👠 - What kind of shoes does your muse usually wear? What is most comfortable for them in regards to footwear? Can your muse walk in high heels?

Cal enjoys a nice simple pair of sturdy comfortable boots with good traction. He’s nonstop moving and climbing, traversing rough terrain, and general imperial ass kicking so whatever footwear he has on has to be able to withstand that and be waterproof on top of that. Flexible enough to move with him, but sturdy enough that putting his foot on the wrong rock won’t slice the shoe to ribbons. Most of his boots look like they’ve been through hell and back (and they have), but if you were to slip them on they feel like an absolute dream.

As for high heels, he can walk in them but you’d have to pay him a lot of credits, pyrite, enough food to last him a month, AND have a very good reason for why he’d have to wear them. Like. “Oh Cal we have to go undercover and it involves high heels but if you do this we can get intel to save an entire planet!” reasons.

🍇 - Who has the greatest influence over their life? Who can easily change their mind or push them to do something they don’t want to? Negatively or positvely.

BD-1, hands down. The lengths Cal would go for him, the things he’d do to make BD happy even if he doesn’t particularly care to do it, are almost immeasurable. There have been many a time he’s only taken a break because BD wanted him to. Sometimes sneakily as a “I need to charge or have maintenance” tactic that Cal sees right through and does it anyway, but regardless it counts.

Close second and honorable mention would be Greez. BD often gets Cal to take breaks better than Greez does, but Greez is one of the very few who sees Cal vulnerable more often than not, gets him to at least think about breaks or doing things differently.

🍑 - Describe a bad day they recently experienced (not necessarily dramatic/tragic) and how they handled it. Did they break down? Did they withdraw? BUT ITS TEENAGER CAL ON BRACCA ON A NORMAL WORKDAY.

The gloves usually worked.

Prauf hadn’t questioned why he always needed to wear gloves; Cal was a weird kid and many workers, especially riggers, often depended on their gloves to keep their hands from getting sliced to ribbons on jagged metal. It wasn’t that abnormal for day to day workers let alone a small redheaded human who hadn’t quite hit his next growth spurt yet. He couldn’t blame the kid for wanting to avoid too much damage to still growing fingers.

Traipsing around through venators and other republic ships had become just a day to day part of Cal’s life these days, echoes of times recently gone no longer so demanding. Gloves worked wonders to protect bare skin from touching some of the slightly more aggressive calls from the Force.

So why now? Why this echo? It wasn’t even that intense of an echo, the memories attached not fraught with the usual pains and aches of war. There were no violent ends, no anguished ghostly screams, not even a sliver of grief over fallen comrades.

A simple cup, well cared for and now cracked and chipped from whatever calamity befell its owner. Nothing but warmth and familiarity attached. She often read mission reports while sipping caf from this cup. It had been a gift. Don’t break this one, I’m running out of places to get them for you the giver had teased.

This echo had been calm and warm, filled with contentment. It shouldn’t have rendered Cal quiet and small. Prauf noticed Cal withdraw into himself and gave him a light bit of prodding but got nothing, and he knew better than to poke too hard. He really didn’t want to leave Cal alone but his offer of pooling resources for a boys night fell on deaf ears.

In the safety of his newly acquired apartment, Cal huddled under his oversized poncho and draped his threadbare blanket over himself. Later, he will make himself a weak and stale cup of tea while rubbing his thumb over a little nexu figurine had had salvaged and didn’t turn in. He will pick his gloves back up and find the hole he didn’t realize was there earlier. The gloves will be tossed into the fire burning in the center of his tiny apartment to add fuel and ceremoniously retire them, then he’ll open up the new gloves finally and add some extra padding on the fingertips so they stretch longer than their predecessors did.

For now, he simply hides even from himself and wonders why such a warm friendly memory filled him with such grief.

🍈 - How do they calm down when they are upset? Would they act differently trying to calm down in a group setting versus all alone?

Cal while upset and alone is a vastly different person than Cal while upset and surrounded by others. He knows full well that the Jedi way is to feel, process, and learn to move on. This knowledge goes flying out the window in the face of others nearby; he does not deal with strong emotions in front of others for fear of it being seen as a weakness, this being an unfortunate side-effect from his time on Bracca and then further exacerbated by his time separated from the Mantis Crew. When he’s forced to the brink and can’t contain himself anymore his emotions overflow and explode out which makes him look more volatile than he (typically) is. Cal is well aware this is a weakness of his and tries to work on it, however.

By himself (or with BD) he’s an open book of emotion, although sometimes he talks himself back under wraps when trying to focus on whatever mission he’s on. When trying to deal with what’s upsetting him he’ll often talk out loud about it whether BD is there or not, then meditate on it later.

🍋 - Is there anything special about their diet, and how do they manage it? If they were to gain/lose a lot of weight suddenly, how would they react and adjust?

Cal’s diet is horrible. Sure, a lot of his favorite foods are on the healthier side (he does love his fruits and veggies) but whether he has access to them at any given moment is a different matter, and he learned very quickly to just scarf down whatever was available. By 9BBY he’s got a stomach of iron and friends are amazed by how the food he eats neither adds proper weight gain nor manages to kill him.

This diet, combined with how he doesn’t seem to know how to just sit and relax, does little to pack on any fat cells (necessary or otherwise) so if he were to suddenly lose or gain a noticeable amount of weight he’d be very concerned that he was about to die from something. If he notices.

(The exceptions to this are my self-indulgent AUs where Cal eventually does, finally, get into a position in life where all is well and he learns how to just live and be settled with his plants and droid and peace. He finally gains enough weight to soften him a little, aka he finally has healthy fat and his body can focus on sustaining him instead of not collapsing. Cal’s still concerned he might die from something. It may take a healer or medic to level him an unimpressed but understanding look and go “yes, of old age you idiot.”)
