oc asks that reveal more than you think

Do they sleep with a stuffed animal? If they have multiple, who’s the favorite?

Can they take care of a plant? What about a pet? What about a child?

Ask them to describe their love interest.

Do they look good in red?

Speech! Speech! Speech! Speech! Will they give one, and what about?

Who will they take advice from, no matter what it is? Who won’t they take advice from, no matter what it is?

Describe them in three words. Now let them describe themself in three words.

Do complex puzzles intrigue or frustrate them?

Do they empathize with non-sentient things (dolls, plants, books…)?

What age do they most want to be right now?

They’ve won the lottery. Spend, or save?

Do they like romance in the books they read (or in the book they’re in)?

Name one thing their parents taught them.

Would they agree with the term ‘guilty pleasure’? Do they have any?

What would they consider a waste of time– other than school or work?

If money wasn’t a limit, what would they wear?

Do they like children?

Kissing: tongue or no tongue?

Do they study before tests? Practice before job interviews?

What do they like that nobody else does?

What would it take for them to break up with someone? What would be the last straw?

Do they like being called pet names? Do they call other people pet names? What’s their go-to?

Stability or novelty?

Honesty or charity?

Safety or possibility?

Talent or effort?

Forgiveness or vengeance (or…)?

Would they date a fixer-upper?

What recurring dreams do they have?

What would they do if they knew it would be forgiven?

My roommates got me into jujitsu kaisen and as we can see ive already got a favourite character. She is really fun to draw so maybe in the future you’ll see something more polished outside of the sketches here, but i cant promise anything other than more OC art

Have you ever watched The Company of Wolves (1984)? It’s a werewolf film, it’s basically about a girl having a dream about falling in love with a werewolf. It’s a metaphor for coming to terms with blossoming sexuality, as well as a discussion of the different roles that werewolves inhabit in stories. It’s a movie about wanting the forbidden and not exactly being a proper Christian girl, so I wonder if it’d be relevant to Jessi.

Why does the cheese not get enough sleep? Is it her and/or society’s fault?

I suppose its a little of column A and a little of Column B and a dose of the secret column C

Column A:

Colby does just generally have a really hard time quieting her mind down enough to allow herself to rest. Thoughts have always just raced through their mind nonstop

it also just in general takes them way longer than your average person to fall asleep because of it

its the ADHD. just straight up both of the previous points are direct results of ADHD

Column B:

the body's circadian rhythm can be disrupted by many things. One of those is travel throwing you out of the rhythm you're used to. yknow, jet lag! Now that would also subject the others of the skeld crew to this as well given the nature of their job.

Prior to the constant travel though, I'd like to imagine that Mnemosyne, the colony on Titan that Colby is from, is one of the older settlements of the sol system, and thus perhaps does not have some things that other places do. such as perhaps a lack of a simulated day/night cycle and instead simply dimming the lights during 'night hours' as the closest thing to that. (yknow like how they do on ISS)

That being said the orbital period of Titan around Saturn is a grand total of 16 days, and then Saturns orbital period is 29 years which is an entertaining coincidence with Colby's age but im getting off topic. something something no day/night simulation and no seasonal simulation either just seems like a recipe for sleep issues with the general populous.

The Secret Column C

Her parasite is fucking hungry 24/7 and is not above disturbing its hosts sleep if it needs to consume nutrients to keep the two of them alive

i'd imagine having another living entity sharing your body puts said body under a considerable amount of stressors and stress is also something that can cause insomnia.

Basically Colby is a walking sleep issue for herself at all times and its a miracle she gets any sleep at all

above all im truly the one to blame for her sleep issues. Im the one who gave them to her after all

UNO Reverse card! Have you ever had a character that was originally Happy and Comfy, but over time you've subjected them to the Horrors™️?

I think both Aurora and Jessi would fit into that category. Like

Jessi struggles with her wereform that she found out about at 16 and its been nothing but the horrors for her every full moon since.

Aurora deals with The Horrors both first hand and by proxy of watching her friends deal with the bullshit. She tries to be the rock for both Jess and Avry when they’re dealing with things…. While Aurora is ALSO out here dealing with the exact same horrors. Like the fact her bestie turns into an uncontrollable monsterous half dragon beast every full moon, knowing full well she could hunt her for sport if the weredragon was close enough to the town. Or subjecting herself to literally any of the shit Amaris throws the groups way to deal with. All while not feeling she can express how she feels to the other two because they turn to her so frequently and Aurora doesnt want to burden her friends with her issues.
