing state of Syria. Now this part will surely have me leaking again... After learning that I live alone this lovely boy (whom escaped the possible death with his mum and younger brother to live in my country) appeared at my doorstep late last evening to offer me a humble plate of food that he and his family had prepared for me. From what little they have after leaving their lives behind to start anew, through all the mental and physical adversity they endured/continue to endure... they offered me part of what little they have. For my mere friendliness. I sobbed. Oh god we forget how fortunate we are 💔 I feel so blessed to have experienced such a subtle yet powerful act of pure human kindness/graciousness. It was beautifully heartbreaking. We live in strange times... full of instant gratifyingly ego contrived bullshit, where we are so hasty to moan and ache about such tediousness when it could be just so much worse. It struck a bit of a personal heart string coming from my own experience of times in life oh having little to nothing and preserving for better quality of life. You won’t catch me with a quick draw to complain about the blessed conditions we are graced by in western society compared to some of the heartbreakingly treacherous alternatives... and if I did/do I’d ask please do give me a good slap. I hope perhaps this will offer some perspective on how blessed MOST of our lives really are and how such small acts of #Kindness and #Love can be in fact SO BIG.
