The first episode of the Wade Whipple show (guest-starring Knuckles the Echidna) really lays home how weird it is that these characters are so... domesticated in the live-action film franchise.

Like. Sonic, Tails, and Knuckles are all just. Living in a house in rural Montana with Mom and Dad. Mom makes breakfast and then they go out to play. And that's just. The status quo. If Knuckles misbehaves, Mom can ground him from being an Echidna Warrior.

That's not a joke, either. Knux literally gets grounded from being an Echidna Warrior at the start of the episode because he misbehaved.

This is such a weird take on the Sonic 'verse when you really stop and think about it.
