26. Is your muse particular about passing, or do they not mind how they’re perceived?

// Clay’s biggest thing is he wants to feel secure in his body, and sadly that includes “passing” so that other people don’t mistakenly misgender him. Which is another reason he tends to just stick to his farm, so he can work on his body image in safety.

23. Did your muse experience any troubles coming out?

// Yes, he tried to come out to his now ex boyfriend and it was a disaster. He had to put up with hate and bigotry for months until he finally fled. He rarely goes out of the confines of his farm now.

// Clay has never attended pride, but if he was able he’d want to stick to doing things that would interest his toddler son. And being surrounded by people who will validate and love him for who he is will probably make him tear up in joy.

7. How old was your muse when they first realized they were trans? What thought processes did they have, and did they accept themself right away?

// Clay always kind of knew, but it wasn’t until after his father’s death that it all started coming together in his mind. He was not in a healthy environment after the death of his father, trapped in a loveless relationship with a man who continuously invalidated him.

He was unable to nurture this discovery for a long time, but he would think and dream about it every night.

// Clay did have a different name at birth, it was hard for him to give it up because his father lovingly picked it for him and his father had since then died. But he knows in his heart that his father wouldn’t mind the change.

what sort of act did tristam have to put on to convince you that he was a decent person? he has so many. did he let you think that he was reliable? or maybe that he was just funny and dumb, or a lonely sweetheart with a sad past, or even a boy genius who wants to help people? he’s none of those things.
